We have stayed there at times when dock hands were sent out to assist us tie up upon our arrival and we have stayed there at times when they have not. Facilities our clean. They offer wash room facilities and laundry facilities (fees apply). Rates to stay are competitive with other marinas along the Canadian shoreline. Power and fresh water at the slips. Staff are friendly and helpful. Fuel / full service station on location. WiFi available at the slips. Shops, restaurants, and a large beach all within walking distance of the marina. Area also offers a farmer's market (check with chamber of commerce for schedule) and often times free festivals and outdoor - live entertainment. We would return to this marina again.

Very much a tripping hazard. We disconnected at night so that folks wouldn't trip in it in the dark. Outside of that issue, everything was fine and standard. Park staff are very friendly and welcoming. The one beach for guests was open and nice. The other beach for day use was closed due to bad water quality. Saw a Barred Owl close up, a little to close when walking over to the comfort station at night (scare the cr*p out of us), nice to see close up in wild doing owl things and no did not careless we were there it was to busy making its dinner

The staff a great at training and put in enough time to teach you how to handle the houseboat. They provide a service line if you need it and always have someone there to answer questions. I went in late May where the whether was ok but very quiet in the late spring so no issues with busy locks or too many boaters in the water. Got a chance to see their luxury boats and it's like a floating hotel. Can't wait to go back. Highlights of the trip were Boyd island, Bobcaygeon, Lower Buckhorn lake, Wolfe Island and Lovesick lock.

We were also able to roast marshmallows and potatoes in a foil, in the fire pit. Loved being able to swim in their pool (was cold though as it's not heated) and the lake, being able to kayak (single or double persons, and try stand up paddle boarding. They said they have eggs and butter but throughout our stay, they didn't have either. People also bring stuff to fish - we didn't try fishing Bring $200 for deposit in cash for easiest return. They have an arts/kids room with dollar tree items (like the standing unicorn), but it's nice to provide an indoor space for kids to play in. They say it's only available to play if you purchase crafts from them. You have to bring your own bedding and towels, or can rent - 4 sets cost $60. We have to throw our own trash and keep the place clean for next guests The cuttings of grass was quite annoying because after we walked to our cottage, all the grass stuck to our feet and legs and into the cottage. They cut grass every day we were there. The broom didn't have a dustpan to get rid of all the cuttings inside the cottage They also have a small discount for return visitors.

2024 review Today is a beautiful hot day for the beach and…read morewe arrived comfortably around 11am and parking was slowly filling up on the closer lots. $5/hour or $40 all day, there is parking police patrolling when we arrived. We chose to park on the west end by the boat marinas and it's a close walk to the white sand beach and lighthouse pier. Few more minutes to walk to the info hub, food truck and washrooms make it pretty easy anywhere on beach. The washrooms are also next to two simple playgrounds and splash pads. Nothing fancy but good place to rinse off the kids before getting back into the car. The sand is freshly groomed and very soft. Minor pebbles, debris that the kids could walk bare feet on. There was lots of space to play and set up camp, not as busy as expected especially arriving this late in the morning. In my honest opinion, while sitting on the towel ground, I could smell an odd aroma. It's probably an algae smell in the water and sands lingering around. I preferred sitting higher up from the wet sand and trenches the kids were digging up to get more airflow. No one else seemed to mind but when the gentle breeze wasn't blowing there was a weird smell. Feedback from my partner said the water is nice but as you go out further, there was some algae pockets in the lake sand making it kinda gross and slimy. Important to check by laws about what you can or cannot bring to the beach. There is frequent beach police patrolling the sands. Today's water quality levels online and on the beach showed it to be really low. Always check beach water quality before leaving as some have been in the red this summer. All in all, a decent place to go for a nice sandy beach. Kites, frisbee, water blow up toys, sand castles and kayaks in the water, this place is pretty chill to hang out at. The kids are having fun today and want to come back.

You can reserve your campsite through Ontario Parks website and each campsite offers 1 car and if you are bringing more cars, you need to pay extra. There's both sandy beaches (in day-use camp) and rocky beaches in the campground. There's both sandy park is well-maintained with washrooms and showers across the campground that are getting cleaned twice daily. The phone and internet connection is very poor in most of the areas, but it'll give you a perfect chance to disconnect from the day-to-day routine and connect with nature and have some peaceful time.

I will say that the mosquitoes were terrible, so don't go without an ample supply of bug spray. Also, the raccoons in this park are BOLD and cheeky. Keep your food and trash out of reach of the critters. Overall, though, it was a beautiful park.
