Kylee was PERFECTION. My family decided to get a family tattoo and while my brother, sister and I have done this before, my parents had not. She put us all at ease and obliged last minute size changes. I would HIGHLY recommend Kylee as well as Animated Canvas. The deposit process for an appointment is a bit of a hassle - but being in an appointment based business myself, I totally understand. Deal with it - they are well worth it!! read more

My husband of 30 yrs passed away a few years ago. I have been struggling with what I wanted to do as a memorial tattoo. I walked in on a Saturday afternoon. Chris took his time talking to me about what I wanted and where to put it. He took the actual picture of us holding hands and did a couple of stencils. I deferred to him for the actual size. We talked about growing up in Cola, his kids and our pets. Made me comfortable and relaxed. Very happy with the results. I would recommend him. read more

I decided to get my first tattoo with Andy S. At the Columbia location and couldn't be happier. Andy was very patient and helped with the anticipation anxiety and talked me thru all the steps and what to expect. I would highly recommend anybody get their tattoo with Andy, whether it's their first one or they're a seasoned tattoo veteran. read more

I would not go there, they act like it's a chore to fit you in. They pick and choose who they take by saying Covid. This shop acts like there shit don't stank. It feels like a race thing cause who the heck waits almost a week to email you back and has an automatic reply. This one artist Cameron do not see him and the apprentice is odd he made me and my friend feel like we had to wait for them and they didn't want to do it from the beginning. This is not a way to represent your state South Carolina. They do have another location in Lexington I would not go there either, because if I had this experience then it's the same there. Hey the artist had a short T-shirt I did not enjoy so o said nice gut and he got mad. I didn't want a tattoo but, I did go else where it felt nice and they took me in. This is the honest to god truth, blacks not welcome. read more

Toto was my artist and he made the experience fantastic! Definitely will book him again in the future.

I would 100% recommend this tattoo shop. I got my first tattoo here in April from bearded Matt, (apparently there are 2 Matts). He sat down with me for a consultation to discuss exactly what I wanted and drew up an amazing design based on the inspiration pictures I showed him. I was extremely pleased with the outcome and I love my tattoo. The price was great and he was very easy to talk to. If I ever decide to get another one I will definitely return here. read more

I got my first tattoo here in 2019. I am only now leaving this review because I have gotten tattoos at other places and know they fucked up. I don't remember the name of the tattoo artist but he was white and had a beard. He sketched my tattoo in 5 seconds and very grumpily redid it once. Since it was my first time, I trusted his judgement. My small easy turtle tattoo came out lopsided and blowout occurred (the lines are now very thick). Research before you get your tattoos please! I wish I did. read more

My girlfriend just had her 1st tattoo done here, second overall. She took a design that she liked and sat down with Matt and added a creative unique element to it. I appreciated that he wanted to make a unique piece of art and create something nobody else had, even though she drew inspiration from another design. Great tattoo artist, super knowledgeable and easy to talk to. Stayed late just to get it done right and he flat out refused to accept a huge tip before we even paid. Tat was $85 or $100 I think, but it was worth every penny. She was literally jumping with joy by the time we left. Super painful rib tat but only took 30 min after design was done to get it made. read more

I was really nervous about getting my first tattoos. I did a lot of research and talked to a friend who had nothing but great things to say about this place. Wow! I am so impressed! Bearded Matt was just awesome. He talked me through the entire process as it was happening and even kept up an engaging conversation to help distract me (I don't like needles! Lol). He even went the extra mile to buy me a coke to help get my sugar levels up. All around just a great day. And I am VERY pleased with how my yin yang koi fish turned out! read more

Being the first time I've gotten a tattoo, I don't have the best frame of reference, but I couldn't have imagined the experience to have been better. Spyder did a great job interpreting the tattoo I had in mind and a great job overall with the whole experience. Definitely will be coming back should I get more tattoos read more

I was looking for a talented tattoo artist in the area, I did some research, looked around, and chose Shane Anderson at Animated Canvas. I liked his style, and I knew he could pull off something amazing. I was right! Shane is the definition of Tattoo Artist. He does AMAZING work. He is extremely talented, his skills are top notch and very professional. His attitude is professional, his work area is clean, he knows what he's doing, it's obvious he's been at this for a very long time, he knows his stuff, he's a genuine nice guy, he's serious about what he does, he won't do you wrong. I have been to Shane many times working on my sleeve (still not done, I know I must get back in that chair!) and I will be back in May for a new memorial tattoo and I can't wait! I fully trust it will be amazing. I cannot tell you how many times I have been stopped in malls, at the store, pretty much anywhere I go, many many times people will want to look up and down my arm and ALWAYS ask me who did my work and I always point them to Shane. You just can't go wrong! Even if you don't live in the area - he is worth a drive, make sure you call ahead and make an appt and even send him some samples! You won't be disappointed! read more

I was blessed with Bearded Matt as a walk in. They took me in immediately and I showed them what I wanted and they got me started. I did not feel rushed at all and Matt made me feel like he cared about how I was doing and everything. I went in here wanting one thing and they gave me what I wanted and more. They had great suggestions on how to make the tattoo better than I had imagined, and did not put pressure on anything I said no to. The aftercare instructions were very clear and I could not be happier with the end result! read more

My daughter had an appointment with a specific artist who had already tattooed her 3 times before. My daughter had paid her an $80 deposit for her tattoo appointment that she scheduled. Unfortunately my daughter had gotten sick and WANTED to reschedule her appointment. Needless to say she was told since it was less than 24 hours she needed to pay another deposit OF $80 and would get $20 off when tattoo was complete. This was done through email since the artist dies not like texting or any phone calls. Here's where I am pissed. My daughter has been a customer of yours as well as my son, husband and myself have been tattooed by her as well. Second the artist never said what her policy of cancellation is not one time in all the appointments that my family has had with her. Third is that since she only wants emails from her customers but when my daughter reached out to her prior to change her tattoo the artist never ever got back to her. She is unprofessional and did not offer to reschedule unless she paid another deposit of $80. So now you want $160 for a $80 tattoo. SCAMMER!!!!We now unfortunately live in a Covid world and she has made it known to all of my family her feelings of if someone is sick DO NOT COME and that wearing mask for the rest of eternity she would be completely fine!! Sorry to say but one person spoils the establishment as a whole, so God only knows how the rest of the artists will treat you. read more

I have absolutely no complaints about this tattoo studio. All of the artist are knowledgeable, professional, and fair with quotes on length and price. I am no stranger to tattoos, and while in the area I was compelled to visit Animated Canvas to discuss a good sized piece to get done on my back. I ended up booking an appointment, getting it done fairly quickly, and I have no regrets at all. I will recommend them to anyone I know in the area. read more

i he kodi and when i first got there he had a nice conversation with the person i had arrived with and then we got started and when i tell you i love my tattoo, the healing process was a lot more smooth and not as nerve wracking as my first tattoo (done at a acquaintance's home), but nonetheless he was a cool dude...him and another tattoo artist were keeping the mood light by making jokes with each other. :) 11/10 would recommend read more
