I was traveling to Waterford for a date and looking for a florist to grab dinner flowers when I…read morespied a sign before Milford road for Colasanti's and thought they must have fresh flowers. I was in a rush but wanted to take a quick look around for this review. I saw singe great produce, a pre-made food counter, lots of cheeses and a beverage department with a huge wine selection, an enormous beer inventory and an assortment of other refreshments. I'll be back in to shop for quality ingredients but it met my needs today. I asked the lady at the checkout booth who told me that they had subs fresh tulips at the head of the checkout lanes. I grabbed a bunch and some waters and split. This was an unexpected find that was just what I needed.

These guys, at least when I have been they are all guys, know their booze. They know their beer…read more They know their wine. They know their spirits. They are not shy about offering suggestions or ideas, and they are willing to bring in almost anything, if it's not in stock. And not having something in stock would be fairly surprising because they carry a broad selection in all alcohol departments. Their soda and juice selection is okay for a liquor store as is their section of snacks. They carry Michigan brands in items like chips, pretzels, etc. Also, in the back of the store to the right is a small deli, that is often overshadowed by the wine section. They make sandwiches and have some prepackaged foods. The service is always friendly and fun, and usually fairly quick, though they can be seem a bit disorganized when there is a crowd.

Spotted the solid yelp reviews for Hamlet Liquor & Wine Basket and decided, even though it was out of the way, to head over, grab some vino and support a local business -- especially once with such a great name. Our enthusiasm was misplaced. The store was small, the selection was limited, and the prices were 30 percent higher than the same bottle at other stores. We were not greeted when we entered; were ignored as we browsed while the two women staffing the store talked loudly with one another, swearing a blue streak; and were not acknowledged when we eventually made for the door and walked out. Ended up getting a nice Josh cab sav @ the nearby Kroger for under $14, while Hamlet wanted $19 and change. To be or not to be? With this Hamlet, it's a big not.

Blatantly Racist Experience…read more I don't normally leave reviews, but my experience at this store was unacceptable. Upon entering, the clerk immediately fixated on me while completely ignoring other patrons of different races. He even paused his conversation to say, "One second, I need to watch him." That level of bias and disrespect is disgusting. No customer should be treated differently based on their skin color. If you aren't fair-skinned, save yourself the humiliation and take your business elsewhere.

They also offer food options and that's what brought me in. Wanted a little bit of everything. So I ordered a Chicago style pizza, an 8" Italian sub and a small antipasto salad. Took about 15- 20 minutes to make, as it looked like it was closed when I inquired about their food. There was nothing being made, nothing hot or fresh offered in a warmer or at the counter. All made to order I suppose. The food is okay. It's not banging by any means. The antipasto is weak. You can count the olives and toppings they added to basic bed of lettuce. $8 for this and its true value is probably half that. Tomatoes were translucent and super thin. The sub is nothing more than a gas station pick up. Very light on the meat for an Italian. Like the onions though. $10 for that, true value is probably $6 or less. The Chicago style pizza smelled awesome and looks pretty good but they didn't add the sauce on top?? Not sure why. Ended up being more of a large arsed calzone. Still decent and cheesy but also seemed very salty. Very filling as well. Overall a dense pie that I wouldn't necessarily go out of my way for. Overall a fine stop for quick pick ups but I felt as if any top shelf gas station or convenience store matches what they offer and at a lesser price.
