Last night's was a Joaquin Phoenix double bill, showing Walk The Line followed by Two Lovers. While we ended up skipping the first film and just having dinner, the price is still very reasonable. We shared a lovely bottle of wine outside on the terrace (had to sit on the wall though as all the tables were full) with amazing views of the river and Hammersmith Bridge. Back inside for dinner, which we shared: a large mezze platter and some mushroom bruschetta, both of which were delicious and just enough. The cinema itself is what every cinema should be: small and dark, with the seats on an incline so everyone can see. They showed the previews and ads WAY before the start time (PERFECT!!), even drew the curtains in between the previews and the film itself (DRAMATIC!!). Riverside has much more to offer than just a restaurant and a cinema... it also shows stand-up comedy, has a fully functioning tv studio where they film live shows, a theatre for live music, and art exhibitions. A wonderful space with quality at every turn.

Step inside and anticipate delightful beers and ales, but wait, there's more! The food is delicious! Steaks are cooked to order perfectly. Our table ordered three mediums and one medium rare - delivered to spec. Another night we arrived with two young grandsons in tow; Tommy was attentive to their requests and prepared giant take-home boxes for later enjoyment. I can vouch for the gnocchi - wonderful texture and taste. Distillery has a corner location with a large patio dining area and two rooms inside, one outfitted with a fireplace, doubtless cozy on a chilly night. Upstairs are facilities and another room for private occasions. Don't miss the wonderful old sinks in the Ladies Room (can't vouch for the Men's).

I think that the pub puts real effort into this part of the pub and some sort of entertainment is on most nights. Downstairs it has the same quality feel to it with ample sofa's chairs and stools to enjoy a pint or drink and also to get fed if required. There is a good space outside with a pebbled garden which is used in the summer for bbq's. My visit was early evening on a Friday night and appeared popular with the local workers - Doctors from Charing Cross hospital and media types from the business unit across the road. It has a lot of interesting decor and interior which keeps your eyes busy whilst you listen to acts on stage. It feels a little weird when you first go in, almost like a big town hall or empty art gallery rather than a gig venue which takes a little getting used to. The venue feels quite small too which is good as live performances feel intimate. The stage is raised to a decent height so that everyone gets a good view. The bar area is quite small and during busy times it might get a bit cramped and you might have to wait a little longer to get served. That isn't the fault of the staff who upon my visits have done an excellent job under difficult circumstances. There isn't much in the way of parking in the surrounding area as Bush Hall is on a main road. There are a good selection of buses and tubes which stop near the Green which is a short walk away.

My first time here was for a Yelp event, and then I returned with another friend to see Matt Bianco. This place is just incredibly comfortable. Great views everywhere thanks to the raised outer circle, and far more seating than I've ever seen in a venue with a dancefloor. Lots of small and large booths to accommodate your group, no matter how many people you came with. The raised area is lined with a bar and lots of bar stools, so you can sit down comfortably, set down your beer to applaud, and enjoy a perfect view of the stage, while those behind you can easily see the stage over your shoulders. Really well designed. The acoustics here are extraordinary too. I do wish they'd have some more popular acts, or, you know, ones I actually know (the current events schedule didn't have any names I recognized). I would jump on the chance to see Bruno Mars or James Morrison here again! However, I would definitely make an effort to find a reason or an event to come back to Under the Bridge. My friend felt the same way. Just something very welcoming and comfortable about this place.

The traditional pot pie has a tasty crust all around. The inside is filled with creamy goodness and a mixture of perfectly cooked veggies and meat. Not mushy at all. Then the meat is pulled off the bone, surrounded in veggies and gravy (not too much that it's soupy) and covered in potatoes with the shank sticking out. It was divine. Funny thing, others who'd been coming here for years asked what is that? I informed them and told them how tasty it is. The response, "wow! I'll need to try that next time. The locals don't eat that." They were all eating burgers! Which I hear are excellent as well! But I can get plenty of good burgers at home! I can't get this! They seemed unprofessional, & were completely out of line with how outside security had prepped us for how the doors opening process would be for the 02 line que. I was in line at 14:00, five hours before the listed doors time. My friends & I were the first people there & began the regular line. Security then informed us the 02 que line would be admitted first before the regular standing general admiss in ion line, so two groups of us changed to that line as we had 02 phone verification. What we had been told & how security organized us, never happened & at 19:03 all the doors opened at once. We never would've switched lines had we known. We should've been at the center of the very front inside the venue but instead were off to the sides because the standing GA line had a more direct path to the stairs & got down before we could. It is massively unacceptable that this happened! When I asked an inside security supervisor about it, she told me "we always open all the doors at the same time". I hope this review gets to someone with the power to influence the entire 02 Shepards Bush staff, inside & out, about how terrible their lack of internal communication at this otherwise marvelous event was!!

Reasons to go here are basically as follows. You like a real local pub feel that has an Irish feel, you like watching horse racing, football, rugby or sports events but keep in mind a lot of these will be Irish based or you like live music. For me it was o.k. but the locals were a bit frosty. It has a smoking area front and back and a pool table if you fancy a game. They also have a Golf side, pool team and a fantasy football competition so if these appeal then it might be for you. I suppose being Irish would help to make any of the above more appealing, but when my husband just had to go there to watch a game, me and my friends had a friendly pool game instead. Even so, I did not feel at ease, simply because of all the blokes, screaming and being very loud and obnoxious. Also some bartenders have a very harsh accent so you must pay close attention, which is hard with all the background noise. The outside area stinks too much of cigarettes as it a heated area and therefore attracts many smokers. Definitely not for me, or anyone who appreciates talking and listening.

Hammersmith Apollo, now known as Eventim Apollo, is large and in charge. The size of this venue is so deceiving from the exterior. Who knew such a large theatre existed, literally, a few feet from Hammersmith station? Side note: Our seats were located in Circle Block 4, Row H. So, the second row of the second balcony. And located next to the hallway wall. I would say that they were in an unfortunate location. In the middle of the theatre but next to a wall. Our seats were a bit too far back for my liking. It was hard to see the comedians and, at times, the sound was a bit too loud/muffled. I think if we'd sat any further back, this review would be written slightly less positive. It's a big venue and a big stage and a single person on stage looks like an ant. We arrived about 30 minutes prior to start time and the bars inside (multiple bars on multiple levels) were packed. We skipped drinking and went straight to our seats. The ushers were friendly and guided us to our seats - no issues there. There were also no issues with row or seat numbering in our section though I do know that this theatre recently underwent £5M top-to-bottom renovation which was completed in September 2013, so perhaps this issue was sorted during the refurb. It looks fab. The seat width was great but the legroom, not so much. The seats have an unnecessary generous rounded back to them and since they are staggered (to prevent people staring at the backs of heads), the rounded seat-back falls right at your knees. I can say that after 1.5 hours of sitting, I was ready to get up and stretch my legs. And just as I had that thought, intermission hit BUT due to the location of our seats and the short 20-minute intermission, we actually never left our seats. Would I return to the Apollo? Of course! Would I pay extra for seats closer to the stage? Yes.
