My daughter and I stayed at a Bi-Level Room suite and upon checking in, we discovered that our room was in a state of neglect. The carpets and walls were visibly dirty, and the shower had not been properly sanitized and the water pressure in the shower was extremely weak with no hot water available. The sliding door in the bathroom was stuck and could not be closed or locked properly, which is a significant security concern. The downstairs television would not power on. Despite calling to report these issues, no one was sent to assist us, and housekeeping failed to clean our room entirely during our stay. The most distressing part of our stay occurred at 1:30 AM on May 4th 2026. After returning from a concert, our key cards failed to unlock the gate to our room. I called the front desk to request assistance, as we were carrying food and were exhausted from walking. The only male staff member at the front desk on duty was incredibly rude and dismissive. When I asked if he would bring replacement keys or if we should come to the lobby, he stated he would bring them and then hung up on me. After waiting outside for 10 minutes in the middle of the night, he never arrived. I called again, and he claimed he had checked three gates--a statement that was demonstrably false as we had a clear view of the path from the lobby. His final response was a blunt, "Yeah, basically," when I asked if I had to walk back to the lobby myself. This staff member showed zero empathy and a total lack of basic customer service. Between the mechanical failures of the room and the verbal rudeness of the night staff, our trip was ruined. Given the severity of these issues, I emailed them to request a full refund for our two-night stay. I believe this is a fair resolution considering the property failed to provide a clean, functional, and hospitable environment.

It is conveniently on the south side of I-10 for travelers moving across the country, but not directly on the highway so that you don't hear the road noise all night. I was on the third floor. There is an elevator inside the building. I booked a King-sized bed. The room had a long hallway inside of the room, which I found unusual, but it did provide an additional buffer from noise in the hallway, especially since my room was right next to the elevator. The bathroom seemed smaller than normal, but it had all of the necessary items - soap, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, makeup remover, hairdryer, and an allotment of various towel sizes. My new favorite thing was the blackout curtain installed in the bedroom. It is actually a shade that is rolled up and down with the use of a chain. The shade is in a frame track so there is no light able to peak through sides or corners. It is not pretty, but it does completely block out the light, so I appreciated it. Things I didn't like included the location of the closet in the farthest corner of the room away from the door. I personally prefer to have the closet by the door where I can kick off or put on shoes as I enter/exit the room so that I am not dragging in dirt to the room. A closet by the door and near the bathroom is also helpful for dressing or hanging coats, putting away luggage, etc. Unfortunately, the closet was hard to get to. You have to cruise across the entire room, squeeze between the lounge chair and the bed, and gingerly open the closet door to avoid bumping yourself as you do so. It is so inconveniently located, that I didn't even use it. It was pointless to have it. It had an iron and ironing board inside, but it would have been difficult to het either of these items out of the closet because how the furniture was wedged around the door. There were four pillows on the bed, but they were not king sized. They weren't even queen sized. BW has started using mini pillows. These were also very flat. I was highly disappointed with these. I love having lots of big pillows to wrap around both sides of me and under my head, but this wasn't really possible with these deflated minis. The yellow lounge chair had stains. It looked old and haggard. Since it was a cloth, I'm guessing it is isn't something that is easy to clean. The orange pleather ottoman was mismatched with it. These items were probably salvaged from other sets and thrown together for a second life in this room. Cleanliness is important. When stained furniture shows up, it leaves a bad impression. Furthermore, I refuse to use, so BW might as well not have the furniture in the room at all. Either clean or reupholster it so that the stains don't show. The room had a fridge and microwave. The TV had a Google package. The fridge was slightly noisy during the night, but I'm guessing it comes in handy, especially during the hit summer months, which is most of the year. I was able to use my points to get the hotel room for free for the night. Because I am a member of the rewards program, I was also offered a bottle of water at checkin. The breakfast room is small, but it offered the standard combo of hot and cold food including biscuits and gravy, egg, sausage patties, uncut fruit, yogurt, cereal and milk, bread, bagels, and a waffle machine. I loved that there was NO TV in the breakfast room. It was quiet and relaxing. The hours during the week are 6am to 9am. I would have preferred later hours, but since checkout is 11am, I can see why they cut people off so early. Not my favorite BW, but it was decent for a good night's stay while traveling across the country.

The room was dirty, dusty but luckily I had some wet wipes and cleaned some areas myself. I had incident where next door was very loud after 1030pm, I called. Front desk for help and the staff was rude. Said he would "see what can be done" but nothing was done since the noise went on way after midnight. For the price I paid for this dump wish I would have just drove on through. Would give 0 stars if I could.

If you are visiting White Sands National Park and looking for a clean, comfortable place to stay in Alamogordo, this is an excellent choice. The motel is a family-owned property, and the hospitality from the owners was exceptional. From the moment we arrived, they were warm, welcoming, and genuinely kind. You can immediately tell they take great pride in their motel and care about the experience their guests have. The room and entire property were immaculately clean--honestly cleaner than many larger chain hotels we've stayed in. Everything looked freshly painted, well-maintained, and thoughtfully cared for. The landscaping and exterior were also beautifully kept, which made the whole place feel inviting and safe. What makes the White Sands Motel special is the personal touch you only get from a locally owned, family-run motel. Instead of the impersonal feel of big hotels, you feel like a valued guest here. If you're planning a trip to White Sands National Park, Alamogordo, or southern New Mexico, I highly recommend staying here. It's a fantastic family-owned motel in Alamogordo that offers spotless rooms, great hospitality, and a truly pleasant experience.
