In fact, it's almost a bit of an antique store. In amongst tools and hardware of all sorts are wall hooks, books, tables, teacups and evena spinning wheel! There were a number of things which caught my eye, in particular a gorgeous blue table and some large metal flowers. Everything looked clean and in good shape for selling. Though not necessarily cheap, their prices seemed reasonable to me given the quality of mose of the wares. If you are looking for tools, this is a good place to go - they have heaps. There were many shovels and garden tools, some ladders etc. I would recommend this place if you are looking to redecorate your home or add a rustic feeling. I also suggest checking out this little gem if you love vintage shopping! There is a relaxed, quirky atmosphere and plently of eye-catching wares! The owners were lovely to talk to, and happy to show me around the shop. I really liked how this adds to the little bundle of business in Woodside. It feels right at home and being a little different to most second-hand stores in the area gives it a bit of an edge. It definitely suits the atmosphere of the Adelaide Hills. It is on the main street, but set back, so keep that in mind or you might walk straight past it! Highly recommend going for a browse! Loved it.

Not sure if they're true or not as I can't find anything online about it, so assume they were just that: rumours. I've been here recently with my current partner who fell in love with it... The store, not my ex... She loves old antique furniture and if you want to fill your house with antiques and have a big wallet then this is where you need to go. There are 2 stores setup side by side with sheds down the back that hold even more stock. When you think you've seen everything there is to see here you can go downstairs in the main shop and see another 3-4 rooms worth of items. Most items are Indian from the Edwardian era. From massive double doors, to beds and tables, to clocks, boxes and crates, if you have any love of antiques then you have to visit this place. Just fill that wallet full of cash before you do!!

If you're looking for a certain book or album, chances are it's here, he just needs to dig through the stock to find it. Come back in a week or so and it'll probably be there waiting for you to pick up. I just can't express how much I love this store. I don't always buy something, but it's a lot of fun wasting an afternoon ploughing through stock just to see what you might find. A 1920 electric wall phone stored love stories and gossip from the Jazz Age era. Vintage enthusiast would adore the delicate range of peticoats, hankies, socks and even bras! What pretty gifts they would make for someone who would appreciate them. Before I left my mini tour, I spotted a couple of stunning walnut cupboards with claw feet. Such intricate details and each carrying bone china collection, Victorian painted dolls and antique plates. I felt like I was reliving the scene from It Happened One Night with dashing Clark Gable. There are so many antique dealers specialising in second hand furniture on Magill Road it's really…read morehard to know where to start! This place is probably the best bet. The shop is a huge old house with the warehouse attached out the back. I love exploring the house, wandering from room to room and discovering new treasures in every nook and cranny. Pedlars is the best mix of variety, affordability and quality on this strip. Kensington Antiques is the only place that beats them on price, but they don't have quite the range and their pieces don't tend to be in quite as good condition. Pedlars sells stuff for individual dealers (I think it's a consignment type arrangement), so there are two stages of quality assesment before the stock gets to the shop floor. They do auctions here too, which I imagine would be very worthwhile as it's at auctions that most furniture dealers pick up their goods before they inflate the prices to on sell to the end user. I have always found the staff really obliging and lovely here. They've allowed me to negotiate prices down and then happily manuevered a slightly too big table down the very narrow staircase for me at closing time. Customer service win!

These items are so unique, and for antique/collectable items, some of the prices are affordable to practically anyone, which I like. Not only do they specialise in items from France, Denmark and England, they also buy and sell local items. Also, they sometimes auction off the items they have for sale, which would definitely be something to keep your eye out for. So check out the website for more information on that. So much so, I hit the brakes and double back! This store is full of really great thrift finds. Everything from clothing, jewellery, records, home décor, shows, electronics, etc, etc... But, what you need to know is that the couple that run this store really do find some quality antiques. I can almost guarantee that you will leave with something. What are my fave finds here? Well, we picked up an awesome 80s style stereo system with a record player for $150. Winning! The lovely owner even chucked in a few free records for us to play. How nice is that? I have also found a number of home décor items. So, stuff like vases, plates and toys. If you like swing style dresses, you will find a bunch here that are new. I think that the owner is totally into the rockabilly style. Very nice and worth stopping by if you are in the area.

They play Fresh 92.7 on the radio quite loudly without fail and have done this for the last 5 or so years I have been visiting them. I tear up the d-floor in my mind each time I duck in. Most of the larger furniture is out the back in the big attached shed. Some of it is rad and some needs more TLC than I can imagine giving it without a marriage certificate. It's also loads of fun poking through the rooms of books, prints, picture frames and general guff. Great place to find small tables, bookshelfs and I've even seen a few meat safes there.

However, like a lot of the more purist antiqueries it has a fascinating mix of absolute gems and absolute garbage, and a fine line run between the two. I don't go in too much for furniture, I'm more in it for the nicknacks, and Kensington Antiques has plenty of those. However, there is a bit of good furniture there, albeit of the smaller variety due to the limited space in the building. Definitely worth stopping in for a poke around if you are doing the Magill Road antique trail.

I must admit it did take me a while to find my fur, mainly because it took me so long to make it up stairs, and that's because I was distracted by the jewelery. So much vintage jewelery...you know, the stuff you used to drool over in your nanna's jewelery box when you were 6, and maybe like me, you haven't stopped drooling. The broaches, the hat pins, the hair pins, the earrings, the bracelets and the rings, it's almost too much to process; like a sugar overload. Another cool thing is that they have a hug book shelf dedicated to matchbox cars and there are so many random/ weird household items to explore! I will say that it gets slightly creepy as you delve further into the store, there's a book shed out the back which resembles a small library, this place has everything.

At first I was a bit baffled because there only seemed to be antiques in the store, that is until I looked out the back and found a huge collection of books. I have to admit that their books actually aren't that great, and some of them are a little over priced (such as the Enid Blyton book that they are selling for $90.00 which I ended up getting elsewhere for $10.00 - needless to say that they still haven't sold it). While the books were pretty ho hum, the collection of antiques was nothing short of awesome - everything from clothes to household furniture to toys. While there are better second-hand bookshops in Adelaide, this is a place to check out if you like antiques.
