The menu states it's 'probably' the best hot chocolate - there's no probably about it, it's absolutely divine! Chocolatey, the perfect level of sweetness, not cloying at all, and with a large dollop of cream to top it off - amazing! We stumbled across this tea shop after attempting to climb Snowdon via the Llanberis route. We only managed to get about half way up due to snow, ice and an astonishingly cold wind. It was a beautiful climb but we needed a little respite from the cold after our descent. We wondered in to the tea room and it felt like stumbling in to somebody's living room! There was a roaring fire with a old black labrador curled up in front of it, a scattering of fellow walkers, and one very crazy cafe owner!! Stefan, the crazy cafe owner of which I speak, made us instantly welcome with his friendliness and Welsh humour. He was a little taken aback by my boyfriend requesting an Americano - he could have coffee and that's it! He chatted to us while we supped our drinks and warmed up, and there was plenty of banter regarding my boyf's home country of Brazil and our home town of Brighton. Stefan did also give us a few tips of things to do in Llanberis for the rest of our day. This place offers accommodation as well and would be a lovely place to stay if you want to be as close to the mountain as possible. Stefan will offer you a warm welcome, an amazing hot chocolate and a few words to brighten your day. I have a feeling that he may have been here nearly as long as the mountain, and I can't seem him going anywhere soon!

To set the scene: We had just climbed one of the less easy routes up Mount Snowdon. I managed to…read moreget mild hypothermia as a result of torrential rain, and 60mph winds. However, the train down wasn't running due to bad weather and so after I recovered, we took the easy route down (and almost got blown away a few times). After rescuing a lone lady with chocolate, water, and paracetomol, who had all but given up hope, our group carried her to the safest shelter we could find. Which happened to be this tea room. Heaven. A small room with wood panelling and large roaring fire. Freezing, soaking, and shivering slowly subsided, and our group indulged in many whiskies and huge pots of tea. The lady we rescued was thoughtfully given a complementary cup of tea. The owner is quite a character. Friendly, but a little bit crazy... To give a word of warning though, he gives away free nights to those who write positive reviews in trip advisor. I wish he wouldn't have tried to bribe me, because I don't think he needed to in order for a good review!

Not far from the famous castle you can find this really small and cosy tea shop. There are only 6…read moretables and if all of them are taken, they close down the place with a sign at the door - so from time to time people have to queue to get inside - peculiar but effective. We came here for an early Afternoon Tea and were not disappointed. A big pot of tea, home made fruit scones and cake combined with cream and jam. All of them tasted fresh and delicious. For us it was a really a great place to warm up after visiting the castle in a light drizzle. Service was very friendly and helpful and you felt right at home from the very first minute. The whole decoration has Victorian charme with lots of lovely tea pots and whole tea sets on display. The tea shop is in a very old and small building and so the owners had to find a way to install some bathroom facilities for the guests - the solution is quite ingenious, but for some people a little bit discomforting as you have to cross the tiny open courtyard to reach the "outhouse". In the wind and the rain it is a little challenge but it should be managable - the bathroom itself is modern and very clean - so no complaints at all. We really liked the place and can highly recommend it for a lovely tea stop on Anglesey.

Looks quite posh from the outside, but it's quite ordinary and plain once you're inside. Only…read morearound 7 tables so space is limited. Staff were friendly and took our order at the table. Cooked meals took quite a while to arrive, which was suprising considering the amount of tables they had to look after. Food was inbetween 'greasy spoon' and 'pub grub' quality. Hot drinks were nice but cold drinks tasted cheap. Only worth visiting if you're after a drink and a small bite to eat, such as one of their home made cakes.

What a good find this Tea shoppe is!…read more My partner and I have been camping at nearby Shell Island, and wanted some respite from the bad weather, so visited Harlech to have a look round. Stopped into Cemlyn which is situated on the High St, around the corner from the castle. We were seated as soon as we arrived on the terrace by the friendly staff - who also told us that a carrot cake had just been prepared. The views of the castle are great. The menu was perfect for a morning coffee, with an endless list of teas (this being their thing). We had coffee however, and had a choice of rich roast or medium blend, and either hot or cold milk. Also ordered a toasted tea cake and a piece of the aforementioned carrot cake. All came out quickly to our wonky table on the terrace. The coffee was delicious, I had full roast and cold milk. My partner and I split the tea cake and the carrot cake. Both were amazing! The carrot cake moist and tasty, and the tea cake was one of the best I have had. Toasted to perfection and just the right amount of butter pre spread. The owner popped round the tables too to see if everything was ok...a nice gesture. We stayed a bit longer then we thought we would as it was so nice (we stayed way past our car parking ticket of 1hour!) Do visit this area...it great, and do visit this tea shop!
