I realize that it is only an estimate, but I would think that anyone that has been in business that long could give a better estmate than that. the work was good, but it was supposed to be good. the plumber, dave, was on time, but he was supposed to be on time. when I told dave that the estimate that they gave me was $450.00 he said I didn't tell you that. it was rob that told you that. is that the way they operate? I guess so. they did it to me. rob is what they did to me. BAIT and SWITCH. this work was done 2/9/23

Plumber did not inspect the pipes, use a snake camera, or take anything apart on either visit. Visit #1: Showed the plumber the source of the dripping by turning the shower water on. Plumber was convinced it was a loose faucet, so he put caulk around the seal and told me not to use the tub/shower for a day. This obviously didn't work. Visit #2: Leaking persisted the next day when testing the water. Plumber came out, but I was unable to make the drips occur (although there was water on the floor of the basement and in a bucket). Plumber said there is nothing he could do - Did not inspect or diagnose anything. Called another plumber and it was a misaligned rubber O ring on the tub drain (new construction home). Five Star Plumbing left me with no real work done and black fingerprints all along my hallway and bathroom walls.

First visit: FABULOUS!…read more We purchased our home about 7-8mos back. In that time, we had a spigot pipe "pimple" but not burst, thankfully. And I discovered a bathroom sink without shut off valves. So, I needed those two items rectified. Further, I'm pretty well versed in plumbing as I would have/should have been 4th generation plumber... but I digress. This plumbing, effing weird. Shut off valves like everywhere. I mean, TWO main lines. Who does that?! And the water softener only goes to the hot water, again... who does that?! I suppose previous owners didn't want soft water to utility supplies, such as spigots and the basement cement sink. Which I get, as that is expensive and a waste. Okay, I'm off topic. I needed someone to walk me through the guts of my house to ensure I wasn't going mad. Nope, it's the house. But, Joe took the time to walk all the plumbing with me and much like GI JOE always said... KNOWING IS HALF THE BATTLE. At least I know where to crank things should shhhh hit the fan. Ya just never know out here; I've learned--tornado anyone? All in all for 2hrs of work and parts, about $330. ($165/hr plus cost of parts for anyone wondering.) They take card, but you'll be hit with that 4% charge. They also take cash and check, like it's 1980. Who didn't like the 80s?! FABULOUS JOB OUT THE GATE AND TO THE FINISH LINE. "Our trained local cleaning professionals will leave no corner of your home or apartment untouched." But the floors were not swept or mopped, the countertops were not wiped down, some of the blinds missed, there was an air vent in plain site that was missed, the closets were not touched, the pantry missed, outlet covers not wiped down, the blades on the fans were poorly done. So obviously some corners are left untouched. My fiancé was told the blades "looked a lot better and they were there scrubbing them the best they could". It took me 15 minutes, some Lysol spray and paper towels to get them done and all the dirt and grime off. So I'm not sure why their description sounds like they deep clean and will make it "look like you never lived there". When that's clearly not the case. Yes they offered to have someone else come by and "fix" the issue but here's my problem, why would I trust they would do the job correctly the second time around and that we wouldn't have to still come back and redo it when they couldn't do it right the first time and to be kind of brushed off as they did what they could for the amount we had to pay for is kind of a downer. We used them in hopes of taking the stress off of us having to do it as we have a 2 month old and my fiancé works 3rd shift. All this did was put even more stress on us having to re-clean what should have been cleaned to begin with. Oh but we got a very small discount because apparently the poor job they did was worth the amount we still paid. This place is a joke. So if you're looking for someone to come into your home and do a very half assed job for an absurd price then Merry Maids is the place for you.

While everyone is entitled to their opinion, I see another review in which an individual believes some details were missed, then I suggest practice the simple act of communication, politely ask them to remember to do something if it's that important to you. If you rely on them regularly like I do, you would find they always do the most important basics and then vary some other tasks with every other visit. Steve N.
