I recently took my 2 young boys there for their first dentist checkup and I am so glad we took them to Anthem Pediatric Dentistry. The woman I spoke to to schedule their first appointment was extremely helpful and patient. She got all our information and was able to get us a date and time that worked for our schedule. The reception area is great. The office is so spacious and while it was busy, it didn't feel cramped. We were able to fill out our paperwork and didn't have to wait long until we were called back. Dr. West and his assistant were extremely patient and caring for our 2 kids who were nervous. I was so relieved to have a dentist for them who was so kind and understanding. SO MANY RED FLAGS Yesterday I took my 5 year old to Anthem Pediatric dentistry for only a consultation since I noticed a cavity. I told them it needs to be fixed as soon as possible since we're going out of town for Christmas. My daughter is scared of the dentist and I asked if they could help us with that. By this time he hasn't even looked in her mouth yet, no x-rays. But wants to put her to sleep and take X-rays and go ahead and do crowns on every teeth that has the smallest cavity, "it might be 10 teeth that need to be fixed" he said. Also he wanted to be clear and upfront about the fact that he doesn't do fillings on baby teeth, even if the cavity is small!?? Dr. Lo told me that he would refuse treatment on my 5 year old daughter if I didn't let him just do whatever he wanted. I'm beyond livid! How UNETHICAL AND DISHONEST!!! I told him that he can forget about ruining her healthy teeth and I would never accept that! I'm a dental hygienist from Europe and have family members who are dentists and never heard anything more fraudulent than this!! Save your money and your children's oral health and go somewhere else! BIG RED FLAG Please, ask questions and don't accept anything blindly. It's not normal practice to put a crown on a baby teeth and specifically if it's just a small cavity. You want to save the real teeth as much as possible. Crowns/caps are only for severe damage to the teeth. We don't do this type of procedure on baby teeth in Europe and probably most other countries in the world! Only in rare cases we do a crown on a baby teeth. We went in because my son had a major toothache. After going to another dentist we were referred here for a pediatric root canal. The dental assistant was so kind and went out of her way to make sure my son was comfortable. She made conversation with him that was relatable to his interests. It quickly helped him to be at ease. So while I would like to give this place five stars, I feel that customers should be aware going into there appointment. My son needed to have a few cavities taken care of. We were quoted $171.00. We scheduled the appointment. Went in and had the appointment and when it came time to pay, the bill was $80 more than the original quote. When we asked they said they had to do a couple different things while they were in there working on his teeth. They didn't ask not inform us during that time if we agreed or wanted to have this done. A little disappointed that they handled us/ the situation. Just be mindful if you are going there and get quoted to make sure that is what you will pay for. read more

DENTIST IS AMAZING! For upstairs. I am high disappointed by KRYSTAL telling me to reach out to insurance will take 4-6 WEEKS to start the process of braces. Trusted my mom instinct and called insurance myself, themselves never heard of that time frame. Rachel kept putting me on hold to let Krystal know what I was saying. I really liked the doctor but because I was given such little respect, maybe because I look so young being a mom or whatever the case maybe but I will never go back because of how I was treated. This is a very nice office, they took both of my kids in at the same time. They do X-rays for every visit. The Dr. his self seemed like he was rushing. The one bad thing about this place is that they CLOSE at 3pm!!! They are a pediatric dentist only see kids who are in school until 3pm. Makes absolutely no sense to me. My kids need to get some sealin for their teeth but their last appointment is at 3, so know I have to wait until school is out in May. read more

This is the nicest pediatric dentist office I have ever seen. In my life!!! This is their new location and we started coming here after they moved. The office is located conveniently at Eastern and Coronado intersection. Between Horizon Ridge and St. Rose Pkwy. When we were looking for a pediatric dentist, Anthem Pediatric Dentistry was recommended by almost every parent we knew. No joke. We see Dr. Ellsworth for all our kids. He is incredibly kind, patient and takes his time explaining things to us. Once you walk into the office, the front receptionist welcomes you. The staff all in all is very professional, friendly and great with the kids. The theme at this office is an aquatic theme. You'll find two large screen TV's that look like large fish tanks at the front desk. Then you walk into a large waiting area with plenty of plush armchairs that have outlets on each chair for your charging convenience. Brilliant!!! There are two TV's playing in the waiting room with a kids movie. They also have a small playroom with toys and iPads for the kids to play while they wait for their name to be called. There is also a secret movie room next to the waiting area. Cute idea. Even the bathroom is pretty and incredibly immaculate, it also has a mini potty for the kids. There is also a cool water dispenser to fill water bottles. The wait is never terrible here once you check in. They're actually pretty good on timing each time we have come here. Once the kids are called, you go back into the cool dentist chairs room. There are individual rooms but they also have rows of chairs lined up next to one another for siblings to sit together. Cool idea. The kids get sunglasses when the dental hygienists start to clean the kids teeth. There are TV's located on the ceiling so the kids can watch TV or a movie while they are getting their teeth cleaned. Then the dentist comes and completes the job. Each kid also gets a goodie bag with a toothbrush, toothpaste and floss. The decor here is done well and so much fun for the kids. There is also a hidden play room in the back with a train table. Once everything is done, the kids can grab a sticker and then head to the spinning wheel for a prize! What?!?! Why didn't we have dentist offices like this back in my day? When the kids need to have more work done on their teeth, like a tooth extraction, they get to pick a toy out of the treasure box! APD thinks of EVERYTHING!!! Danielle is the closing receptionist who helped us the last few times and she is super nice. Very calm demeanor, polite and friendly. I usually have questions regarding the bigger procedures and she is always so patient to explain everything to me so I fully understand. Very nice and friendly environment for kids to do their dental care. The waiting can be long but it's worth the wait.

A big fancy building doesn't mean diddly squat if the people you staff do not know how to professionally discuss patient matters or concerns over the phone. I had an appointment scheduled here for my sons and the day of received the standard reminder text regarding the first appointment starting at 1:30. It was taking a bit longer than usual to pull my kids out of class, so I attempted to call out of courtesy and inform them I may be at most 10 minutes late. I didn't get through and instead got a recording telling me the office was closed for lunch until 2:00pm. At that point I was confused as to why the appointment reminder was for 1:30 if they were closed. I looked at my calendar and it also said 1:30, but seeing as the recording told me they were closed - I opted not to take my sons out of school and planned to reschedule. Yes continuously called hoping to get through sooner and sort out the confusion. When I finally got through it was about 1:41. The receptionist or whatever she was, Bobett, was extremely rude and even worse, condescending. Apparently, as she explained, they don't in fact "close" but their phone lines shut down during those hours. Yet, their website, google, and every other online listing shows them as closed for lunch from 12:30pm to 2:00pm. She proceeded to tell me I should keep appointments as scheduled, in complete disregard of my confusion. I proceeded to tell her that while she is aware of how they operate, I am a new patient (my kids are) and we are unaware of these things. Really, regardless of whether we are new to the clinic or not, the information being given is contradictory. Bottom line, if I am seeing and hearing something that doesn't align with my appointment time, THEN I AM NOT COMING!!! Let alone pulling my kids out of school based on uncertainty. She then questioned my ability to remember things, repeatedly saying, well you made the appointment, right? And, when did you make it? And, it was you right? And then, yes it was you and it was just made on the 12th. Don't you remember? What the actual fuck?! I told her bottom line, this confusion is on your establishments part therefore I will not be charged $50 for cancellation. I then attempted to ask if I could bring one of my sons in, seeing as the first appointment started at 1:30 and there were two of them. She pretty much spoke over me and said, well we can't see them anyways so if you want to reschedule we can. A fed up me just wanted it to be over and did just that. Not long after I realized the whole ordeal was bullshit. I reorganized my day for those appointments, which wasn't happening, and my kids would have to wait another week and a half to be seen again. She never apologized for the misunderstanding and conflicting information and was super RUDE!! Yeah, no thank you!! So, I called back and cancelled. There are a a ton of other dentists here in the valley that are more deserving of my business. They aren't one. I'm not sure when people sitting behind a desk got such big balls and egos and figured it was okay to verbally spar with clients, patients, customers, etc. - especially when the person on the other end is politely seeking clarification and understanding. Take note. No one wants to be spoken to as if they are 3 and suffer from short term memory loss. Or, as if they're in a disagreement with their little sister. It may be time to run that customer service training again folks, your employees are getting rusty!!! read more

The dentist and front desk is awesome. The other staff not so much , no compassion and don't know how to work with kids which is sad considering this is a pediatric dentist office This is the 2nd time we go there and they ask my daughter " do you want a prize " and not follow through. Today the dr asked her if she wanted a prize and as soon as the dr walks away and my daughter who's 5 asks for her prize the hygienist or whatever she is goes you only get a prize for cleanings. Super rude it's a damn 5 cent toy. Don't let these kids down by promising something and than saying NO when the dr walks away. I can buy her her own toy. But THEY offer every time and now I have to explain to my child why they always tell her that and than not follow through. Also when my daughter had a dental emergency we didn't get a call back for a week after her surgery. And had to take her to the ER not a good experience going here. If it was just about the front and the dentist I would give a great review but their mediocre and rude staff who go against the dentists there are clearly untrained and not compassionate read more

Brought my daughter in for her first visit for a routine exam and cleaning the office is spot on a great environment for kids who have anxiety. I think my daughter had an okay appointment. I wasn't sure weather it was the hygienist or assistant that took care of her but she was very soft spoken and quick. We ended up just getting my daughter in to brush her teeth. X-rays was not done and I think if they took the easier x-rays first it might of gone better. They tried doing bitewing X-rays that scared her, she was done after that. APD was recommended by family. It was easy to get my children established as new patients. My 5 year old had an urgent issue and APD was able to get him in very quickly. Eddie was the tech who took care of my son's X-rays & cleaning. Eddie was phenomenal. He was professional, friendly, gentle, and funny. We were seen by Dr Cox who was also great. My 3 year old's second time here for routine teeth cleaning. From the moment you walk in you're greeted with warm regard from the front desk staff. The office is furnished with child friendly entertainment and furniture. My daughter especially loves the movie theater setup in the waiting room. Robin, our hygienist, was a true delight. She has a wonderful rapport with children and made my daughter feel comfortable and at ease every step of the way. Dr. Wes was the attending dentist, he was knowledgeable and efficient. Today we came in for pain in my sons tooth. Dentist visits are never fun when your son needs a tooth extracted. I guess an old filling had came out and it caused the tooth to get infected. Poor guy. Doctor Kinner worked with us. Michelle assisted and took care of my boy. I like how they talked to my 7 year old and let him know what they were doing every step of the way. Took my one year old for their first appointment and it was a great experience. The dental hygienist saw I was struggling with a baby in a carseat in addition to my toddler and offered to help carry the carseat (which I gracefully accepted). She was very patient with us and played with my toddler to get him to warm up. Everyone was really sweet with my children throughout the visit. The dentist came quickly and was friendly and knowledgeable. He had me hold my child while he dId the oral exam and teeth brushing. The dentist also explained everything as he did it and was very calm. The office was clean and had a calm ambience. We had a great first dental experience! We have been coming here for a couple of years and each time is a wonderful experience, from making the appointment (they are so nice and accommodating) to the fun waiting room always playing a Disney favorite, to the experience with the dental technicians and dentists. Today was another great example with Robin and Dr. Wes. Robin was so sweet with my girls and they felt comfortable and found it easy to take her direction. We ended up at Anthem Pediatric Dentistry several years ago after having a HORRIBLE experience at another pediatric dentist! We ended up getting recommended to Dr. Cox at APD. He is a wonderful pediatric dentist that helps put my children at ease. You know... cause the dentist can be a bit scary! When faced with a difficult dental decision for my oldest child, he gave his honest opinion of what he would do if "it were his own children". But it was a recommendation that was also very affordable and less painful and traumatic than the previous dentists recommendation. We absolutely LOVE this place. My Daughter didn't get her first teeth until just before her 1st birthday. I really want her to be comfortable with going to the dentist, so I took her in for her first visit when she was 18 months old. Of course, I want to be sure that her teeth are healthy too, but I really don't want her to be scared or have anxiety about going to the dentist. This office is near our house, and since they specialize in pediatric dentistry, we decided to give them a try. I was immediately impressed by the size and layout. There is a small playroom just off the waiting room, and there is also a small movie screening room too. The lobby area is comfortable and there is a lot of seating - most of the seats have USB ports/outlets so you can charge your phone while you wait. During our initial visit, we were taken to a small private room. The hygentist was really great and did a fantastic job of making my daughter feel comfortable. The dentist was also very nice, and you can tell that the staff really loves kids. When we were done with our appointment, we were walked back up front to check-out and schedule our next appointment. They have a large wheel that each kid gets to spin and get a prize. We've now taken her back for her 2nd visit, and this time she was such a big girl! We went to a larger, more open space with numerous chairs, but we were the only patient. There are TVs on the ceiling so that the kids can relax by watching whatever movie is playing (I wish my own dentist had this!). Overall, I am happy with our experience and really glad that we've chosen this practice for our daughters dental needs. read more
