Overall, American Eagle Roofing was pretty good for our project. There were a few things that added…read moreup that made our experience a little less than stellar. About a year ago, I reached out about a potential leak, and Chris came out to assess the roof. He was incredibly honest and mentioned that he couldn't see anything that would lead to a leak. Still, he provided estimates for a partial fix, partial roof repair, and full roof repair. We ended up not needing the service but appreciated the honesty. Fast forward to this year, I reached back out to Chris for another potential leak, and he came out and assessed the situation again. This time, there were noticeable signs of leaks but nothing that was too concerning. He provided quotes for various options, and we felt comfortable moving forward with one of them. After this is where things started to not go as well as we thought. Once we signed the contract, we were issued an invoice for the deposit. As soon as I received it, I paid it the same day (almost within minutes of receiving it). Several days go by, and I don't hear back from the company to schedule our repair. I call the office, and for some odd reason, they cannot find confirmation that I had paid the deposit. I reassured the office that I had, as it was debited from my account, and I offered to forward the receipt and to have my bank verify that it was debited in the amount and to the correct vendor. They issued another invoice for the deposit as I was on the phone trying to dispute this, which was eventually cancelled, but it was a little annoying. After I forwarded the receipt, they scheduled our repair, so I assume they found the paid invoice. As someone who uses Quickbooks for business purposes, this is not something that's hard to track or find. So, I'm very surprised to have run into this situation. The morning of the scheduled repair, we received an email that said the crew would not be showing up. We were surprised because we did not receive prior notification that this was going to happen. My husband had scheduled his work week around this, so that he could be available for any questions or concerns. When we called the office, they said that they had called and left a voicemail, which we confirmed that we did not receive. They did, however, look back at their records and said they had misdialed and apologized. Again, for something that was last minute, we were annoyed again. On the day of the repair, Chris texted us, notifying us that we may be charged an extra $500 because their truck couldn't fit in our driveway. This was incredibly frustrating because that was not something he or the company mentioned would be an issue. In fact, Brad came out prior to install to inspect the old roof, measured our driveway, and even left his tape measure in the driveway! We called Chris and expressed our frustration at this, and he apologized and said they wouldn't charge us for this. If there were structural issues outside of what they initially found, I would understand, but when they clearly measured our driveway and left evidence of that and failed to notify us of this, that's a different story. Per the multiple project emails sent to us, there was to be a walkthrough and inspection from the crew's manager the day after they finished the roof installation to ensure the work was to our satisfaction. This did not happen, nor did anyone reach out to us to schedule this. Instead, we were immediately issued an invoice for the remainder. We had noticed several areas that looked very sloppy (I assumed this would be the case given the crew seemed very rushed by the end of the day and diminishing sunlight), so we called the office to have someone come out to walk through and inspect the finished work before we were willing to make our final payment. Brad came out and noticed the same issues that we had, and he took his time to get those areas fixed, which we appreciated. Overall, we are happy with a new roof. However, all of these little things made our experience not as great as we would've expected for the amount of money we invested.

American Eagle Roofing & Gutters aka Roof Geeks, Mr. Roof and Solar (These names are just SHELL COMPANIES owned by the same parent entity/company with multiple owners). They installed a NEW roofing system on our property in 2023. It started leaking in 2025. When we first contacted them for warranty repairs, they refused to honor the 5-year workmanship warranty, citing unpaid late fees. When we filed a claim with their Surety Bond, American Eagle Roofing then claimed the leak is not a leak, but a ventilation issue. Then later, they said they are no associated with the original contractor. They kept changing their stories from, "No Warranty due to Unpaid Balance" to "a Ventilation Issue" to "No Longer Associated with the Original Contractor." They have tried multiple tactics to avoid warranty. Cannot trust a company that behave this way. Updated from 5 Stars to 1 Star due to the business using dodgy tactics to avoid workmanship warranty on a leaky roofing system.

Shawn also installed about 30 feet on gutter screens on an area subject to heavy leaf fall. My experience with Sacramento Storm Rain Gutter Service: On 1/25/23, the owner of Sacramento Storm…read moreRain Gutter Service came to our house to give an estimate to clean the gutters. We thought we had about 400 linear feet of gutter to clean. We learned later that we only had about half of that to clean as the house already had gutter guard on a lot of the 2nd story gutters. He charged $1,250 to clean the 200 linear feet that didn't already have gutter guards (more than half of his original quote as he said he couldn't just cut the original quote in half). We agreed after the cleaning to have them install gutter guards on the remaining 200 linear feet. On the day Sacramento Storm arrived to install the gutter guards, I asked the owner to show me what product they would be using; I told him that after I stayed up late doing research on the different types of gutter guards, I wanted the guard that had the raised embossed design consistent with GutterGlove's LeafBlaster Pro product. He went to the back of his truck and returned with an empty box of product with the raised pattern design and said that is what he would use (he later said he only showed that to me because I asked about it and that he did not say that is what he would be installing). I only came out a few times during the installation because the installers were throwing cut pieces of the guard from the roof which I had not been warned about, and when I did come out, I was surprised to see that the men were working from the 2nd story roof with no form of fall protection. I questioned during the install why the pieces were not tightly butted up against one another (I could see a lot of the guard from my second story windows), and the owner shouted to the man on the roof to (paraphrasing), 'put them as tight together as you can'. I had in my mind that butting them against each other would have been standard procedure per the installation instructions. When it was safe to come out after they were done (it took approximately three hours for the owner and his two employees to install the 200'), I asked if the product they were throwing off the roof was what they installed, and he said, "yes", referring to the standard DIY grade product you buy at home improvement stores, and not the Pro product that has the embossed raised pattern design and 40-year instead of 25-year manufacturer warranty. I would have asked sooner but it just didn't occur to me with my fear of being fallen on from the men on the roof when they were working above our courtyard. In checking with the manufacturer of the installed product, Gutterglove, they said that neither the owner nor Sacramento Storm Rain Gutter Service were one of their certified installers. I paid an additional $4,350 to Sacramento Storm for the DIY grade gutter guards, for a total with cleaning of $5,600., or $28 per linear foot. Some photos of install attached. In my opinion, I did not get the product I was promised nor the quality installation job I thought I was paying for. My recommendations: Know how many linear feet you need so you can determine their price per linear foot; check if they are manufacturer certified installers for the product they plan to install; ask if they comply with Cal-OSHA approved fall protection requirements if they plan to work from the roof (I assumed that gutter guard installation was done off of ladders alone but learned otherwise); ask if the gutter cleaning before install is included or an additional cost; get more than one quote.
