One of my rules is to try to eat where the locals eat, and this fitted the bill perfectly. Most of the clientele seemed to be people on a shopping trip, which meant it was crowded and noisy, but not annoyingly so.And, it was inexpensive.Their Beef and Guinness stew came in a generous serving, which looked even more generous as it was piled atop a goodly portion of boiled potatoes. And, it tasted as good as it looked.

Now as you can see in the photo, the crab landed in front of me with a big ole cup of mayonnaise..... hmmm ..... Now normally I don't dream of steamy crab legs covered in hellmans, but thanks to a few pints I was feeling brave. You will just have to try it yourself if you are feeling dubious, but mix in some fresh lemon juice with that white goop and dip away - that is a tasty mess! Who would have thought crab and mayo? Go figure. Oh and the beer in the pics is not some blonde mess (i don't like the loaf of bread in a glass) it is Smithwicks ale - pronounced smith-icks - which seems to taste pretty dang good with everything.

The menu changes every day and is set but they ask you before if you have any particular requirements or food you don't eat but we just went with what they offered and wow, every single item was outstanding. Starters included raw langoustines, turbot with samphire and ham with peas. The main was chicken which I thought it could be boring but was delicious. There 2 or 3 desserts all amazing.
