Owner is a nice guy and always very helpful and chatty with his customers. Today I came in and saw fresh mango with chili available, so I picked up some. There was also papaya salad in the fridge, so I grabbed one of those too! The sliced mango with chili was $5.50 and the papaya salad was $7.95 and both were excellent! I also picked up some incense sticks, vermicelli, some Asian drinks including pennywort and Mr Brown coffee, preserved plums, and soy sauce. I was disappointed that no buffet style food was available and I guess they may not serve it on Sundays but hoping to try some next time I am back. I love this place as they have so many ready items and most have been very good! Give this place a try, you might just like it as much as I do!

We randomly stopped by Caramelo Bakery to grab a cake for a last-minute holiday gathering. From the…read morestart, it looks like Caramelo is a the place to be since there were a lot of people were picking up their orders. I think there were about 12 people in line ahead of us. Although it was the place to be, I did notice that ordering and pick up was a bit unorganized. I think it would have been more efficient if one person was ringing up the orders, and the other two people were collecting the orders. I mentioned that because when it was our turn to order, we received two significantly different prices for the cake that we were interested in. Of course, the cake ended up being the higher of the two prices. For our order we went with the tres leches cake. It was kind of interesting because I've never seen (or made) tres leches in a cake form; I've only seen it served in a pan so the excess milk would not leak out of the cake. That said, the cake was AMAZING. It was so amazing that one of party guest who isn't a fan of cakes/desserts went back for seconds. I definitely look forward to trying more items from this bakery. Interestingly enough, I really want to try the bakery's roll. I said this because most of the folks picking up orders were picking up trash bags full of these rolls.

Rich was happy to find Zeke's coffee, a Baltimore brand not readily available locally. They had only opened a few months before and said they were expecting a lot more items coming soon. Sure enough the second time we went there were a lot more items and they were expecting a big shipment that week.
