A skin cancer was detected and I have received further treatment and review to make sure no further issues developed. When I called to make the appointment I had them write it in the notes so he shouldn't have been surprised. He told me he's not doing it and I said my doctor needs it so I can start my medication that's crucial. I left and said I'm done. He tried stopping me and said I'll just do it. No, thank you! All he could say is I'm a doctor too. Just because you have MD behind your name doesn't make you a caring person. I'm sorry but you people need to go elsewhere or switch doctors. My first experience at another dermatology office in Madison was bad; instead of seeing the doctor with whom I'd scheduled an appointment I was handed off to a NP whose main interest was Botox. She barely looked at any of the possible skin cancer spots and rushed me out without a thorough exam. This experience was completely different and I'm very glad to have found Dr. Dai. My first impression of the office's physical environment was admittedly not positive; it's overdue for painting and other maintenance. I did have to wait a little while beyond my appointment time, but once I was in the exam room I never felt rushed or that the doctor was distracted. Any negatives were more than offset by the quality of care from the front desk to the nurse who did the biopsy prep to Dr. Dai himself. I've already recommended Dr. Dai to my husband.

When she first meets you she talks you through everything. She tells you how the laser works, what it will feel like, what you'll see in the weeks to come, etc. She has a great "bed side manner" and she seems to never be running behind schedule. If you're doing the laser hair removal you'll need to go back every 6 weeks for at least 6 treatments. The laser works best on dark hair and the area needs to be shaved prior to each treatment. The pain is not too bad, kinda feels like getting popped with a hot rubber band and it's really quick. I very rarely wait longer than 5 minutes in the waiting room, and once I'm back in an exam room I'm in and out in another 5 minutes. The staff here is great and when I complete my treatment I'll provide an update!

On my first visit I was very impressed that the doctor took time to sit down with me and explain what he had seen and what it could mean without my having to ask. He was very patient, took me through my condition and procedure step by step, made sure I was well informed, and most importantly did not make me feel like he was rushing to get done with me. It was great to feel like a person and not an item on the checklist. Wait times when you get to the office can vary. My first visit they weren't busy and I was taken to a room almost as soon as I was in. On my second visit there was a larger crowd but I still got back into a room and taken care of within fourty minutes of my appointment time. Not the worst wait I've ever had at a doctor's office. Plus, the online appointment scheduler for new patients was great. I didn't have to wait a month to be seen, I was able to get in and be seen in a week.
