I visited for the first time today and was automatically targeted as a suspicious shopper. It was…read morevery apparent and I have never felt like such "trash" before, bc that is what a thief is, trashy. I walked in, verbally and physically acknowledged the 2 shopkeepers, one who had the most cold look on her face, very unfriendly and looked at me in a suspicious manner. No smile. Never stopped looking at me until I walked away to the left of the store. She wasn't doing any task. She just stood, looking at me. The other lady, the same, but at least said hello. The one lady followed me through the entire perimeter of the store. Not once did she ask me, "Can I help you?" Not once did she say, "Are you looking for anything in particular?" If she had, I would have told her exactly what I was looking for. This, by the way, is the PROPER way to surveil your store to keep an eye on your customers. Not follow them around very apparently; that makes a very rude statement (non-verbal, of course) that says: I'm watching you. I've singled out you. It's inappropriate, it's not the correct and mannerly form to prevent shoplifting. I will never be back and I won't ever forget how u made me feel. Whether you purposefully wanted to make someone feel bad today, I will never know. But u did. Put up cameras visibly. Put up the large round mirrors. And yes, keep walking around your store. But talk to your customer. Ask them while they are in the store shopping if you can help them. Ask what they are looking for. Treat everyone the SAME or treat them like you care. Or pretend to.

I only have one left. It isn't a question of if it will break, it's when, so I like to have spares. I bought a 2x 8 runner for the kitchen rug and a small cutting board. The prices are fair, some are a great bargain! If you have ever worked retail, this week is exhausting and employees are exhausted! The crew here are friendly, cheerful and good to be around. The store is organized and has friendly staff and great management. You know a store is doing its job when the kids section is fairly neat. Often, I don't even have to ask what I'm looking for because a staff member has already asked if I found what I was looking for. When they don't have something I am looking for, they always ask if I would like to have it ordered. Sure I could go to Amazon- but I would miss the instant gratification of finding what I want. Keep the local bookstores alive and shop here! Bring back the Joe Mugs dough. I want the coffee and books experience again.

A few items looked like they were suffering from a lack of product rotation and attention. i.e. wilted and soupy looking green onions with dates past expiration on them. According to the sales person I talked to, they stock 6 days a week here. That included the Saturday I went in.
