This is an area we are unfamiliar with and let alone we ended up pulling into this sketchy area as it was the closest off the freeway. My family and I had to leave our vehicle behind an alley and run to find a safe place to find a tow company. I called a few places and they told them our situation and they were quoting $600+ plus to tow and drive us back to the Valley. I ended up finding Hawks via Yelp and decided to give them a call. I ended up speaking with a nice individual and he quoted us half the price. They came to our rescue and had to bring a flatbed due to the type of vehicle we had. They replaced the brakes unDer warranty and I paid for the brake fluid replacement. Another entire day lost. A week later, my manual clutch feels spongy. Maybe its just me I thought...until tonight (saturday), and my 2020 124 spider wont go into gear. Ai told me there was likely an air bubble in the brake/clutch fluid. Ofc the shop isnt open until monday. Frantically i called mobile mechanics to bleed my slave cylinder. Jeremy texted me back immediately after missing my call to confirm he could do it. An hour or so later, he bled the system but only half the gears worked. He then suspected a linkage misalignment, and broke down the console to realign it manually. Half hour later, all gears worked. 2 for 2 in less time than my oil change took at the other hellhole. Jeremy saved me thousands because another shop would have replaced my clutch, then the entire transmission, and potentially STILL miss the bleed and linkage.
