And it has been wonderful seeing the school really grow up since then, as I have seen younger cousins and friends of the family in and out of this school. It has been a relief to know that some things about it haven't changed. Many of the faculty and staff members have been there several decades, because they love what they do, and they love the people working with them. With the growth of the school, extra room has grown in the hearts of the faculty and staff as they have met and taught more students. If I had school-age kids and still lived in Midland, I would hope to send them there.

They have lots of care options from a Mother's Day out program to a 5 days a week program. New this year is an inclusion program for special needs children which is such a blessing to this community and a wonderful gift for parents of preschool aged children with special needs. My child learns core skills along with extras like Spanish, technology and food projects. The teachers are kind and friendly and the director is easy to approach and professional. CLC also offers a summer program 3 days a week which keeps little ones involved with friends and active learning. Best decision we could have made for our family!

College Lane Elementary School holds lots of memories for me personally…read more My dad picked me up in a two-door Ford in snow when I was in kindergarten. This was when I was in Miss Roberts' afternoon session. My mom brought my twin brothers in a stroller to my field day when I was older - can't remember which grade - but all my friends absolutely adored them. My favorite teacher, Mrs. Gage, was super hard, but I appreciate and miss that. She was my sixth grade teacher. So many things from my past no longer applied to my own children who I brought from California to Hobbs in 2022. No more morning and afternoon sessions for kinder. It's all day now. No more siblings are allowed at events. They no longer call it field day. Teachers no longer require memorization of songs like The Star Spangled Banner or readings or dead famous poets. Sixth grade is also no longer the highest grade level at Hobbs Municipal Schools. Fifth is. Overall, I cannot complain too much about College Lane. Both of my daughters were on the bus when an accident occurred. I was contacted right away and encouraged to go to the school to check on them. They weren't hurt. Just shaken up. The motorcyclist that ran into the back of them died. I drove by today and noticed how they re-paved the parking lots and made a much easier pick-up and drop-off area. AFTER my kids moved on! Ugh. Lol. There are still some wonderful teachers here. I'm still miffed that when I was in 5th grade, there was a mascot change. I voted to keep the "Cobras." The rest of the school apparently wanted to change to the "Cowboys."

My son is 3 y.o. who was originally having trouble speaking which then in turn caused him to throw massive fits... Since starting Kiddie Kollege this year he has began to talk (clear enough that most can understand) he has become more interested in learning & then coming to tell me all about it...
