Born and raised in Scarborough, and having spent so much time in downtown Toronto over the years, I thought I knew the city. But walking through U of T's historic grounds stirred up memories I didn't even know I had. There's something about that campus, especially Trinity College, that feels timeless. My grandfather studied there, and while I don't have any clear recollection of ever visiting as a child, standing among those buildings sparked something deep. The architecture is stunning--stoic, storied, and soaked in a quiet reverence. It felt like the kind of place where knowledge has lived for centuries, and where you can feel the presence of the past. At one point, I came across a walkway near the clock tower, and right there was an inscription of Archangel Michael. I hadn't expected it, but it felt perfectly placed--as if the moment had been waiting for me. I sat for a while, just taking it all in, and while my friend may never fully understand the weight of what I felt, I left that campus with something more than just a tourist memory. I hope U of T never loses that energy--that spirit. It's more than a campus. For some of us, it's a portal.

Entering the campus, it seems that an architectural history book has been opened: the neo-Roman-style University College and the Gothic Renaissance-style Hart House have a century-old legend, and the nearby modern buildings, such as the dragon-scale-shaped "student activities" The Nest and the futuristic Carpenter & Union Hall show the spirit of innovation.

Our success rate speaks for itself. It has been proven that when a student feels comfortable with their surroundings, they are better able to focus on the material being taught. It is with this in mind that we have deliberately stayed away from an institutional type of teaching facility and instead have developed a cozy, homelike feel to our Centre. No matter if you are a student who needs a helping hand to keep up with your class mates or you need to prepare for an exam, or you want to upgrade your French, we will design a customized program that will fit your needs. Please feel free to browse our website and see what we have to offer. Once you are satisfied that this is the school that can help you reach your French language goals, then please email or phone for an evaluation appointment !

The $2 towel is a bit much in my opinion but i just bring my own. the rental locks are very tricky so bring your own sometimes the women's washroom is a bit gross they do clean it very regularly but there is a lot of traffic and its not a new facility. You get to keep all the food you make in the culinary arts classes so i usually attend classes on the weekend. The classes also double as my meal prep session for the upcoming work week. I suggest attending a sunday morning class (if possible) to all part time students because street parking is free on sunday mornings. The quality of the ingredients are superb. I remember learning how to fillet fish and the seafood came from Diana's seafood. The butter we used is from sterling creamery. The salmon we used to barbecue was sashimi grade so our instructor made us ceviche with the leftover salmon! You can definitely taste the quality of the ingredients that are provided in your classes. The instructors i've had are patient, laid back and funny. I think my three favorite elective courses would be BBQ, Indian cooking, and Thai cooking. The introduction to culinary arts course (compulsory course) gave me the confidence to attempt more difficult recipes and different types of cuisines at home. The course covers the fundamentals of cooking and is well worth the investment (even if you are not interested in the culinary program). I cannot wait till social distancing rules are lifted and GB offers culinary classes again. For now, i will read the course outlines and drool while deciding what to take next.
