My bike was returned to me with no operative rear brake, which they claimed was because of a bad seal which was not available. They tried to tell me I needed a new brake lever. When I took the bike to a nearby shop, Thunder's Bikes, they were able to repair the brake and noted that it had been broken. I deduce that BC Bikes broke my expensive SRAM lever and wouldn't admit it. And they charged me for it anyway. Terrible. Terrible. Terrible.

I have only used the store in Cabo twice now and I will no longer be going there. I can speak moderate Spanish as a gringo but technical bike issues I cannot communicate well in Spanish. I try. The person in the Cabo store does not even try to speank English. I know it's not my country so this should not be his issue. The problem I have is he does not say good morning or good afternoon when I come in and I am treated as if I'm bothering him. Customer service is in all languages and the Cabo store has little when it comes to feeling welcome. See the problem is they are selling 5 and 6 thousand dollar USD bikes in their shop so I would think that the American customer should be welcomed and be their target client. Very disappointed as I would love to do business with this shop, but if im in Cabo I will be looking for maybe not as high end gear shop but one that you feel welcome. Its ashame the owner does not understand that you can have all the greatest equipment but if the service is horrible clients will go elsewhere. I hope the owner sees this message as the shop has great potential if the service component was their. I will go to the shop in San Jose and see if service is better. However, with regards to the conviently located store for me I will be going elsewhere.

I am a first-time efoiler but an experienced wakesurfer and was excited to learn. The price and…read moreshort duration of 1 hour were attractive to me and much better than the US. I asked if they had helmets when I booked and they said yes, but I assumed they had full-length wetsuits. Wrong assumption. They do not. I recommend you wear a full wetsuit if you have one or can find one or a long-sleeve rasher and anything to cover your knees. They do give you a good life jacket. Remember to sunscreen your back shoulders if you do not have a rasher or sun shirt. I now have a visible vest tan. You will be learning in the comically crowded port of Cabo San Lucas. When I went in, there might have been 30 moving vessels in the water and 50 parked vessels. It was the busiest water I have ever seen, and I boat 10 times a year. Next thing is watch out for wind and choppy water. It makes learning much harder. Try to time with the least wind possible. Next is try to avoid the arrival of the cruise ships as they put dozens of boats in the water ferrying 3000 people off the ship. I am right-handed and I surf goofy, but next time I go I will switch the strap and use my left hand for the remote so I can use my strong hand to hold the board and get up on my right leg. You should watch videos on how to efoil, which I did, but none of them went into detail about how much you have to pay attention to the remote trigger and how smoothly you have to accelerate and hold power. The amount of training they give on-shore is only 7 minutes. The instructor goes out with you on another board and his advice and direction are critical, particularly managing the trigger. He said focus on the trigger as he could tell that's where I was failing. The trigger will not work at all if the nose of the board is not 10 inches above the water. So you start on your stomach, build steady speed, go to knees, go to front leg, and then stand on both. Then you will fall in because you will add too much power or back off the trigger and cause it to cut power. Then you will repeat this over and over and in the process, your forearms, stomach, and knees will be rashed raw and start to burn in the seawater. I was close to bleeding. Very unpleasant. So unpleasant that after 30 minutes, I did not want to attempt anymore and was ready to go back to shore and try again another day with a wetsuit and in freshwater. An experienced ocean surfer came back with one raw and one cut knee, so it was not only my lack of surfing experience. 1 hour will be the max most people can do. Advice to you and the business, ask them to bring the board 150M down the beach where there are fewer vessels and people, so you can save the time and energy navigating out of the traffic. The people are very nice and helpful and the price is a good value for this new sport.
