I'm not going to lie. I LOATHE Real Estate Agents. We all have 20 friends who are RE agents in the Bay. We read their FB posts, we see their sponsored ads on NextDoor and EVERYONE and their dog tells you they can sell your house. Well of course they can - it's the Bay Area where everyone is hungry for a house! This is my 2nd property I've ever owned (Oakland) with a condo in Campbell being my 1st and I sold it in 2009 after the market crashed. When I sold my Campbell condo, I met with about 2-3 REA and they told me they could sell it, HOWEVER.... all of my proceeds would go into their pocket (which was about $35k) and leave me penniless. I was astounded! I told them I would sell it myself and lo and behold - I DID... on Craigslist... and I was able to pocket that $35k! Now fast forward to 10 years later in a crazy market... I called Angelo and a couple of others who had different percentage rates. I originally went with Redfin because of their 1% fees and I wasn't in any particular rush because it wasn't Spring season yet and it was still pouring cats and dogs and I had a plan in place.... if I didn't like Redfin, I would fire them. Well, 40+ days on the market and my agent was proving he was losing steam! I FIRED HIM. I then called Angelo to take over. He was at the highest commish paid, but now I can compare ORANGES to APPLES and let me tell you, I should probably start calling Angelo "Orangelo" because he is THAT different and AMAZING! LOL! I am not the one who crosses my t's and dots my i's and to be honest, I overlook a lot of things (esp in contract). I've had a couple of pages sent back to me because Angelo noticed I did it wrong. hahahah. Don't ask me how I still have a day job for overlooking stuff... lol. Angelo answers all my questions in a fast, efficient manner (except one time I could not get in touch with him when he was in a meeting). But other than that, he has been responsive, which was my #1 reason for picking him. Orangelo was perfect in helping me (and calming me) during my house sell, which was suppose to take 21 days but winded up being OVER 30 days (insert panic attacks here). Luckily, everything went well with the buyers' lender and there was in fact, no reason to freak out at all on my end. I sold my house at THE TOP my price range! I think it surprised Orangelo too and everyone walked away happy. If you are going to consider Redfin, don't do it... I had 2 offers with Redfin who went in at asking AND my agent wasn't as available as I wanted him to be. Angelo got me $50k more. Angelo is seriously the best. We loved working with him. He helped my husband and me buy our first home in the incredibly hot market of Berkeley in 2016. Then he helped us sell our home in late spring of 2021. When we came to him in 2016, we had no idea what we were doing or how to navigate the Bay real estate market. He helped us find a really trustworthy person to get our financing. He walked us through the possibilities of where we could live on our smallish (by Bay Area standards) budget. I'm coming out of Yelp hibernation to leave a review for an excellent realtor! As a first time home seller, I was nervous about finding a realtor I could trust. I found Angelo on a Yelp search and initially intended to meet with a few people prior to selecting one, but after our first meeting I didn't feel the need to meet with anyone else. Angelo took his time to explain the entire selling process to me, provided me with well researched comps in the area, and discussed cost effective improvements I could make to my condo to make it more attractive to buyers. Though I moved out of the area during the selling process, Angelo took care of everything for me and kept me updated throughout the entire process.
