I've been doing Botox for years and having recently moved to Virginia, this was my first treatment…read morein a new state. I met with Denise for my consult, not the doctor in December 2016. There were no mini ice packs before, during or after my injections. (These are great to reduce redness, swelling and bruising plus they help numb the injection site.) Last, Denise didn't draw up the Botox in front of me, which made me feel very uncomfortable as I like to physically see that I'm getting exactly what I'm paying for. I always stay around 25 units but Denise did over 45, the most I've ever had. My results were not good. Too much Botox caused my eyebrows to push down and one eye to droop. At the same time my droopy eye also had a new deep crease wrinkle above it. My crows feet didn't look like I had any injections at all. Clearly I had too much in areas and not enough in other areas. Denise stated that I had to allow 14 days for the full effect and return at 3 weeks for a follow-up. I thought this was odd and honestly brushed off the 14 day statement at first as my Botox always kicks in by day 3 and I have full results at one week, not two. However, she was correct. This was so odd to me that the process took so long for the Botox to take effect. I can only assume their hydration of the Botox is very high (meaning the product is very diluted). I went back for a followup at 3 weeks and I explained how unhappy I was. Denise made excuses for why I had such poor results and tried to sell me more Botox. I agreed I needed more around the eyes as oddly this didn't take at all, but certainly not my forehead which caused my eye to droop. Regardless, I didn't feel comfortable buying more product from her considering my results. Since I've been getting Botox for so many years, I can go about 5 months between sessions. However, this round was unusual and oddly wore off faster than my other treatments. I had to get another round of Botox less than 3 months later, from a different practice. Obviously, I won't be a returning client at this practice. With this being said, I wouldn't tell someone not to seek Botox at this establishment. You may go and have great results or you may have poor results. Still, if you go, take your own ice pack, (her injections are hard and deep) and ask her to draw up the Botox in front of you. I recommend going with small doses and later adding more if needed. Don't fall for the pressure that you "NEED" more if it's out of your normal range or if your first time getting Botox. You can always get more Botox but you can't remove it. If you get bad results, take it as an expensive lesson learned and move on to a new DOCTOR. If you get decent results, watch how quickly it wears off. If it seems fast, then try a different practice for comparison. Botox has to be diluted at the physicians office and all offices/spas do this differently. Heavily diluted Botox makes the practice a ton of money as they get more product this way. Good for them, not so good for you. You may have to get more units of Botox to achieve the look you want and it will wear off faster, forcing you to return for more. (This is very true for those Botox Groupon offers! Avoid these!!) You can always ask what their concentration level is for their Botox, however, you will have to take their word as honest. The product will just have to speak for itself.

I am still stuck with this bump which will cost me $1,500 to fix but he could care less and never offered to help. Poor practice overall.

I visited the Providence Road location. After my dermatologist retired, I tried this office based…read moreon its convenient location to me. The front office waiting area is not the most inviting, and neither is the front desk employee. (The office staff had also entered my contact information incorrectly which made it difficult for my doctor to contact me with my diagnosis.) Additionally, it is not easy to get through on the phone to ask questions. I also called to ask a question and the office staff interrupted me and passed me along to a nurse. (which my general question did not need the assistance from a nurse. However, the nurse was much more pleasant to speak to than the front office staff.) I really liked dermatologist Melissa Thierry, at the appointment she informed me she would be moving out of state. At this point, I had my mind made up I was not coming back. However, I ended up being diagnosed with melanoma, so I decided to stay until this diagnosis was resolved. After Melissa's extra effort to contact me, her sensitivity to my diagnosis and her availability she offered me to make sure I was comfortable and understood the next steps for treatment I stayed. Melissa also made sure I would be transferred a doctor that will provide me with her standard of care. The nurses in the practice are friendly and helpful as well. Melissa is also diligent in treating me every three months for mole checks to prevent any further melanoma. I am grateful because not all dermatologist are this thorough according to my oncology surgeon. I am also very pleased with oncology surgeon she referred me too. (Dr. Feliberti & his entire office and team are AMAZING) For now, I will continue my treatment and care with Tidewater Skin because of their due diligence as a practice and their nursing and dermatology team.
