They just don't create doctors like Dr. Steinberg anymore. She is the best and make you feel so comfortable and she cares.

I had read about them in "The Price we Pay", by Marty Markary, MD, retired Johns Hopkins surgeon and critic of America's health care system. He saw Iora as a light in the dark and dirty world of medical greed and profit. With optimism, I joined, happy to leave my conventional (read: too busy and careless) old line practice of two decades. There was the Piedmont primary physician who had ignored my husband's out-of-whack liver results for weeks until he be specialist sounded the alarm that he needed emergency surgery, all indicated by the blood results the primary had ignored, despite numerous unreturned phone calls. We both left that practice that had been characterized for years by the doctor's tardiness and unresponsiveness. I tried Emory's Primary Care. This time I got a newly minted MD, marking time in primary care until she could qualify for one of the lucrative specialties, like cosmetic surgery. She misdiagnosed a chest x-ray and had an assistant call me and casually ask what I wanted to do about my aortic aneurism! When I requested a call from the doctor, I was told she was out for the week, but wouldn't talk to me on the phone anyway, so I had to make an appointment. A minute before, the non-physician, had wrongly informed me that I had a deadly condition that might rupture without warning and kill me. I got a recommendation for yet another old-line practice that I didn't know was being bought out by private equity, expanded to multiple strip mall locations, all of which were bare bones - a doctor, receptionist, nurse, and equipment to take vitals - which I have at home. There was another that was by subscription, requiring use of an app. Silicon Valley trying to uberize, gamify and degrade another business. Now comes Iora, for which I had hopes. After about a year, most of the care involved nurse-practitioners giving ridiculous, inappropriate and useless advice probably gleaned from Instagram influencers. The first problem, and it's a big one, is that they have none of the important diagnostic equipment that medical practices used to have as standard. So the basically healthy patient ends up spending all their time making appointments at hospitals and imaging centers. But at least everyone was friendly and pleasant. Their advertising touts an employee called "health coach" which also sounds like an Instagram influencer. I didn't like the location, a long, complicated drive, but at least it was a free-standing building with plenty of parking in a big box store mall. I was greeted immediately and waited only a few minutes. The doctor was a very pleasant young woman. My history was taken by a third person, who typed the conversation into the computer. It was better that the doctor wasn't focused on entering data instead of looking at me. So far, so good. I had no medical complaints, but just wanted to have a base visit. Then the phlebotomist tried to draw blood. She was terrible. Had to stick me repeatedly, ignored my instruction that my right elbow vein can't be accessed. I was black and blue and she only got half the blood required. I stayed for two years. One day I got a letter that Iora is now One Medical, purchased by Amazon for $3.9B. Next visit, the office was even more stripped down. No stenographer, no health coach. Just the doctor and me. She's taking notes, just like in the past. There was still no ECG or ultrasound, no bone scan equipment, no vein-finder (which Amazon sells at a low price, and could have made the blood draw easier. I am driving 30 miles each way in heavy highway construction for no reason. The doctor orders normal annual tests at a hospital complex. It was left to me to spend hours navigating what was likely the world's worst phone system. One Medical had no employees to handle this burden. Forgot to mention that I did come in once with swelling and pain in my leg. The Nurse suggested physical therapy, with no diagnosis. Then she suggested an x-ray. Of course they have no x-ray machine, something available at most medical offices, even urgent care walk-ins. I had been sent on several missions for imaging, only to find there had been no change since the last one. I'm becoming suspicious that One Medical has a financial relationship with certain specialists and facilities. I have moved to a concierge practice, which I've visited once and was rushed, wasn't given 24-hour contact info or a list of services as promised and my first complete physical will only take 30 minutes. US medical system is all profit and little actual medical care. No wonder there are so many Instagram stars.

So this review is personal yet meaningful. I hope I succeed in sharing some insight and positivity…read moreto you all! This week I had had to take a visit to see the specialist to see Dr. Rangarajan. For the past couple of years, I had not been feeling like myself and things started to escalate the end of 2025. Long story short I have been having random fainting spells. I'm very winded just doing the simplest things like going up a flight of stairs, extreme fatigue, and just not feeling like my normal self. The last straw was an evening out with my sister and me having a random fainting spell while dining at a restaurant. She had never seen this happen to me and it was very scary and eye-opening which led to Dr. Rangarajan at Piedmont Heart Institute Brookhaven Cardiology. I must say my visit was very enlightening, very resourceful. Dr. Rangarajan was very thorough showed compassion and demonstrated stellar bedside manners! Even his physician assistant was top-notch. I left feeling educated of the necessary steps, he's taking to ensure we get to the bottom of why I'm having the fainting episodes and find a resolution which brings me sense of relief. Just a note to everyone please take care of your health, especially your heart and vascular health. It has no age limit. My significant other had an unexpected heart attack January 2025 at 43 years young. I'm so thankful he's still here with us! However, it doesn't always turn out this way as six months later we lost two friends and a family member to massive heart attacks all well in their early to late 40s. I'm grateful to have found a specialist who cares about my well-being and is taking his time to ensure all the necessary screenings/ test are scheduled. Do not wait for an ache or pain to get checked. Please take the time to go get your screenings. Make your heart health your priority! If you are looking for a cardiologist, I highly recommend Piedmont Heart Institute Brookhaven Cardiology. Ask for Dr. Rangarajan. The office building is visible & easy to access off of Peachtree Rd. The office building is connected to a Walgreens pharmacy. There is plenty of "free" parking in the parking garage. I did not get as many photos of the office as intended but I'll try to remember my next visit. I hope this review was helpful.

Today I stopped in to ask if Dr. Aimee could perform an injection for sciatica and to make sure they had this medicine in stock. Just that question only, before I went to the emergency room. What I experienced was a total different no customer service attitude response to my kindness and concern. This is nothing like the medical professional service that we are use to experiencing. I stood at the front desk for 10 minutes before I was greeted. Once the young lady appeared I was immediately given an attitude for no reason and she would not make eye contact nor apologize for keeping us waiting as three employees were laughing and socializing. They looked at us and we looked at them through the entry door window that leads back to the treatment area. I asked if I could call her right quick on the phone she said no. I said I could email her. She will not assist with that. She said if I did they would get back to me in a few days as I'm standing there with no one in the waiting room and no patients coming or going. She told me I would have to pay $150 and then she would see me (Dr. Aimee.) Super unprofessional all around. It is very disappointing as I am in tremendous pain and wanted to see a physician I could trust. My family and I will not be coming back.

The administrative staff is rude and combative, especially the office manager. My last visit was a follow-up for blood work, which somehow took an hour. The office manager, who was not wearing a mask, would not let my partner accompany me inside due to Covid. One would think that she would be wearing a mask if Covid was a concern, but alas. They sent my pharmacy conflicting prescriptions, the blood work left a bruise for over a week, every appointment take at least an hour, usually closer to 2 hours, you spend all of your time waiting in a room before talking to a PA for maybe 5 minutes. It's an all around awful experience.

Dr. Smiddy spent more than 30 minutes, one on one, going over my medical history and was steadfast in his pursuit of details regarding my health. He's also a bit of a rare find in that he possesses a very keen sense of listening. Furthermore, while the results of my bloodwork were good and unloaded into the patient's portal the following morning, Dr. Smiddy had an associate call me just to reassure me that everything was fine, which is a courtesy I've not experienced since patient records were put online. I came in for a visit about a lump in my chest in DEC 2024, and Dr Brown and his team DID NOT SEND THE REFERRAL FOR A MAMMOGRAM UNTIL JUNE 2025; and only did so after I called over and over and finally wrote a bad review for them. I complained then, and nothing... Then when I went back in for a follow up on the findings, Dr Brown and his team decided to just leave me sitting in the exam room for 45min with no word and were acting surprised that I got up and left. Then I rescheduled only for them to call and cancel the appointment randomly the day before with no reason. It is now OCT 2025, and literally NOTHING has been done beyond the mammogram that took 6 months to be sent. NO follow up, NO referral to address findings and NO callback from Dr Brown to even advise what was found. I'm ready to complain to the GA Composite Medical Board. I've called countless times and advised that I want a different physician handling my care as Dr Brown and his team are just NOT IT; and all the management has done was advise that I should come see Dr Brown and then nothing at all. They choose not to return calls, even after they advised they will look into something and call you back.. Management could not care less about the patient needs. Am I missing something??? I am not a fan of Dr Brown, I do not trust him being my physician and I do not want to be his patient AT ALL. My original doctor (Dr Melton) who was amazing retired (or just ran away from this place) and they just assigned this man to me and the care has been trash ever since. They tell you they are sending a referral, but they don't for months. They say they will return your call, but they don't. You come in to an appointment on time and depending on the doctor they've just stuck you with, you'll be sitting in the exam room staring at the walls for 45min every single time you visit. For your own sake, GO ELSEWHERE... To be a healthcare facility, the care is pretty trash. Dr Brown is insanely terrible, management is insanely incompetent and so forth and so on. The very moment Absolute Care became Avita Care, ALL the care went out the window. This place would be better off turned into a Starbucks. I never had any of these problems when Dr Melton was my physician, and this is ridiculous.
