When I have a 3 year old with me, this is always my first stop. Their children's section is MASSIVE And adorable. There are padded benches for you to sit on while your children browse. When it's your time to look, they have a table with coloring pages and toys to keep your children entertained too! One of my favorite things is that they hide a plushie of Where's Waldo, and when your child finds it they get to pick a prize from the box. They also have a basket of stickers for you to choose one to take with you. For the adults there is also a high top table with chairs where you can sit and color or do whatever activity they have laid out. Their bathrooms are always clean, and easy to access. They offer used books for all ages, and they also have Blind Date with a Book for you to buy. During certain times they have also offered cutouts for you to write down your favorite book and post it on their window. Their staff is always pleasant and helpful. I also love their rewards program! It's super simple to sign up and even though I do not buy a ton of high priced books I have already benefitted from the rewards. It's definitely a must visit bookstore!

I can also order books and have them receive the credit for that if they don't happen to have it in stock. They are also willing to order for me. Both of those things matter to me, since it gives me a lot of value for my money. If I'm going to be in the area, I can stop by and pick it up but because I live about half an hour away (& still patronize them) if my time is jammed up, I can just get it through the mail. Seriously beats using Amazon! It's so nice to use a local business!

Not gonna lie I was starting to get overwhelmed, and it is pretty dusty in there. It's super stuffed with so many books and other physical media. I appreciate that they have a classics section on the first floor to easily look for the most popular books, and I found one book to buy. I love that they are truly dedicated to used and rare books. There's so much to discover here. They also have some postcards and vintage valentine cards at the front, which I looked through and found one I liked. The prices are great too, and they also have a few free books near the entrance.

This bookstore is tied for second best in the area for me…read more The inventory is varied and well-priced, with enough turnover that there is usually something new for me whenever I return. There are no new books, just an excellent selection of hardcovers and paperbacks. The book smell is a 2/10, which on my scale is the pleasant smell of nostalgia and antiquity without the borderline aroma of musty questionability. The only two people I have seen there seem to be quiet but friendly and knowledgeable about the inventory. A nice throwback is the manual credit card slider if you've never seen one. I appreciate the variety of the children's section, a well-stocked science fiction section, and a small cabinet of collectible titles. The adult corner of the store seemed seedy and out of place. If you're a fan of used bookstores, you'll place this in the category of quaint and interesting; worth your time to check out. Note that this is a used bookstore, not a place selling unwanted library books! Parking is tight, but there are a few spots behind the store reserved for customer use.

Books are grouped into sections and appear to mostly be titles from the last twenty years. The ratio of paperbacks to hardcovers is high. A lot of options for avid contemporary readers as everything is a well-priced value. Sections also include an excellent well-stocked kid's area. I found the books to be neat and well-organized. The uniqueness of this bookshop is in its eclectic array of items beyond the books. There is a little of everything from records, comics, graphic novels, and other unique and interesting items. Nothing seems to be high-end collectibles, just fun, interesting stuff nerds like me like to see when they go shopping. I thought the staff was friendly, and overall, a unique experience. I will be back. Not a place for people looking to acquire ephemera, vintage, antiquarian, or collectible first editions. Heads up, the parking out front, I thought, was quite treacherous. Be aware that the main road is busy, and cars are coming fast.

Collectors, stay away…read more I reached out to Cosmic Comics with a serious comic collection. I didn't just send random pictures -- I took the time to organize a detailed ledger and portfolio because I wanted to do business the right way. Instead of a professional conversation, I was met with disrespect, arrogance, and a level of dismissiveness that was completely unnecessary. They didn't have to make an offer. They didn't have to buy my collection. But there is no excuse for treating a collector bringing you potential business like they are a problem. Remember, collectors are the reason comic shops have inventory. Every book on those shelves came from someone who spent their money, time, and passion building a collection. If you're looking to sell or trade your comics, I would seriously consider other options before bringing your collection here.
