It was only after booking my plan for an upcoming trip to Stockholm, Sweden that I even thought of reviewing Comparethemarket.com on Yelp! Compare the Market has one of the biggest areas to compare prices in terms of insurance (travel, car, home, life, business, travel) and has recently even stepped up to comparing prices for day to day appliances such as broadband, tv and phone and even mobile phone plans - they seem to be one of the few providers to go across all mobile phone networks including EE, Three, Tesco, O2, Vodafone, Sky and more - they even seem to include some of the smaller brands which Carphone Warehouse and co (the biggest on the market for that industry with many retail stores) don't even cover! I like how they also reward loyalty through the Meerkat app, named after the pun (and the animated meerkats who do their adverts), it allows policyholders (even if you buy one-day travel insurance in the UK for just over a pound) to get 241 at many restaurants (it is powered by Tastecard - there are many restrictions which limit using it, however) as well as discounts going to the movies/cinema. The interface online is easy to use, and it's pretty easy to filter for any medical conditions or the amount of cover/excess you need, I also like how they seem to include all tariffs in your required order rather than using advertising of pushing their affiliated providers to the top, which many others tend to do. I do feel being able to rate providers via the website would be pretty good as obviously, they use hundreds and the cheapest and ones which might sound the best on paper obviously won't always work out the best - but overall this is a great application and useful tool to get the cheapest insurance or even appliances from broadband to a sim only deal with a nice reward for using them compared to other price comparison websites who might have the same exact deals for the same prices in certain areas, but you're getting rewarded at the same time making their offering superior. 4*

However, they are let down by the way they operate, which is doubtless dictated to by head office,. There can be large queues at the tills but staff are still on the shop floor, trying to sell you insurance etc. More emphasis on servicing existing products and customers may help retain customers - I for one have closed my account as I am fed up with the queues.

There is disabled access and then the traditional sense of dark wood carries on in the banking hall but with a modern twist of glass and technology. Good, efficient service once they acknowledge that you are there. The staff certainly like to finish their business before getting anymore. All in all, an average banking experience. Nothing too spectacular but nothing drastic. I simply visit to pay money in and conduct no other business there mainly as I don't feel welcome enough.

The staff on the whole are quite friendly however there are some members of staff who could do with re training on their customer service skills, but the majority are very friendly and helpful. There is plenty of room within the bank for prams and pushchairs. There are cash point machines located inside the foyer of the bank and outside on the street. The bank also now opens on a Saturday mornings for all of your banking needs.

Many of the staff have been there a long time, so have both product and customer knowledge. However, they are let down badly by their customer services counter. This is located at the head of the queue for the counters, so everyone queuing up can here your business. Private areas are available, but only if you ask. I for one don't want everyone over-hearing my business!
