Opted for the salmon which was delicious - chunky chips are a must have. Partner had the eternal favourite 8 hour lamb, which everyone raves about. Good selection of wines. The place is always busy except when its closed and the food is excellent. Each time I go out for food in whitehaven I nearly always end up in there. Its lovely to sit outside in the summer and watch the swans and geese in the harbour.

The once and only time I have sat in, the service was so appalling I could not belive that a coffee chain could be so poor. The tables were left full, uncleaned and the floors looked to be unswept. Ordering at a bar, there appeared to be one girl serving who was doing all the work and was concerned about customer service - the others appeared half asleep, lethargic and bordering on offensive. When my coffee eventually arrived - luckily I don't take it with milk so it wasn't too cold - it was slammed down onto the table leaving half he contents in the saucer. My next visit was for a 'takeaway', again service was very slow and lethargic and the same poor girl was buzzing about whilst the others propped themselves up against the counter.
