Lunch for me was fried octopus, which was 4 legs, each 6" (150 mm.) long and crispy on the outside and tender but slightly chewy on the inside like great fried chicken. I had seen a plate the night before and actually dreamed of them. They did not disappoint. She chose another iteration of cozze from the specials menu. These mussels were steamed in beer with fresh ginger and were comparably good to the sautéed but slightly more subtle. It turns out that dishes on the specials menu can work their way onto the standard menu if the patrons insist and the chef came out to ask for a comparison. We repeated the contorni plate of chef's choice vegetables that repeated the potato slices but added grill zucchini and oven dried onion that was sweet with all of the bitter components gone and the consistency of a very thin potato chip. We tried to rein in for dinner with pasta only. I had the Sicilian classic Pasta a la Norma with strong fresh tomato, soft eggplant, and sweet onion. It demanded scarpetta even with a white linen table cloth. She had pasta with prawns that was subtle and delicate with a lighter tomato sauce with herbs. We repeated the wines from the night before. We left feeling sad to think we probably wouldn't be back on this trip but smiling from the stomach up.

We basically went right in which was very nice. We sat in the front room as you entered. There were about 7 or 8 tables and another room off to the side. We ordered the Pasta with Pumpkin, Pecorino, and Ricotta Cheese and the Pasta with Pistachio Pesto, Stracciatella Cheese and Sun Dried Tomatoes. Both dishes were perfectly prepared. My pick was the pistachio one and it was addictive. I couldn't stop eating it. The pumpkin one was equally as good but that addictive kept calling my name. The restaurant is located in the centre of the city, on the sea (exactly on the sea). There are some tables reserved for romantic dinner which are located exactly above the water. We went just few minutes after 20:00 and we could enjoy as well a spectacular sunset. Main food is of course the fish even if they are offering as well fish. We had Spaghetti with Ricci (Sea urchin Spaghetti) and we really enjoyed it since the Sea urchins were really fresh. The main course was really a masterpiece Tuna fish with pistachio. As well in this case, the fish was really fresh and well prepared. My girlfriend made the choose to have a prawn cocktail: unluckily in this case she was not lucky since there was too much sauce, which killed the taste of the prawn. I think that it is better in this restaurant to choose something which is linked to the tradition of the place rather than to have a look at something of international. With the cooperto to charge and charge for tap water (which I know is everywhere in Italy) this bill cost me a lot more than I was expecting for the service and quality of the food. The staff were friendly, gracious, and flexible, bringing a child seat, being patient with our crappy Italian, and nonjudgmental about our American eating preferences (Sicilians do a multi-course lunch, we just wanted a pasta course and wine). And most importantly, the food was outstanding, easily the best we had in two weeks here. Make sure to try the gnocchi with pistachio cream sauce and the amazing chicken soup, which tastes like it was made by a grandma in a farmhouse. The ice cream cake dessert was also wonderful. Lots of vegetarian options, very kid friendly. Highly recommended!
