Mission #153: Have "new to me" Philly row home, professionally painted, complete…read more I moved into a pretty blah house about 2 years ago, but I chose it because it was blah and I knew that I could easily make it whoah, without much effort. Unable to find a painter that didn't lie for a living or think that they could rip-off the presumably single female, I painted the entire 1300 sqft myself. Twice. Having never really painted before, my walls, particular the edges, screamed DWDIY (Drinking While Doing It Yourself). I didn't care though and still invited people over to see. Yes, shameless and proud. I recently bought new furniture, so I figured I should get new color on the walls as well, but DBP (Done By a Pro)this time around. I found Bill in January, but because I'm one that doesn't really know what I want, but is pretty sure of what I don't, I wasn't able to start until April. I picked all of my colors because I'm that anal, but Bill was helpful with feedback if I became conflicted. It was a smooth enough process until the first stroke of trim color was applied and I thought "No bueno". Well, 28 days later, after a room of repainted trim, a repaired plaster wall, a repaired section of a water damaged ceiling, a kitchen of 5 different colors and a custom design wall, I have a house with 4 polished areas that looks as if the Property Brothers made an appearance and I didn't have to sell a kidney on the black market to cover it all.

Nor do they know how to paint -- as evidenced by the horrific job they did. Once bitten, twice shy; I didn't think I'd ever hire another painter again. Phil was recommended through my neighborhood website so I figured, what the heck, I'd ask for his number and check him out. Turns out quite a few people in the neighborhood spoke Phil's praise and then someone contacted him to let him know I was interested. He immediately responded. After contacting me, Phil came and looked at the rooms and the next day I had an estimate. The job was completed in two days...beautifully! Cleanup was perfect and they even moved the furniture back to where it was. In addition to being professional and considerate of our personal property, they both had great personalities. I am so impressed and urge anyone who is in need of a company to paint your house, look no further than Phil Gasparas Painting.

He did such a great job the first time, I had to have him back to repeat the excellent job again. I was not disappointed. He arrived on time each day and painted each room to perfection. I also had him paint the wooden framework outside as well since that had not been touched since his first visit. I had some of my neighbors in to see his work and they were amazed at his attention to detail in all the rooms. His quote was reasonable for today's market and I would have him back in a heartbeat to work for me again. He is respectful of your property and cleans up each day so your home is always neat and clean when he leaves. Phil always asks questions before doing each room. There were no surprises. I've passed out his cards to my neighbors and to our clubhouse for future work. Thank you again Phil for a job well done. You are my painter for life!

Mike and his team did such an extra extraordinary job that I recommended his services to my two best friends. I can't exaggerate how pleased they were. Mike and his team were always available for consultation or to answer questions. As a seller What I found to be an essential part of Mike's service is that his team can solve almost any problem or deal with any situation that can arise. Mike has access to a team of highly skilled tradesmen that can solve almost any problem. I know this from Personal experience. Mike had a skilled tradesman repair and finish a severely leaky basement. He had someone do major wall repair. And in my brother's house, he had a damaged and warped pine floor made new by a master floor finisher. I took Mike's advice and had it prepared and staged. The simple investment increased the selling price by more than 40%. And that's what it sold for. Below is a picture of my brother's house after the staging. Whatever the real estate commissions are, you cannot get a better value than Mike Mccann and his team. Do you live in or near Philadelphia? If you do it is my opinion that there's no better team than Mike McCann's for their service and dedication, and the value that they offer. He is number one.
