Love this family run business. Fair prices, great conversation and something for everyone! Food was excellent! We will definitely make it a stop every time we go through Cortez! It would honestly take me hours to go through the whole place and really see everything!

So much stuff to look at and something for everyone

This place is crazy full of everything!! If you are collector of any kind they have an area for you! Fun stop to look around and grab something to eat or drink too. Anna was super sweet and made me the best milkshake and only $5 for a pretty large size. The shop goes back and then when you think your at the end it has a whole furniture area in the back like another building size. Ladies are super nice and helpful if your looking for anything particular they know where it is and they let you use the restroom too! Thank again ladies this is a must stop when your going by!

Being from New England, I know my way around an antique store. I was pleasantly surprised to find this gem hidden in southwest Colorado. I only had a half hour to check the place out, but plan to go back soon. The store had every category of antiques and collectibles that I could imagine. And everything was very well organized. The art yard art was fascinating. Not sure my HOA would allow most of this, but still fun to look at.

Wow! This place had so many great collectibles! We were just passing by and came across this store. And I am so glad we did! I wish I could have purchased a lot of items but since we are flying back to Texas we can not carry much. Anyone who enjoys metal art, antiques and such ....Oh and even a good old fashion burger, I recommend stopping here!

I loved everything this antique store had to offer. The lady who owns it (Cheryl) I think really has an eye for antiquing!!!! Yes the employees do not wear mask but that does not stop me from chatting with the two ladies that cooking us a delicious Lunch.... a cheeseburger and chili cheese fries were made with love. Hands down the best antique store I have ever been too. Very clean and very organized. If I ever come back I will definitely be visiting again !!!!

Fun place to shop. We spent hours walking around and found a bunch of items we purchased. Highly recommend a visit.

Too expensive, overly priced. A big selection if you want to pay exorbitant prices for used merchandise

Ask the Community - Antique Corral

Does this store actually sell antiques or do they just sell replicas?

This store is overpriced and not worth spending a dime with. The owner is rude and racist and gets off on being a witch. Spend your money elsewhere and thank me later.

You see, in a fraction of a second on someone's Youtube video about Farmington, I had spotted a doll cabinet... and within a 1930s Jaymar "Orphan Annie and Sandy" duo... And if anyone knows anything about me... it's that I'm an Annie fanatic... and my collection of vintage Annie dolls is expansive... but was missing this particular Jaymar duo... The owner of What the Junk, the lovely, friendly, immensely knowledgable June, offered her support as soon as I walked in... but I'm superstitious a little-- I have to "spot my find" by myself... ha! Once spotted, we had an extraordinary discussion, and it was very clear that June is a true doll collector-- and get this... she can also restring dolls as well! (Oh, if only she lived closer to me!) I suspect that is just ONE of her talents, she radiates wisdom and respect for history and treasures! Her store is an artful, eclectic delight of vintage collectibles, and it oozes with love from her big heart and delightful smile. Farmington is LUCKY to have a gem such as this-- in both store and in June! P.S. FULL DISCLOSURE: I was in town as my dog was playing "Sandy" in the local production of Annie... after having such a good time talking to June, I invited her and her lovely husband as my comp tickets to the show-- and I'm soo glad they came-- what a thrill! I truly hope that we can keep in touch and that they will look me up one day if they come out to Vegas!

    Buckskin Bookseller

Colorado mountain towns almost always have tourist-trap stores that our family says "have gone the…read moreway of the rubber tomahawk". One can just hear the cry of the famous Chief Ouray and his wife Chipeta turning in their graves. The Buckskin more than offsets a lot of the tourista trash. Via architectural fortune, the Buckskin has the honor of being located on the ground floor of the AMAZINGLY well-restored Beaumont Hotel (the lobby is up a beautiful set of stairs leading to the 2nd floor). Ouray and the surrounding area are fantastic (e.g. hiking 14er Mt. Sneffels, camping where people cannot find you off of Imogene Pass, a killer hot springs pool), but unfortunately, Ouray also has its fair share of sloppy homely-cousin kitsch (the ubiquitous glass hummingbirds and t-shirts with the usual unfunny slogans). The Buckskin is a great place to walk in and peruse for local history - in a classy but friendly environment. The Beaumont itself is a great story - look it up online. It will make even the worst curmudgeon smile. Recipe for a great day in Ouray: go for a nice draining hike; take in the hot springs; eat a great dinner - then head to the bookstore before crashing. The only downside to the Buckskin is it's not very big. However, no book (in the Buckskin or elsewhere) will prepare you for the adrenaline pumping, no highway rail ride from Ouray to Silverton (and Durango)! If you bring out-of-staters, make sure you also bring some Depends.

I went into this store to find a specific book I had seen elsewhere. They had the book I wanted,…read moreand many more books about Colorado, CO mining, the Old West, 4x4ing, and anything else you might want about Colorado. They also had the most popular books you might be looking for while in Ouray. If you're on vacation, and need a book, this is the place to go. The owner is very friendly, but also knows how to stay back and let you browse. It's the perfect bookstore for a Colorado mountain town.
