Well, I really didn't want to do this, but I have given this couple every opportunity for the last 2 weeks to give me the part that I bought from them for $165. I think thats only fair.
A couple of weeks ago, on Oct 12th, 2024, I saw a post on ND with this woman advertising her appliance repair company "Anns Mobile Appliance Repair". I reached out to this company in hopes of getting my dishwasher fixed. It needed a control panel replacement and, being less than proficient when it comes to toying with electricity, I decided to hire Ann and her husband. To begin with, I sent her (or him - at this point it's unclear WHO I was texting) a message with a picture of my model number. Apparently, something happened to his phone and he lost the picture. No big deal, I resent it. They agreed to come out the next day and they did show up. Both of them along with their young son. No big deal, again, I know people have to work and sometimes babysitters aren't always available. He agreed with me that the control panel needed to be replaced and told me that I could buy the part from him and then he would install it. So, I sent Ann $165.00 and she made me a promise that the delivery was showing a couple of days. We planned for him to return Tuesday. Awesome. Tuesday came and Tuesday went and no one called me or showed up. SO I reached out to HER and she let me know that it would be another week (Monday, the 21st). Monday came and Monday went and no one called me or texted me or showed up. I reach out again and AGAIN she says "We are still having a hard time locating your part they keep sending the wrong one out. Hopefully by the end of this week we should have the right one.." to which I said "Okay, thats fine. Let me know if you can't meet the end of the week promise date". Again, the promised day came and went and I didn't hear from her on ND or through any text messages. Now, I am a pretty patient person but at this point I'm beginning to feel duped so I message her on both ND and send her a text message and she tells me 1) I dont use ND often (which is weird because that's where you're advertising your services) and 2) her husbands phone hasn't been working and they've been "fighting with the phone company over it". But, I'm kind to her and I tell her yes ma'am I understand, things happen but I do not wish to move forward with the installation. I am calling someone else, but would like the part I paid $165 for. So, for the last week and a half I have been trying to get them to meet me somewhere or let me come and pick this part up but they have been dodging me and giving me the run around. I am at the point where I'm just ready to cut my losses and move on and chalk it up to NextDoor LESSON LEARNED, but I wanted to share here (and anywhere else they happen to be registered at) so that someone else doesn't get taken for a ride like I did. read more
