The waiting room has a nursery feel to it. I love the chairs and ottomans. Tons of seating in the waiting room!

I love that there is barely any wait time and I am in and out for my OB check ups very quickly. Dr. Kyzer seems to be very thorough and takes appropriate precautions. She is very competent and as a new patient I already feel like I can trust her judgement. She has hospital privileges at St. Thomas as well as Centennial. I love her nurse, Michelle, who is always friendly and professional. The office decor is adorable and looks like something out of a nursery rhyme. The chairs in the waiting room are comfortable and plenteous. There are even ottomans for tired Mom's to Be to rest their weary feet on. They draw bloodwork right there in their office and the ladies that handle it are sweet and good at what they do. The only draw back in my opinion is that it always takes me 15 minutes or so to try to find a space in the parking garage and then it is another 5-10 minutes of waiting for/ riding 2 different elevators and walking to get to their office. Considering my experiences at other practices compared to my experience at Dr. Kyzer's practice I can easily say it has been the best by a long shot! I highly recommend her.

Not only by her but one of her nurses who patronized me on the phone. Reasons for 1 star- No bedside manners. Impersonal. Lack of communication. Lack of compassion or concern. Unprofessional. Poor experience management. I was never communicated with or checked on after surgery. I was neglected by the doctor. She never called. She refuses to speak with me even after I called and spoke with her nurse who was unprofessional and rude. She never apologized. I never knew what happened with the surgery. She works for Vanderbilt but did my surgery at Tennova. My appointment was scheduled almost 2 months ahead of time but had to wait 5 hrs before I was brought in for surgery. In good hospitals 2 hrs is the limit. They put the saline IV in me hours before the surgery and without me knowing used a catheter during surgery. It would have not been needed if they didn't inject me with water for hours longer. Something was off, I almost walked out but I really needed the surgery so I stayed hoping there was an explanation and gain confidence speaking with the doctor but I never got the chance to and she never went over the procedure with me. Before I could finish talking to the nurse about the procedure and speak with the doctor for clear confirmation they put me under. When I come to, Dr Dowell had already left the hospital when I woke from surgery. I was treated like a number and not a human. I was neglected by my Dr. and left in the dark about my surgery. Actions speak louder than words and I didn't even get the right words either. Big Mistake I do not trust this Dr. Beware.

No longer privy to the Vanderbilt Student Health Center I had to grow up and look for my own…read moredoctor! I ended up coming across Dr. Nancy Lipsitz of Heritage Medical Associates and had a great experience! To start, the medical building has free parking, which already made me happy. Dr. Lipsitz shares a suite with a few other doctors, and their waiting room doesn't have that super uncomfortable waiting room feel to it, which was nice. Mostly by that I mean that it wasn't just chalk full of books and magazines on babies and parenting (which drives me insane), but instead also offered reading materials for those of us who aren't in the baby making business (I spent some time looking at wine and sports magazines). The receptionist was friendly, and I didn't have to wait at all once I filled out my entry form. The exam room was a bit cold, which isn't fun when you aren't wearing much in the clothing department, however, Dr. Lipsitz made me so comfortable I didn't care. She was nice and friendly, she clearly is good at what she does, and though its never fun to be poked and prodded she made me comfortable and didn't drag it out. Thank you Dr. Lipsitz.

I had a fairly long wait, however, once Dr. Lipsitz walked in she immediately apologized and made me feel comfortable and at ease. She was wonderful and Id recommend her to anyone looking an awesome gyno!

I quickly realized that people can be very negative about this, and lots of women think it is crazy not to choose an epidural. Dr. McGuire never once told me that I couldn't do it. She was so wonderful, and I know that her support and positivity were part of the reason that I had such a great natural birthing experience. She always makes you feel like you are the only patient she has all day, and the wait is never long. I did wait for about 20 minutes one time. That was because she was delivering a baby at the hospital. When she arrived, she was so cool, calm and collected. She never seems stressed, and you can tell that she really loves what she does. It sounds crazy, but after my son was born, I was sad to go back to seeing her only once a year! I recommed her to all of my friends.

Since having my third baby and an emergency surgery with Dr. Crowe in September 2018 (it's my third…read morechild, but the only baby I've had under Dr. Crowe's care to be clear), I've been telling every woman I know that if they're looking for an OB/gyn, they need to call Women OB ASAP. Like, even without prompting and when it's unsolicited, I rave about my experience and the skilled, empathetic care I've received from Dr. Crowe and Women OB. What stands out about my experience with Dr. Crowe are two things: (1) compassionate and empathetic communication, and (2) highly knowledgeable and skilled care. Dr. Crowe patiently answered each of my questions, including both the logical ones and what I'm sure were some illogical ones. And I ask a lot of questions; like, I wanted to know the specific dose of medication that was going to be used for my induction to make sure it was within the range recommended by the World Health Organization. (I might be a little bit of a high-strung patient.) If you have questions or concerns about something related to your care, let her know. She'll respond with kindness and concern for your well-being and general experience as a patient and human. There was a point during my long induction when my nurse and I both started to wonder if my baby had flipped into a breech position. A tech at the hospital was going to do an ultrasound to confirm the baby's position, but instead Dr. Crowe came in during the middle of the night to personally do the ultrasound herself. (This was in addition to checking on me regularly throughout the induction, of course.) When the nurse said Dr. Crowe didn't need to come in just to do the ultrasound -- Dr. Crowe said (in reference to me), "if she was going to get any bad news, I wanted it to come directly from me." This is to say: my experience was that Dr. Crowe does not take her commitment to her patients lightly. I also had some complications after giving birth that resulted in an emergency surgery. Dr. Norman was the doctor on call at the time. I appreciated her quick decision making and the fact that she communicated with me clearly as she evaluated me and made the decision to proceed to surgery, explaining to me and my husband the course of anticipated events, what she recommended once it was clear surgery was needed, and answering our questions without losing time before getting me into surgery. Given that it was an emergency situation, it would've been easy for a doctor to skip over the communication with me and my husband and just rush into surgery. I was so grateful for this care and intentional communication balanced with acting quickly in an emergency situation. And! Dr. Crowe came in at 10pm to perform the surgery alongside Dr. Norman. In a very scary event, it made me feel like I was in great hands and receiving really skilled care to know there were not one but two stellar surgeons in the operating room performing my surgery. After the fact, Dr. Crowe told me that in this practice, they always aim to have two surgeons working together in the operating room in such an event. I thought that was awesome. I also have several friends who are using or have used other doctors in this practice and they've reported similar experiences of being thrilled with the quality of their care and communication with their doctor. As an added bonus, the Women OB office and waiting room are a lovely space; they had an awesome interior design firm do the space and it shows. Instead of the years-old magazines you find in the waiting rooms of most doctors' offices, this office has interesting and beautiful books to flip through about interior design, women, poetry and more. While a beautiful doctor's office might sound frivolous, it's incredibly intentional; in an appointment with Dr. Crowe, she told me she knows it can be unpleasant, painful, or even traumatic for women to go to the gynecologist / OB. They want to create the most comfortable space possible for women to receive care. You should definitely follow their Instagram account -- @womenobnashville -- both to get a feel for the general vibe of the practice and just for some great, inspiring women-centric content. I loved this item from one of their recent Instagram posts and thought it was a sweet summary of how Dr. Crowe and this team aim to care for their patients: "You may have noticed we have a bunch of plants in our office. The light from all the windows is amazing for them whether it be the fig, lemon and olive trees or the orchids and African violets. We hope that seeing plants being loved on and cared for will help create an environment where you feel safe and secure in your most vulnerable moments, knowing that we pay attention to living things even when they don't say a word."

"Womens Obstetrics and Gynecology" is Dr. Donna Crowe's practice…read more Trying to schedule a damn appointment for 10 days is simply absurd, only for them to tell me to go to the health dept. This practice has let me down more than once, when I went through a miscarriage in January, I wasn't even allowed to see the doctor, despite it having been made very clear I was a high-risk patient for a pregnancy. I'm absolutely astonished by the treatment I've received by this practice. I work in a medical office, so I am well-versed on how it works. Would never set foot in this place again.
