I had a mixed experience at PRN Physical Therapy in El Centro…read more First, I want to recognize the front desk receptionist. She was welcoming, friendly, and provided excellent customer service from the moment I walked in. She made every visit pleasant. Unfortunately, my experience with the therapy staff was the complete opposite. I only saw my physical therapist once during my initial evaluation. After that, I never saw or spoke with them again. Most of the time, the therapists were gathered in their office area talking with one another instead of actively supervising patients. The quality of care from the aides was inconsistent. Some of the younger aides would simply tell you the name of an exercise without demonstrating it or giving clear instructions on the number of sets or repetitions. They would then walk away and return to chatting with the other aides, leaving patients to figure things out on their own. Unless you told them you were done. The one exception was Georgina, the PTA. She was attentive, knowledgeable, and always gave clear instructions. Even when she had to help other patients, she consistently came back to check on my progress and make sure I was performing the exercises correctly. She provided the level of care I expected throughout my therapy. Overall, I was disappointed with the lack of supervision and patient engagement from most of the therapy staff. Because of my experience, I will not be returning to this clinic. I hope management takes these concerns seriously, because patients deserve consistent guidance and attentive care during their rehabilitation. I'm giving PRN Physical Therapy in El Centro 2 out of 5 stars, and the only reason they're getting two stars instead of one is because of the amazing front desk receptionist and Georgina, the PTA.

I arrived on time, checked in, and because the front desk lady said because I was also on my phone when I was checking in she skipped me. She said because I was on my phone. I was not rude to her at all, and yes I was on my phone, but even though I was on an important phone call from social security disability administration office which I'd been waiting for over a year for. As I mentioned, because right before I walked into the office I received the call and was trying my hardest to not be rude to either party, I decided to keep the phone close to my ear and respond to the disability officer as promptly and politely as possible. When I directed Myself to the front office assistant, I said hello, did not disregard her questions, and was professional to her. Right before i walked away from the window at the front desk, I told her I'd be right back, it seemed to me she heard me. I ended up walking outside because the gentleman was asking me for some information I had to give him for my claim in the car, which was right outside, when I came right back in she told me she skipped me because she thought I'd left. I did Mention to her I had told her I'd be right back, she looked a little upset at me and told me three different things as I was trying to tell her my situation. 1st reason for her dropping my appointment-You left., 2nd., you were on your phone.3., I did not tell her that I'd be back. She went on to tell me the doctor had a meeting at a specific time and she cancelled my appointment due to all of the above. She didn't even provide me the time of day to explain to her my situation. She ened with telling me she canceled my appointment because I was on the phone very rudely she answered as if she would have gotten attended because I was on my phone when I was communicating with her. I know it is rude for me to do that, but I do know how to multitask and I am professional. I too am a professional woman just because o was not behind that window and I was a patient during this encounter, I still provided both parties with the upmost respect and time they deserved. I was given the option to sit and wait for the dr to finish his meeting and then he would see me. I said that was okay. Granted if he had a meeting and they had to cancel my appointment for his meeting, I did not step away from the office not even 10 minutes for them to cancel my appointment, nor did I receive a citrusy call to see if I was okay and if I was going to yet be seen. There were no efforts in communicating with me at all. This is my first initial appointment and now I don't even know if I want to continue seeing them. I will give them another chance hopefully my entire time here is not the same every time I visit. I will be hopeful and pray that this was just a terrible misunderstand and miscommunication somehow. I truly understand if he had an appointment after me, I just wish they would have made me feel like I was an important part of their community as well and given the same courtesy and kindness so we could have established a most respected relationship. Hoping for the best. If not I don't have many options here in the Imperial Valley though if I do continue to have these problems I will take it up to the agency who provides medical care and medical staff, as well as for looking for a new dr elsewhere. She got a crown and something else I can't remember but recently we got a reminder on the mail and my 5 yr old saw it said we need to go back so she pick her present again. I was impressed she was not afraid at all. You as a parent need to just sit down and don't talk because they know what to do, many times kids behave worse when we as parents are there trying to reasure them. So my advice. Let them do their job, they know what they are doing. If you as a parent can't handle it, then send the other parent lol

I also work in healthcare and understand how insurance and billing should be handled. When I arrived, I was told I needed to pay a coinsurance percentage before even being seen. I explained that I was willing to pay, but I wanted to verify the billing details first since this was different from my usual experience. The front desk initially offered to bill my insurance and connect me with their billing manager, which I appreciated. However, things quickly went downhill. Another woman called me up (without introducing herself) and insisted I pay the amount they calculated. I again explained that I was not refusing to pay--I simply wanted to confirm which CPT codes would be used so I could verify the estimate with my insurance. She appeared visibly annoyed and provided what she claimed were billing codes, but they were actually diagnosis codes--not CPT codes. As someone with healthcare experience, that was a major red flag. I calmly pointed out that it didn't make sense to already have diagnosis codes before I had even been evaluated by the provider. Additionally, they had already calculated coinsurance before any exam, which suggests predetermined billing practices. To my surprise, I later found out this individual was the chiropractor herself. Her response to reasonable questions was dismissive--she laughed, refused to provide proper billing information, and walked away. At that point, I declined treatment and left. This experience felt unprofessional, dismissive, and concerning from a billing transparency standpoint. Patients have every right to understand how they are being charged, especially before receiving care.
