I got custom insoles through the office. They take about three weeks to come in, and then you go back about a month later so they can check how everything is feeling and make adjustments if needed. It feels thorough and well thought out. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful too. They explain things clearly and make the whole process smooth. In person upon leaving the appointment I provided them with the pharmacy details and doctors line phone number, they lost it. Have called back several times politely asking for them to call it in and each time they've sent it to the wrong pharmacy online rather than using the doctor's line to get it to the right pharmacy online. Today I called and said look, one script prevents swelling which can cause a heart attack, the other helps prevent infection related limb loss, here is the doctors line please call it in! They did not care and hung up on me and will not pick up. Denying patient health care and prescription access because after one week they won't call a pharmacy is an unbelievably low level of service and immense amount of liability that is quite shocking. I guess I will have to report this to the insurance provider and medical ethics boards since they refuse to provide my mother with prescriptions out of sheer laziness and lack of training. If you're reading this Dr Jon your staff is polite at first but quickly becomes hostile when you ask them how after several calls and promises over a week later they are still at step one. Hanging up on patients and their advocates simply asking for a prescription is not a resolution. Update: a sweet and polite insurance rep called on our behalf, they were rude and hung up on her as well. Wow. Do better Dr Jon, fire and rehire. At this point I have to add, what kind of podiatrist has no foot measuring device and doesn't examine their patients gait when their chief complaint is severe mobility and balance problems?

Dr. Xu is an outstanding, thorough, caring and patient podiatrist. I came in with foot pain. Those of us who have been to podiatrist before, we are told certain options before a diagnosis is even available. They tell you to either 1. Get a cortisone shot 2. Purchase customized orthotics (usually out of pocket) or 3. Go straight to Physical Therapy. Dr. Xu did not do this. He listened patiently to my concerns. He performed various tests to pinpoint the origin of the pain. He then informed me that x-rays were needed to be done to provide additional details. Meanwhile, a prescription to handle the pain was given. Follow-up was in a week. X-rays were done shortly and after 2 days, I felt normal. I could do all the normal activities prior to the pain and contemplated NOT even showing up for the one week follow-up. I'm glad I did. The x-rays did provide additional information which Dr. Xu showed me on his computer. He offered different diagrams and models so I had multiple opportunities to understand my issues. He was able to pinpoint and provide solutions. I had multiple follow-up questions to his findings and he patiently answered every one of my questions. I left the office knowing what I had to do to maintain good foot health and I know this doctor is going to be my go-to podiatrist moving forward. This must also be said. The receptionist named Doris is outstanding. She is quick, caring and calm in working the phones while tending to the patients in the waiting room.

Obviously, this lady did not know what she was doing even though she "had been doing her job for many years". The assistant who helped me at the front desk was also kind and considerate! Booking an appointment was easy. Once I arrived, there was little to no wait time. The waiting room and exam room were both clean, quiet, and comfortable. The elevator can take some time because this is a high-rise building. As a result, I just took the stairs when leaving the office since she is only on the 3rd floor. Parking was at first intimidating; however, I learned that off-side parking on 82nd Ave (one block away) is on Thursday and on Friday mornings, I believe (double check when you arrive, just to be sure). Metered parking starts at 9am. So, if you book your appointment in the morning on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday, and you arrive between 8:20am - 8:45am, you are likely to find parking there. Because the doctor is efficient, and there was no wait time, I was in and out without paying more than a dollar for parking! This may not be the case for you depending upon your needs and the actual time of your appointment, but I hope this info is helpful. The office is right off of Queens Blvd, so the train station and bus stop are also right nearby! I even had a prescription filled .... the front desk staff called it in within minutes, and my prescription was ready by the time I reached the pharmacy.
