Sharing my experience with LaserAway tattoo removal in the Woodlands TX, as a warning to anyone…read moreconsidering purchasing a prepaid package. I paid $3,180 on September 9 for a tattoo-removal package after a remote consultation where I showed pictures of, and discussed my tattoos, including their colors. I was very clear that my goal was complete removal, with an important family wedding in July 2027. What I was told during the sales process and what I was told when I actually arrived for treatment were very different. At the treatment location, staff raised concerns about some of the colored pigments specifically one on my chest with pink ink, and whether they could be removed with their equipment. This was the first time these limitations were explained to me. Staff also appeared confused about the package and treatment plan I had been sold. Staff also were concerned that the sales person told me a year was plenty long for full removal, I was told I was buying 5 sets of 5 sessions to total 30 sessions to be finished by June 2027 Instead I had 48 sessions, and was told the notes stated 2-3 yrs for removal!!!! I asked to cancel and receive a refund before any laser treatment was performed. I was told the location could not process the refund and that it had to go through the person who sold me the package. After further discussion with the manager and staff, and reassurance that the black portions could be treated and the already-faint pink could simply remain and be covered with makeup, I allowed one limited treatment session and declined treatment of another tattoo that contained purple and turquoise, even though I was sold sessions for that particular tattoo. Afterward, I learned about another important issue that had never been explained to me: white and certain pink/light tattoo pigments can paradoxically darken when treated with laser. My wrist tattoos contain known old white ink, yet nobody asked me whether white ink had been used before treating them. You could clearly see where the white was used in the shading. The faded pink pigment in my chest tattoo was specifically discussed that day, but I was not warned that laser exposure could potentially make pink(because its typically mixed with white) pigment darker and more noticeable rather than simply leaving faint residual color. After learning of all of these limitations as well as the white ink issue, I now have three tattoos that cannot be treated as sold to me without risk of permanent paradoxical darkening, this is a risk with all tattoo removal, not just their machine, as well as one tattoo they can't treat because their lasers don't target purple/turquoise. They can only remove black and red. I requested a refund of $2,928, allowing $252 for the treatment I received based on the package pricing I purchased. I stated up front I would not pay à la carte pricing for my treatment because I never would have agreed to those prices. I agreed to a specific package for specific tattoos. Instead, I was offered either $1,360 back to my credit card or store credit. The explanation I received said $820 was being deducted for treatment, on out of package a la carte pricing, but even that math did not explain a $1,360 refund from a $3,180 purchase. I do not need or wish to have any other treatments laser away offers. So there is no need for their "store credit" I bought a package for complete tattoo removal, that they literally can't perform for my specific case. My tattoos, inquiries and concerns should have been re-examined and a refund issued. I declined the options given to me and repeatedly requested that the matter be reviewed. I received no response, no response to my concerns about the white and pink ink. Crickets I escalated it to corporate, provided the relevant correspondence, requested copies of my signed consent forms and treatment records, and gave the company until September 25 at 4:00 PM Central to respond, giving them over a week to resolve this. That deadline passed with no substantive response, no requested refund, and no copies of the records I requested. I have now initiated a credit-card dispute for $2,928. Back to my original payment method. I did not do any financing. I'm sharing this because I want people to know that the sales people can tell you anything to get you to buy the packages, and they send you the consent forms AFTER you pay, that outlines many contradictions. This is my personal experience and the chronology of what occurred. As also witnessed on all accounts by my husband Jason. I will update this review if LaserAway resolves the matter with my refund as requested.

Where do I even begin? I bought the Groupon special for 3 IPL photofacials for $199 and I thought…read moreis that too good to be true? Well I guess it was. I went in on a Thursday for my first procedure (first at this facility - second in my life). The place is very nice and clean and the staff was so sweet. Laurie was very nice and seemed to know what she was doing. I had one done before (mind you at a different business) and wasn't scared or nervous. I left that day went home to notice minor swelling. I woke up in the middle of the night with a very scary person in the mirror. I didn't get too concerned YET, and continued to ice my face. Then I woke up Friday morning early to discover I was completely disfigured with a very swollen face. I was in complete shock and crying wondering what was I going to do? I had to wait until the office opened and called them immediately. I told them I was worried on what happened and they asked I send pictures to them. I did that right away and was called back by the nurse, Melanie, who said I needed to come in and get a steroid shot. I was also asked about the numbing cream and cooling gel that was put on my face. I NEVER got the numbing cream! But they said well that doesn't have to be done?!! I should have realized then something was up. Due to my first one being done so long ago I didn't remember numbing cream until they slipped and said that. I live in the south side of town, so it was hard trying to get there when my face was so swollen that my left eye was covered from the swelling it made it hard to see out of that eye. Not to mention my tears running down my face. I got my boyfriend to drive me that morning. Dr. Broussard and Melanie came in to see and assess my face. They said the steroid shot would help with the swelling in a quicker manner. So I received the shot and was told I would be checked on throughout the weekend. I was pleased with their compassion and concern. I went home and waited about 6 hours after the shot and called them back to tell them nothing was happening. And Dr. Broussard proceeded to tell me that it would take 6-12 hours to notice a change. A few more hours pass and no improvement at all. I called my GP, Dermatologist and the Athena staff back to see what I needed to do. I was encouraged by both my GP and dermatologist to see the ER. So off to the ER I went. I was told it was not an allergic reaction and the steroid wouldn't help at all. It was major Edema which is fluid buildup. The only thing I could do is rest and ice my face. So I was doing that for 3 days stuck at home with a disfigured face. Monday rolls around and still no call from the staff. I am able to go to work with little embarrassment on my face. I write them an email and send photos of my face and request a refund as I would not like to take a chance at this ever happening again. I tell them my biggest disappointment is no one reaching out to me like they said. Dr. Broussard then calls me and tells me Melanie called me Sunday and had a conversation with me. Uh no ma'am I never got a call and didn't talk to Melanie. She then proceeded to act as if the steroid could have altered my remembering the call?!!! I was in shock that she was accusing me of forgetting about a conversation I supposedly had with Melanie. I was on Motrin not a pain killer! That was almost a slap in the face. She was more concerned that I wrote that email saying how disappointed I was with the staff. She tried to clear up their mistake by making me the "crazy patient." This whole experience has been so negative that I cannot even think of myself ever doing business with them again. They thrive on the we care about the patient, but apparently that is not the case. They care about themselves and if a bad word gets out about them. Well here is the bad word! Now the swelling can happen, but hasn't happened to anyone I know or anyone else at their facility or the one facility I went to for my first. Was it the fact I didn't receive numbing cream, my skin is sensitive? I have no idea, but I am just warning others of my experience.
