Plus, inside every man, is a little boy. With COVID in full effect March 2020, I had enough time to think about what to gift hubs leading up to Father's Day. I ditched the mundane ties, socks or button-down dress shirts for him- because even when his job transitioned from office to home early March, those standard Father's Day gifts, deemed entirely useless. Searched a few online Music instrument stores and Hermes came out on top. Read their company info, differences between Congas, types of wood and natural animal hide drumhead vs. synthetic ones. At about $250ish, placing my order was quick and considering the Texas destination plus the post office's chaotic schedule, hubs' Conga arrived in no time for Father's Day. Thank you. Whether hubs was a drummer in the past, he is definitely banging away presently with his Conga- and he'll sure be holding on to it for years to come. This was an obvious fix.

Wait, no it was just drizzling a little. It was very quiet in the store. I don't remember hearing any music which at the time felt super strange - especially for a place called Mr. Music. So it was somewhat unsettling.. like an ironic experience where you are surrounded by guitars and pianos, but no one is playing and no CD's or whatever are being piped through a speaker anywhere around you... Seems like there is little joy to be found in a world where instruments exist only in silent, motionless state also. Couldn't the cashier guy just bang the keys on one of the pianos to get people in the store? Hey, remember that movie Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure? Yeah, there was a cool scene like that only it was Beethoven.. Anway, I just got a cool idea for a short story - where some guy named Mr. Music is actually hell-bent on removing all music from the world somehow, oh yeah and he's deaf also.Yeah, that would be neat... Ok, so wait, if he's deaf how would he know that no music was being played? Seems like a weak point in the story design to me. I need to think this over a little more first..
