Public Safety Alert: Menu Misrepresentation, Undisclosed Pork Concealed in Cajun Pasta at Bistro 24…read more On July 4, 2026, during a holiday trip from Georgia (5+ hour drive), my fiancée and I dined at Bistro 24 at Pearl River Resort. Having abstained from pork for over 30 years, I trusted the menu when ordering Cajun Pasta--a meatless base with a paid Chicken add-on. Unbeknownst to us, pork sausage was heavily concealed inside the thick Alfredo sauce and vegetable base. We elected carry-out containers after sampling several bites and returned to our room with the intentions of getting some much needed rest. Hours later, my fiancée suffered acute gastrointestinal distress. I called front desk to be connected to Bistro 24, in hope of speaking directly to a manager or food representative, to no avail. Moments later I suffered severe biological rejection resulting in acute emesis upon our bedding. At that time I requested housekeeping. We were forced to get dressed and leave our room at the Silver Star Hotel to address the issue in-person at Bistro 24 inside the Golden Moon Casino. We confronted the manager and Executive Chef. The Chef openly admitted, in front of the manager, that he intentionally added pork sausage to the base because "everyone was asking for it to be", despite omitting it from the menu. This was a deliberate decision to alter a dish without disclosing a restricted protein. We filed an on-property complaint with resort security (Officer Iris, badge #47). Post-departure, we sent emailed complaints. Risk Management sent a Certified Mail package offering a nominal $500 each, conditional upon signing a Confidential Release Form. We rejected it. I offered a final window for them to outline their corrective menu policies, but they chose total silence. CRITICAL SAFETY WARNING: I urge anyone with severe food allergies, religious/spiritual beliefs, or dietary restrictions to exercise extreme caution here. When a kitchen intentionally conceals pork inside a base sauce without labeling it, it creates a high-risk environment. You cannot trust this menu. Due to the resort's total lack of accountability, I am formally escalating this to the Choctaw Gaming Commission and the Office of the Tribal Chief for a full regulatory audit. We intend to exhaust all available means to protect public safety from corporate entities that fail to acknowledge grievances and operate outside of policies meant to protect the public. This was honestly one of the worst service experiences I have ever had…read more We came in on a Monday night too a sparsely sat restaurant. Nevertheless there were 4 waitresses which was more than enough. Unfortunately, the wait staff spent more time talking and joking with each other than serving. It took them 30 minutes to take our order and then 50 minutes to tell me they didn't have the kind of cheese I wanted for my hamburger. So all in it took 1 hour for a burger! AN HOUR FOR A BURGER!! In that time, I watched them serve 1 other table of 4, watched 1 table of 1 pay. Watched a waitress break a glass, poorly sweep it up and then saw another person come by and mop the glass around. In all this time our waitress never came by to check on us, never refilled our drinks or checked on our food. A different waitress delivered my food, again an hour after I ordered it. We asked for the manager after finally getting my food. The manager/floor supervisor was apologetic but also full of excuses. Instead of correcting the staff he started doing their work for them. Including bringing us our bill and refilling our drinks. While going through the bill another patron, having just sat down, and upon hearing our report of the service, got up and left. The manager did give us a discount on the bill for the poor service but I'd much rather have had a good dining experience. I hate to say this but I think age is a factor. All of the waitresses were in their early to mid 20s and really had no work ethic. The manager was similarly aged, maybe slightly older, and didn't know how to manage his team. I think more experienced leadership needs to train the staff from the front of the house to the back. Needless to say we won't be back.

Went here for a team dinner while in MS for work…read more It's a small Mexican/Honduran restaurant with colorful decor, pretty good parking, and decent hours. The service was ok, and the staff were friendly, but it was definitely not amazing and was quite slow. I had to ask 3 different people to bring me the sour cream that I ordered as well as lemons, and the tomatillo sauce that was given (it's in refillable bottles) was empty so I had to ask for another after they walked away. Now to the food. I got the supreme enchiladas order which comes with 1 chicken, 1 beef, 1 cheese, and 1 bean enchilada with lettuce, guacamole, tomatoes, and cheese on top. The enchiladas were small, and the ingredients fresh, but the flavor was extremely bland, which was surprising for a Mexican restaurant. I mean, I could have had a more flavorful meal at Taco Bell. I ordered rice and refried beans on the side, and while the rice was decent, but nothing to write home about, the beans tasted metallic or artificial like it had been just scooped out of a can; it was not edible. TLDR: I'm giving 2 stars because the people were friendly and were trying hard, and the prices were really cheap (like $11 for my meal without the extras) but the food is just bland, even if the ingredients are fresh.

Overall 2.5 Stars - Explanation below…read more A local and staple establishment that has been around for over 10 years in Philadelphia, MS. It has been years since I've been here and we went there for lunch cuz the other Mexican restaurant was closed on Tuesday. Ambiance 3 Stars - a large dining area when you enter through the double-glass doors. You are greeted by the host to one of the many tables or booths. The area is broken into two sections: a smaller dining space that has at least twenty tables and the much larger main dining area where there more booths and large tables. The art deco is your typical Hispanic decoration and they are nice and cute. Not too gaudy. Service - 3 stars: our server was pleasant and professional. However she was tired and was responsible with many tables. She wrote and verified our orders. The drinks arrived within 5 minutes. The supporting staff were professional and helped when needed. The food arrived 20 minutes afterwards due to the lunch rush. Food: 1 - 2 Stars Out of respect, I didn't take any pictures of other entrees except my own. Salsa 1 star and Chips 2.5 stars The salsa was not appetizing at all. The tomatoes and herbs had a funky taste and I asked the other people's opinion on it too. They all agree with my assessment. It tasted like a can of "stewed tomatoes" blended to a liquid matter to become "salsa". The chips were a lot better and we enjoyed our basket until the entrees arrived. I had the Lunch Beef Chimichanga w beans. 2 Stars. I asked for the queso Blanca as a side. I don't like my chimi to be drowned in queso. The dish came w lettuce, guacamole and sour cream. The chimi's fillings were shredded beef, queso, and beans. Beans - 1 star Before I tried the chimi, I scooped up a healthy load of beans with my chips and I gagged on the salty beans. Fortunately I had my tea to swallow to cleanse my mouth. Now for the chimichanga. 2 stars Presentation wise, the chimichanga looked good and I was ready to dive into it. The tortilla's outside crust was flaky and golden brown. The guacamole was on one side and the lettuce on the other side. However, when I took the first bite, my expectation went from "high to low" upward smiley face to downward smily face. It was salty, salty, salty. The cheese and beef couldn't hide the amount of salt that was in the beans. Even the guacamole and sour cream couldn't help it. I asked the other members of the party and they said their food was salty too. Half of the party ate their food and I ate most of the chimichanga. Saving grace was the sour cream, lettuce and guacamole. I didn't touch the beans. Because of the busy lunch crowd and getting back to work, I forgot to mention to management and our server on the salty beans. That was my fault because I believe we should respectfully and calmly explain our disappointment with the food. As a previous professional in the restaurant industry I believe professional criticism is a sign to improve on an area of weakness. I am my own worst critic when I make my own food. Now would I come back again, I don't know. Can I recommend this place? The ambiance, server and staff were decent and I would if I was getting a drink instead of food. But for now, I don't recommend Old Mexico, however this is my own personal opinion. There are many loyal customers of Old Mexico and they may know something that I don't. Send me a comment if you have experienced Good or Bad food. Also, is there another restaurant I should try in Philly?
