Wonder local gem…read more Books for both book lovers and the curious. There is an over abundance of old romance novels. Don't let that fool you. This store has insightful employees that can find something for everyone in the family. The young adult section is at the front of the store. Small gifts at the register. I'll never tire of 2nd hand book stores. New titles here too. Picked out 5 books for under $20 for my nephew. Support local.

This store is packed to the brim with all genres and authors. Prices range from 15$ to 3$ from what I saw when looking around. While it is 80% a secondhand book store, there was a wall of all new books and they had new releases as well including a Freida McFadden book that came out the exact day we visited the store. The newer books were the ones priced higher at 15-10$. My favorite thing about this book store was that they had printed lists next to the more popular authors that included the order of the books in their well known series. For example, next to Nelson DeMille's section of books, they had a printed list containing the order of books in the John Corey series which was so considerate and helpful - I didn't have to try to google it on my own, I could just refer to their lists! The front of the store contained some book marks and other knickknacks for sale which I enjoyed browsing. Overall, I'd highly encourage any book lover to visit the Book Rack. I can't wait to visit again!

My wife and I joined friends for a day of visiting the shops, good food, the beach, and the…read moreambiance of 30A while we passed through Seaside, Florida. We even stopped by The Truman House nearby. As a huge fan of bookstores, when we passed by Sundog Books in the evening as our last stop before heading back to our hotel, I was impressed by a well organized and large (and fun) bookstore with so much to see. We didn't roam the second floor as we arrived shortly before closing but there is a record store on the upper floor. We did see apparel and gear for sell including sweatshirts, t-shirts, hoodies, tank tops, hats, mugs, bandanas, and tote bags. In scanning the various sections of the store, I quickly found some of my favorite fiction, historical fiction, and young adult fiction sections along with non-fiction favorites. I also found some new ideas of what I could read next, which I promptly added to my Goodreads account. I also enjoyed roaming the fun gift items, which were very creative but perfect for book loving visitors like me. Established more than 40 years ago by Bob and Linda White, the logo features their former dog Patty. The store was founded on individuality and a respect for independence though nowadays continues to focus on community. Check out their website at https://sundogbooks.com for online shopping, upcoming events, the Bookstore Buzz, and to learn about them. They give out their own Seaside Prize each year to a worthy author or authors. They also have multiple book signings in a typical week (listed on their event calendar). They are open from 9 AM to 8 PM year-round. While I love music and regret not seeing the second floor of records, I was very happy I made it to the store while it was still open. Now, if only I had enough room in my luggage for a number of books to buy while I passed through. Rather, I'll have to settle for online ordering from Sundog Books, which has some rather reasonable prices for a bookstore. I certainly recommend that visitors visit the bookstore and record shop!

The store is packed from floor to ceiling and wall to wall with books and gift items. I will stop in whenever I'm in the area for a vacation read. Be sure to check out the record store upstairs as well.

This location had a clear layout that was easy to navigate, and at least the back 1/4 of the store was dedicated to bargain books. I walked out of here with 5 hardcovers for less than $32 & was ecstatic! I wish there was a location closer to me in the Tampa Bay Area as I'm obsessed now

They don't have discounts. The price you see on the barcode on the back is the price you pay. Other than college textbooks I never pay full price for books. That's just not smart. The staff aren't friendly. No greeting or help when one walked right passed our family. For the part of my life that I did go to bookstores, everyone at bookstores were EXTREMELY NICE. Not this place though. If you need a book quick this is the place as it's well organized (but very small and dingy). However, if you can wait a few days save your money and order on Amazon. Or drive to Barnes and Noble in Destin. Barnes and Noble always has deals going and the prices are much more fair.
