There are so many different birds that come by to get fed.

I enjoyed coming out to this beach lots of different sea life to look at. Calm waves not too intense. I would come back.

This beach is so beautiful! We went a sunset one evening and there was no one in site! We couldn't believe it! It's definitely a type of hidden gem!

This beach is one of the calmer beaches we have seen thus far on the north shore. It is very close to Princeville where we are staying. It offered great snorkeling with a massive reef running along the shoreline. You have to be pretty careful because the reef is shallow and even when you go far out from shore, you are close to the reef. I saw lots of fish when I was snorkeling. The water wasn't extremely clear probably due to the recent rains. The beach itself has lots of shade, ample parking (which is not always the case at beaches here), and neat looking trees that provide a nice shade. I don't think it is necessarily the best beach for swimming just because there is the reef to consider. It is definitely worth a visit, and we will probably go back before this trip is over.

Quiet. Calm clear waters. Nice spot for snorkeling since it's protected by a reef. There are shady spots and nice breeze on a hot day. A good spot for windsurfing as well. Ample parking.

We stayed at the Westin and they have a public path down to the Anini beach right next to the hotel. The dirt path is very treacherous, especially after a rain shower. I went down without my wife to see how it was. There was a couple in front of me that the wife was yelling at her husband for taking her down it! Lol Anyway, as I was going down I hit a wet spot and ended up falling into a mud hole!! I made it down to the beach only to find a big sign that says NO Swimming! In talking to some people you can walk up the beach by the St Regis and swim there. Information I wish I had before heading down the dirt path. Anyway, the beach is very beautiful and calming. There is creek that runs from the mountains down to the beach so there is a sand bar that you can walk out on. I did just to clean all the mud off of me! FYI, the Kauai red mud does not come out of your clothes very easily. It stained my $40 Tommy Bahama T shirt , that my wife was not happy with me about. She Forgot about me falling down the path!,, lol Maybe next time we are here we will make it over to the St Regis. I found out that the Westin has a shuttle you can take over there. Also info I could have used before going down the path.

Anini beach is such a beautiful and tranquil beach with hardly anyone there. Lots of parking and restroom available. Also they have picnic tables good for picnics and the beautiful sandy beaches are so serene. They also have lifeguards on duty there. A big difference from the crowds at Ala Moana beach park, where you have to drive around and hope you can find parking. What a beautiful and relaxing way to enjoy your time on Kauai.

SO AMAZING! We heard this beach was good for snorkeling and it was the BEST beach for snorkeling. There isn't as much sand as Hanalei Bay Beach but there is still enough for walking on and laying out. There were hardly any people, the water was about 3-5 feet deep for about 50 meters, and there are actually coral reefs so the water is teeming with so much life! The section of beach we were at you could even see the Kilauea Lighthouse. We saw probably 20 different species of fish, so so many Urchins, and I even ventured out far enough I saw a sea turtle!! If you need a place to snorkel, this is it. Not the best beach for sun bathing, surfing, or boogie boarding, but it is really pretty and super relaxing!

Beautiful l, clear, calm water. Shady area to relax.

Anini Beach offers calm, turquoise waters and is filled with the sounds of roosters crowing throughout the day.

Love this beach! Parking gets very packed but we found a spot along the road where there are big gorgeous beach homes. Different beach entrances too in between homes but the main one is by all the parking and bathrooms. I personally liked being away from the crowds so we picked a spot further from the main spot. Be respectful of these beach homes and their front views. Don't leave any trash behind! Keep Kauai beautiful. This was a beautiful spot to snorkel, swim and tan. I also saw some people paddle boarding and sea fishing. It's a great spot for a beach day.

After my first visit, I understand why. It is an awesome beach. The entire bay is about 2 miles long, and consists of many smaller named parks, each with its own parking, green space, and facilities. To the far east is Black Pot Beach Park where the pier is located. Going west, there is Hanalei Pavilion Beach Park, centrally located with a large grassy area with a pavilion. Next is Wai'oli Beach Park, the largest of the parks with a big parking lot, sand volleyball courts, and ironwood trees. This beach will take you to the mouth of the Waioli Stream. There are more sandy areas beyond (Ines's secret beach and Waikoko) which are still on the bay, but would require walking on roads to get to. There is so much space that finding a spot to yourself is extremely easy, even on a busier day. The bay itself is protected and shallow, and has a very gently sloping ocean bottom. Depending on the tide, one can see people just hanging out far into the ocean, but still being able to stand up. And the frequent sand bars allow one to stand up as well. When we visited on a Saturday morning, the local surfing school was having a competition, using the large parking lot at Wai'oli Beach Park for gathering, and the nearby surf for the competition. One thing to note is that the main road to get to this area from the east is the Kuhio Hwy. On it, the Hanalei bridge crosses the Hanalei river and is only one lane with no traffic light. It wasn't so bad when when we came earlier in the morning, but it was pretty backed up trying to get to Hanalei Beach when we crossed back later that morning. I read later that the proper etiquette is to cross in a convoy of 5 - 7 cars at a time, giving a friendly wave to acknowledge that the other side is patiently waiting their turn.

Parking in front of the entrance is extremely limited, and the surrounding residential area doesn't allow non-permitted parking. I ended up dropping off my wife and her friend so they could start the trek while I parked at the nearby golf course, which added about a half-mile walk to the entrance. From the entrance, the hike down to Queen's Bath is about half a mile. It's not too long, but there are a few tricky spots that require some careful footing. It's definitely manageable for most people, including kids, as long as you take your time. Once you arrive, you're rewarded with a beautiful natural tide pool filled with seawater and fish. Some people were even jumping from the surrounding rocks into the water below. The spot was lively, with plenty of tourists and families making the hike down to enjoy the view and the experience. A little extra work to get there, but the payoff is huge. Queen's Bath is a must-see if you're in Princeville.

There's a few sections where there's tied up rope to help you hold on and keep your balance while climbing- make sure you use it! I wouldn't bring anyone not able-bodied on this trip. As intimidating as the hike sounds, the final points were absolutely breathtaking, the most spectacular beach I've ever seen. The snorkel water was calm, and you can see through it crystal clear without even needing snorkel goggles (although I would still bring some!). Take your time, be careful, go slow, and this trail will reward you. Right before the beach, it does turn into a bit of rock climbing, but nothing too challenging if take your time. You'll definitely feel the Hawaiian jungle vibes. The path can be tight, and you'll be touched with lots of leaves and vines; I would never do this hike somewhere snakes exist.
