Magnificent experience from the Staff, Radiation Specialist, and Dr. Mancuso. Smart, pleasant and professional, every one of my 25+ visits over the last 10 years has saved me time and pain through early diagnosis and treatment. A genuine Community gem. read more

The patient room I was in was not clean, no soap for handwashing and no wipes to disinfect the room. The carpet was blackish with stain. In fact, I can't believe there was carpet in the office. The Dr was very knowledgeable, but the lack of cleanliness made me choose another place. This was in 2022. I hope it has improved. read more

The first time I was scheduled to see Mancuso, every time I'd search for the correct address to put into my GPS, it led me to the Decatur location. Thankfully, when I called the Madison location and explained, they said they could "still squeeze me in" that day. I didn't know it would be at the expense of others who were probably waiting a long time for their scheduled appointments. It was a long wait when I got there the first time, but I understood that because I was already late to begin with, and I was just grateful they could squeeze me in. When I got to see Mancuso, he barely looked at my face, which is concerning given he's a dermatologist. He seemed to want to get out as quickly as possible, and that seems to be a trend according to several reviews. The visits never lasted much longer than five minutes. That's a lot of money to pay for only five minutes. Part of the reason why I was referred to Mancuso was because of several physical symptoms I've been experiencing, including fatigue, dizziness, lightheadedness, acne, dry skin, redness, and loss of consciousness. The fatigue, dizziness, and lightheadedness symptoms all have been affecting my life for over a year. I don't know what's causing any of this. I just know it's really hard for me to do daily tasks, I cannot work, I can't focus, and a lot of specialists can't seem to figure out what's going on with me. Unfortunately, if Mancuso is correct, all I have is rosacea, but the medications and treatment plan seemed to be working, although he never explained side effects for any of the medication he prescribed me. He also doesn't go into great detail about potential triggers. He gave me a tiny, cut up piece of paper with a few things on it, but I had to figure out vanilla was another trigger. The second time I'm scheduled to see Mancuso, I arrive early, and I was still waiting over an hour to go in the back. At one point, I asked how many others were in front of me, and staff seemed to forget I had gotten there early. They said only two people were in front of me, but then they continued to call back six to eight others, too. Well past closing time, they finally called me to the back, and the exam rooms really are filthy and claustrophobic. I know you can't have the doors to the exam rooms open, but I still tried to open mine anyway. I couldn't stand the smell of the carpet, and I couldn't stand the tiny size of the exam room. And it really felt like no one had cleaned or changed out anything before putting me in that back room. More waiting in the back room, and Mancuso doesn't really look at me. He was eager to get it over with the first time I came to see him, and this time was no different. He did not care that I was upset. If he cares about his patients, he has a weird way of showing it. I've been dealing with some specialists who don't care for over a year because of my other symptoms, too, and he was kind of the last straw for me. I got out of the exam room quicker than he probably could have had me out of there, canceled all future appointments, and slammed the door on my way out. I thought I was overreacting a little, and maybe with the door slamming I was. Doing further research on this guy has been very eye opening though. Several reviews on several sites discussing the lack of hygiene in the exam rooms, carpets that have been moldy and uncleaned since at least 2016, potentially peroxide that's been sitting on their exam room counters since '98, rushed visit times and more time spent in the waiting rooms, and a doctor who does not really care very much. I really think it would interest people to know this doctor's stance on COVID-19 and masks. Several reviews discuss Dr. Mancuso's politics getting in the way of his job, him telling one patient "Fauci is a crook." He and his staff NEVER wore masks once during the pandemic. I think it would also interest people to know Mancuso has publicly shared on his Facebook page a group that he's a part of, The Civil War Buff, which has an interesting About section. "Made in defiance of the original Civil War Buff Group, we defend the Southern viewpoint in the conflict; A viewpoint our fellow Americans who themselves, 'Communists,' 'Socialists,' Black Lives Matter, Antifa, or Free Palestine wish to destroy. We stand in as a light against the darkness of their misinformations and goal to change the Constitution to fit their ideology and secure reparations all in the name of social justice." Misspellings and incorrect punctuation placement are as written on the Facebook group's page, of which Dr. Angelo Mancuso is ignorantly a part of. Something tells me a lot of his patients would not be willing to see him if they knew he was "defending the Southern viewpoint" in the "Civil War conflict." Yeah, at first I felt bad for the way I handled my previous visit. Not really, anymore. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. A Mancuso's on an off for 10+ years. I absolutely adore him, super knowledgeable and professional.

I've been to Dr. Mancuso a few times. Here are my general thoughts/impressions: * A friendly demeanor (mostly). Seems like a nice enough guy (in a different setting), but he has issues when it comes to on-the-job professionalism, managing a business/medical practice, and actually respecting his patients. * Literally NEVER washes his hands. NEVER puts on gloves unless doing a surgical procedure. Touches you with unwashed, ungloved hands. VERY disrespectful--and dangerous during a pandemic. Is this the 1800s?! Sinks are ALWAYS bone dry--never used. Where have his hands been?! What skin condition did the patient before you have?! Washing hands is a BASIC medical procedure, right?! * Shakes your hand when entering and leaving the exam room. Doctors should NEVER shake hands with their patients -- especially when they clearly don't wash/glove their hands between EACH patient. * Interrupts you constantly. Diagnoses you before you can even finish your sentences. Pretty rude/disrespectful. * Exam rooms are NASTY. Carpet is filthy. Why carpet?! In an exam room?! * Nurses are often unfriendly and condescending, and NONE wear their masks properly in a pandemic. This is an indicator of their own lack of professionalism as nurses, and a direct reflection of Dr. Mancuso as a physician, as a business owner, and as a leader/business manager. HE establishes the environment that his patients will experience, and the standards/procedures that his nurses must follow. Perhaps he needs a new/better office manager (and a training program for his nursing staff)? * Blasts obnoxiously loud, extremely unpleasant music in the waiting area, AND in the exam rooms. Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, and Bobby Darin over and over and over and over, until you want to pull your hair out and stuff it in your ears to shut out the fifteenth playing of "Mack the Knife!" Honestly, I don't know how the nursing staff can stand it! * As many doctors do, he routinely overbooks appointments and keeps you waiting FAR too long in the waiting room, AND in the exam room. He obviously values his OWN time (and income), FAR more than he values/appreciates his patients' time. Very disrespectful. * Has hydrogen peroxide in one exam room that expired in 1998!!! It expired TWENTY TWO YEARS AGO!!!(Photo proof accompany a this review.) How has this been sitting there since BILL CLINTON WAS PRESIDENT??!! A clear indicator that NO ONE at Dr. Mancuso's office cares about doing their job in a competent or professional manner -- including Dr. Mancuso himself, and the nurses who are SUPPOSED TO (but clearly don't) check, inventory, and restock the exam rooms with proper supplies (preferably from THIS century). It makes one wonder what else is expired, unsanitary, and unsafe in his exam rooms. Yikes! * Has a ridiculous "no news is good news" policy for lab test results. In other words, if they don't call you with the lab results, you're to "assume" good lab results. Except... what if they're disorganized and just FORGOT to call you?! What if you had some questions?! Don't you DESERVE to know the results that you and your insurance PAID for?! How long could it possibly take someone to call patients and give them a verbal report? Or simply email them a copy? Or create an online patient portal and post the results there like all the other doctors do? Pathetic. Lazy. Consider these things, and the comments of other reviewers before subjecting yourself to this mess. read more

been seeing Doc Mancuso since 2016...He spotted the melanoma on my face when my primary doc said it was nothing. He's been treating me, my wife, and 90 year old father since then. Great doctor, very good staff too.. read more

What a miserable experience for so many reasons. Will never go back there. I had a 3:30 appointment and left at 5:15. I only saw the doctor for maybe 8 minutes. I waited over an hour to see the doctor. Doctor did not wear gloves. The room was filthy. Carpet disgusting. I felt uncomfortable the whole time I was there. read more

I was surprised that I was able to get an appointment quickly. I'd heard that dermatologist are notoriously difficult to get in to see. The staff was very friendly and professional. I had a skin cancer screening and Dr. Mancuso was very thorough and answered all my questions. Very clean and pleasant environment. read more

Dr Mancuso is friendly and knowledgeable and provides good care. It is however frustrating to be asked to show up early to do paperwork only to wait an hour past my appointment time. I'll try one more time but I can't afford to take over an hour off of work for a 15 minute appointment. read more

He's very professional and knowledgeable. A bit overbooked at times do you might wait to be seen but worth the wait. He's good at what he does. His bedside manner is old school yet he will take care of you on the spot instead of waiting and rescheduling. So that is a plus read more

I like Dr. Mancuso. But the office is terrible. I have always had to wait at least an hour to be seen. There is no excuse for that. If they would fix their scheduling problem it would be at least a 4 star. One other irritant is they are setup up like a store to sell you products. Seems weird to have a doctor's office pushing products. read more

My child was referred to this physician. We were finally seen 1 hour and 30 minutes after our appointment. When I started explaining my concerns about birthmark, he cut me off and was very belittling, stating they grow as you do and I stated I know this however, then he got loud and stated he is the only dermatologist who takes Medicaid in North Alabama so I need to be grateful. In the whole 7 minutes he spent with her, This made my 11 yr old child very uncomfortable from that moment on. Regardless of what insurance coverage you have, everyone should be treated with respect, if my 11 yr old felt like we waited that long because of her insurance coverage, it is not acceptable. We will not ever go back to him ever. I've also told my friends and family about this experience and they will never go as well. P.S. he isn't the only dermatologist in North Alabama who takes Medicaid, have your primary care physician research. read more

Dr. Mancuso is a great doctor but his staff are very unprofessional and rude. They have an attitude when they answer the phone. I've been a patient of his for over 5 years. I reschedule an appointment and cancel another due to job changes. I received a bill 2 months later stating I owed for 2 visit. When I called over the phone the young lady was very unprofessional and stated she will speak to the doctor and will call me back. Two weeks later I called the same young lady answer and had an attitude. When I asked to speak to the doctor she said he doesn't take personal call. This was not a personal call since I was his patient. I call back and told them to remove me as his patient. I'm very dissatisfied with the way they treat their patient. If you looking for a good doctor and don't mind the rudeness and no reminder calls about your upcoming appointment than his office will be fine. read more
