We have been traveling for over 6 weeks, and, 3,000 miles from home, I experienced a sudden, and severe, ear infection. I found Anna kind, compassionate, and very competent. She also brings a sense of humor to the room, which I very much appreciate. She treated my condition very appropriately, and I have made significant progress. AVOID this place at all costs. I wish I read the other reviews before I made an appointment. I went for a simple antibiotics prescription for allergies. Doctor Anna Aronzon MD preformed a series of useless and unnecessary tests (I got a second opinion). I then received a 400$ bill despite telling her I only want a prescription. They scam patients for tests and over charge the insurance companies. If you read the other reviews they have an average of 1.5 stars for this reason. Note- because of their bad reviews they have two accounts on yelp. This one is the new one. They have a rude office manager named Sarah Williams who treats patients like a collection department. I filed a complaint at the New York state health department and apparently I'm not the first. Avoid this doctor and office at all costs. read more

Dr Aronzon diagnosed that my clogged ear was due to a middle ear infection. Prescribed antibiotics and some nose spray and a week later I'm cleared up! She was very thorough, courteous and worked pretty quickly. Great ENT read more

I wish I would have looked at the Yelp reviews for Dr Aronzon's office (ENT and Allergy) before I booked my appointment on ZocDoc. I had a similar experience that numerous other reviewers on here have had with the office about being left with a high bill for superfluous procedures. I went to see Dr Anna Aronzon in the Financial District for some lingering side effects after scuba diving. After a short visit filled with "I'd like to look at this" "I'd like to test that" (to which I consented.....who I am to question a doctor I've never met before?) I left with the advice of "See me in 2 weeks if you don't feel better. And I'd like for you to see an allergist". Allergist? I never complained about allergies in my visit. A few weeks later I received a bill for $500. I immediately called the billing department to negotiate a settlement to which they replied "We do not negotiate". Long story short, after a couple of phone calls, a partial payment, and two exchanged letters, I'm still on the hook for the full bill. I even had my PCP and another doctor look at the bill and they confirmed my initial suspicion: Dr Aronzon completed two tests that were necessary to diagnose my condition and one that was unnecessary for an initial diagnosis. My main gripe is that the doctor would perform unnecessary procedures just to make money. In all of my conversations with the ENT office they put the blame on the insurance company making statements like "all the insurance companies are different; we don't know what the insurance company will cover. The insurance company did not deny the claim so you have to pay. We are just following policy" which actually is missing the whole point of my argument! I even called the insurance company to see if they would retroactively deny the claim, but they said that since the doctor performed the procedure they could not deny it. Talk about a catch-22. Its actually de-humanizing trying to deal with the ENT office. I admit to raising my voice once when on the phone because they are so frustrating to deal with. They stick to the script, sound like robots, and didn't one acknowledge my viewpoint. We all know that medical insurance in the USA needs reformed; my experience with ENT is proof of that. I felt extremely misled and I chalk this up as a $500 mistake. I cannot in good conscience recommend anybody visit this doctor's office; I know I certainly will not be a repeat customer. read more

Haha. DO NOT delete my review!!!!!!!! There is definitely a relationship between yelp--Dr. Aronzon and they filter reviews they don't like. I think it's unfair because ppl need to know what medical specialist they are dealing with. So I'm posting again:) This doctor had an attitude when she saw me. I would be ok with it If she helped me. Honestly, I don't know who wrote all these great reviews on zocdoc. Maybe she writes them herself? But that's how I found her. And regretted that decision because it was a waste of time and money. I was diagnosed by her with something totally irrelevant to my condition. She prescribed me stomach meds for acid reflux that made me sick after taking them and didn't even try listening to me that I have an ongoing sore throat. Hope this review helps somebody to find an honest and knowledgable ENT. read more

Johns Hopkins educated, a solid surgeon, works well with Dr. Yarmohamadi to solve simultaneous issues of allergy. I had complex turbinate surgery done with her -- which I resisted for a long time to be conservative, but she was right in the end. Pre-op, op, post-op and clinic all excellent. She was able to answer my detail questions on CT examination and procedure well, and my girlfriend who is herself a surgeon said Aronzon is very, very good. (She also seems to have a great demeanor, though I don't mind doctors with gruff demeanors.) I have looked at the crank Yelp reviewers who posted one star or something like that; these seem to be either pretty unscientific folks prone to those kinds of posts, or they're complaining about billing. I'd suggest they not substitute their judgment for Aronzon's (I'm guessing they weren't science majors...) and not come in uninsured (or ignorant of medical billing practices, for which she is actually not responsible). Seems like anyone can write an opinion nowadays, but I'd think Yelp isn't a psychiatrist's couch where you can blame your inadequacies on other people. My one complaint -- please get wifi in the ENT office for patients. read more

I had the same experience as described by Lena V, having chronic tonsillitis since I remember myself I was diagnosed by Dr. Anna as having acid reflux of which I don't have a single symptom!!! I left the office deeply shocked by the doctor's professionalism and surely I didn't take the pills she had prescribed me. Looks like someone has some partnership. Dr. Aronzon has been treating me for years for routine ENT issues and I have always found her to be punctual, thorough and an overall great doctor. She always figured out what was and was not wrong with me (often it wasn't what I suspected) and her treatment was on point. But in September she demonstrated that she is a tremendous doctor and excellent diagnostician. I went in to see her thinking I may have a sinus infection. After concluding that I did not, Dr. Aronzon did a basic ENT checkup which included examining my neck glands and thyroid. She told me she suspected that she felt a nodule on my thyroid and told me I should have a sonogram. Well, 8 weeks later, it turns out that what she felt was a small cancerous tumor (1 centimeter) detected at the earliest possible stage. I have since had my thyroid removed and the cancer had not yet spread to the nodes which means that the surgery was my entire treatment. While the surgery was not a picnic, I feel so lucky that this was caught early and I do not need to undergo additional treatments. I should note that none of the other doctors or surgeons I have consulted throughout this process was able to feel the nodule on my thyroid. They were all incredibly impressed that she picked up on it as am I. A specific note to the reviewers who complain that she looks beyond the specific problem that brought you to the office. That's a GOOD thing and a sign of a thorough doctor, not a problem! Once you are in the office of a skilled diagnostician you should receive the benefit of all her expertise. read more

Dr. Aronzon is a consummate professional. I came in for her to check on a problem with my tongue. Of course, I envisioned every possible worst case scenario i.e: cancer. She patiently listened to my crazy questions and calmed me down. She diagnosed and resolved it quickly in the 1st visit and the condition never returned thankfully. I'm writing this a bit late but thought I would chime in. I went to Dr. Aronzon years ago when she had an office in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. I had an episode of vertigo which was quite scary and was getting nothing but fluff from the health care professionals I had visited. I just went to her because I wanted to consult an ENT and she was local, I had no reviews or recommendations to go by. That said, I thought she was one of the most thorough doctors I ever met. She was direct, honest and had me take a series of tests which would eventually lead to a diagnosis of sleep apnea and my using a CPAP machine. I can honestly say it changed my life and I will be forever grateful for what she did. I know it's almost impossible to please everyone and each patient's experience will be different but mine was very positive. read more

I lost 100% of my hearing in one of my ears (SSNHL) and it was an incredibly scary and discouraging experience. I went to a walkin the day after it occurred and I was referred to Dr. Aronzon for treatment. While waiting for insurance to approve an MRI to rule out the worst, Dr Aronzon immediately treated my condition with a prescription. Medication didn't help my condition initially so Dr. Aronzon utilized a more agressive treatment by injecting shots into my inner ear. This treatment helped me to get back a substantial amount of my hearing in my ear. I am very grateful to her for the care and treatment that she provided and for her determination and compassion she demonstrated throughout my treatment. read more

I have visited Dr. Aronzon on three separate occasions. Each of those times I have found her to be both a caring and insightful professional. Contrary to another reviewer she was quite conservative in her recommendation and even went out of her way to avoid unneeded procedures. IF there was something below one star i would pick that! Dr Anna Aronzon, i shouldnt even say doctor, is the worst. She preformed a surgery on my nose, in which it made no difference but make everything more worse for me, she was rude and laughed at me when i told her how i would clean my nose. she never explained what to do and was always rude. After my surgery she told me to come in for a follow up,and that is when she told me i had a hole in my nose but she assured me it was normal and that it happens sometimes she never mentioned getting it repaired . I went in many times after my follow up complaining about more issues but she kept blaming me saying i was picking my nose or she just kept giving me sprays. NOW months later, i still have a breathing problems and other issues in which i had told anna aronzon about , i went to another ENT doctor and he told me that having a hole after the surgery is not good and it needed to be repaired asap and whtever the reason was for the surgery wasnt even solved the problem just got worse!!! I feel worse than before and regret having her as a doctor to preform the surgery or even check me regarding my situation!! read more
