The worst service ever!!!! the cook was rude and very disrespectful. gave us cold fries. She wore NO gloves touched raw meat then proceeded to grab the garnish. Cross contamination the whole time we were there. Licked her fingers touched her face then continued to touch the food she was cooking. When we walked in didn't acknowledge us at all. My daughter was looking forward and excited to eating a cheeseburger with a shake. We r Ute Mtn Ute and it felt like she was racist from the start. This place is crazy full of everything!! If you are collector of any kind they have an area for you! Fun stop to look around and grab something to eat or drink too. Anna was super sweet and made me the best milkshake and only $5 for a pretty large size. The shop goes back and then when you think your at the end it has a whole furniture area in the back like another building size. Ladies are super nice and helpful if your looking for anything particular they know where it is and they let you use the restroom too! Being from New England, I know my way around an antique store. I was pleasantly surprised to find this gem hidden in southwest Colorado. I only had a half hour to check the place out, but plan to go back soon. The store had every category of antiques and collectibles that I could imagine. And everything was very well organized. I happened upon this store on my way back into Cortez from the Four Corners. I was immediately greeted and felt very comfortable here. Both ladies were super friendly and so helpful that I grabbed lunch while I was there and it was delicious. I did not see any racist or political propaganda in the store and I spent some time walking around all areas of it. Place has really cool unique stuff though overpriced. However what really struck me is a section in the back full of "black collectibles" and racist signs ex: "whites only". My husband asked the lady in the front why she sells these items and she said that they've been selling them for 16 years all across the country as if that makes it acceptable. Horrible customer service. The owner (lady) Verrryyyyyy rude. We left our stuff at the register and didn't buy any thing. It's an antique shop. My husband asked if they could do any better on the items we where buying that were all together well over $100 plus dollars & wouldn't even consider bartering. Which is fine. She lost our business due to her rude behavior. She try to say it was because of my 4 & 5 year old which didn't touch anything. My kids were a little loud here and there and i would quite them. The lady at front desk was very rude when we walked in the door with my Service Dog. The lady did not even ask if he was a service dog. She told us we cannot have our dog in the store when I stated he is a service dog she said I don't care you have to hold him or he is not allowed in the store. Let see her hold a 75 lb dog. I also had my service dog certificate and she said well I can get that online. My dog went through 2 years of training and is Certified not something you get online. So we will never return and I would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

After reading reviews and comments about this place refusing service dogs, I have no desire to visit this shop or recommend this place. Yes, anyone can buy tags/gear for service animals and put it on their animal. But their are laws that protect shop owners. If a "service animal" is behaving outside the standards of their PA, then yes an owner can ask the customers to leave. They cannot, however, refuse service as soon as the animal walks in the door. This is grounds for investigation and fines. SDiTs are not covered. I love antique shops I will not however, shop in a place that refuses to serve the disabled community. They have as much right as everyone else. It is truly sad when a business you have visited multiple times kicks you in the backside. Let me begin by saying that no where in the store or on the Corral's receipts does it state anything about a return policy. However, we purchase an item that was mislabeled in their store, and then were told that we couldn't return it, due to their "no return" policy. Let me break this down: after purchasing a bed frame marked "Queen" and paying partly in cash and partly with a debit card, we drive the bed frame to it's destination 70 miles away and set it up. We spend 30 minutes fixing a bent side and replacing a missing screw. We spend $33 on wood to add as slats.Then we discover the frame is actually a "Full", not a "Queen". I called the store to let them know I'll be returning with the frame, and I was curtly informed there are "no refunds". I pointed out that the frame I purchased was incorrectly marked by an employee in their store - a mistake, and therefore, I expect a refund. The reply was "we'll find you another frame". I informed her that there were no other Queen size frames in the store, so I will be returning the frame and expecting a refund, and she replied, "we'll see". Needless to say I was fuming at this point. The day we purchased the bed frame we spent over $300 on the frame and other furniture. Every other time I have been in this store I have spent money. As a good paying customer, I don't appreciate crappy treatment, especially when I have done nothing wrong. I returned the frame and looked at another one that the owner showed me. The other frame wouldn't work for us, and I told her so, so they took me to the register where she then proceeded to argue with me that the refund had to be issued onto a credit card, as that is how the payment was initially made. Even though that is incorrect, I took my money and ran. I left with a horrible feeling in the pit of my stomach. I felt like I had to fight for my money back on a mistake made by the store, and then made to feel bad over it. Overall, it was a terrible experience. The bottom line is: buyer beware. I will not be going back. Also, all the fun lunch boxes and cowboy shirts are gone. As is my like for this store. read more

Sadly my experience wasn't as delightful as the previous reviewers. For starters, if you have children -- leave them at home for sure. From the entrance to through-out the store, the place is peppered with signs including lots of exclamation points that essentially state "We don't want kids in here" in language that isn't even as kind as that. Granted, it's an antiques store with lots of little, breakable things sitting precariously on overstocked shelves -- so I assume they've had some bad experiences to get that point. All the same, a bit of tact could be helpful. During a visit today, I asked if a better price could be made on a patio set that I'd seen twice there before -- over about a 4 week period. It was in need of a serious cleaning and appeared to be outside for some time (I'm guessing well before I saw it the first time). She was quite incredulous about it and told me she'd already sold 3 of the same set. Honestly what antiques store receives 4 of the same set? So sales tactic or not, it seemed odd. I've been in and out of many antique shops and it's not unusual to ask if a price can be made any better, so to receive that type of reaction was quite foreign to me. There's a way to rebuff an offer or negotiate something that isn't so gruff and frankly full of negative attitude. I should state I've been in previously and they do have a really varied inventory and random things you'd be hard pressed to find else where. You could spend hours in there. I have been to this store several times and have found everything overpriced. A scabbard at Colorado Saddlery goes for $68.00 brand new and this place want $120.00 for a highly used scabbard. When I asked the lady in the office if their sheep skins had any room she just smirked and said their prices are firm. Found this store while out driving and doing sightseeing in the area and boy am I glad we stopped. From the road it looks like a medium sized building but inside it just goes on and on - it's very large and has an awesome selection of items. The treasures within are grouped by type and are very extensive. If you are looking for something in particular you can ask and they will point you in the right direction where you will find ample examples of what you are looking for. The arrangement allows for comparison between like items so you find the best item(s) for your collection. Their selection of cast iron cookware is the best I've seen. The room in the back of the store is stocked full of antique furniture of every type and style. They stock everything from memorabilia type items and primitive Americana, cowboy boots and western items the selection is HUGE! The ladies at the front desk were helpful and very knowledgeable and don't hover-they let you explore to your hearts content. I found the prices very reasonable and in some cases a real bargain. I fell in love with this store and will definitely make the 6 hour drive back to shop again! read more

I am a third generation antique collector. Brought my girl in to help her dive in to the deep end of serious antique shopping. Part of which is playing with the antiques, trying out the antiques and role playing from the bygone era of period pieces. The only way I ever purchase significantly expensive pieces is when I am freely allowed to explore the pieces without ridicule for enjoying the items. Unfortunately for the owner I am confident that I will never ever come back here to purchase anything from Antique Corral due to their extreme lack of kind customer service. And I will tell all my friends how discouraging this owner was to me and my girlfriend for enjoying our visit and we perused the aisles. So sad that this owner must likely doesn't sell too many pieces and subsequently discouraged a serious buyer. This store simply has the most extensive selections of unique items you will ever find. The staff is friendly and very helpful. Do keep in mind that there are a lot of items that are old, fragile and not to let your kiddo's run wild. I have taken my Grandchildren ranging in age from 2 to 10 and have never had a problem. They are told not handle things but to ask if there is something they wish to look at. We have found unusual games, toys and moccasins (new) for them, as well as gifts for Mom and Dad. read more
