Popped in on a weekend morning for brunch at Sanctuario- a quaint restaurant inside Angelfields. Better call in advance just in case the whole compound or parts of it is closed for private functions. It's a lovely place to stroll, a change of scenery with pocket gardens surrounded by tall trees. You could see a lot of detail (and devotion) was put into the design and materials of the place. It seems like a passion project of the Concepcions. Nice cobblestone paths, sloping roads peppered with lush greenery. They also have cute farm animals around! At the restaurant, gorgeous wooden interiors make it simply beautiful and rustic. Rating solely for the dining experience at Sanctuario. We were a group of 9 and food took a while to be served. The time between the first few plates and the last dish was about 20 minutes- to think we only ordered 4 variations of meals. It seemed like they cooked each meal individually because a same dish took 10 minutes apart. I had salmon eggs Benedict. Their version is served with hash browns instead of English muffins. Taste is just okay. Side salad of arugula kicked it up a notch. Steak and eggs, ham and cheese omelette and their tapa are so-so. Coffee is bold and nicely roasted. Their host told us it's Batangas brew. He seems like he knows his coffee from being a barista abroad! Would still go back to try their lunch-dinner menu.

I attended a wedding at Angelfields a few months ago and I absolutely fell in love with the place. They really are a nature sanctuary, with trees everywhere and the sounds of birds flying above you. It's so easy to forget that you're just beside a major road. The beauty of Angelfields lies in its simplicity. They don't impose any elaborate structures or decorations. Instead of chandeliers and draperies, they have tall trees and the beautiful sky above your head. They offer a venue beautiful on its own that you wouldn't even have to think much in terms of decorating it. I also like how it can be a one-stop place for a wedding. My friends had their wedding ceremony and reception here, making it so convenient for their guests. No one seemed to mind the drive and some just went on to Tagaytay or Nuvali afterwards to spend the night. And even if it isn't exactly in the heart of the city, it's just roughly a 1.5-2hour drive away and the journey is definitely worth it.

0 Star -- A Complete Waste of Time…read more We drove all the way from Makati to Tagaytay for an ocular, only to be completely ignored. First, the security guard asked us 10 different questions and it felt like an interrogation. We felt so unwelcome. Already, it was a terrible experience! Since we first spoke on October 5 and upon arrival, not a single person from your sales team reached out or followed up -- despite confirming the appointment for October 17 and assuring me that it was "noted." We waited for 20 minutes in your office, were eventually led to the "blue room" to meet the salespeople, and still waited endlessly. No one seemed to know what was going on. The entire experience was disorganized, unprofessional, and a total embarrassment for what's supposed to be a reputable resort. What makes this worse is that I had been messaging since October 5, trying to coordinate. Had your team shown even a fraction of professionalism, you could've had a full week's stay from guests who have shared stages with Tony Robbins and Oprah Winfrey, using your amenities daily and generating great exposure for your brand. Instead, you've shown a complete lack of awareness, urgency, and business sense. Opportunities like this don't knock twice -- and you've managed to slam the door shut on yours. Truly disappointing.

My husband and I were looking for a venue that made us both happy. He wanted something outdoorsy while I wanted something indoors (because I know how hard it is for ladies to deal with the heat and sinking in grass), but we both agreed that we did not want our reception to be in a hotel. We were both happy and satisfied when we checked out The Monochrome because it is an events place (complete with clean rest rooms and airconditioning) but it also opens to a wonderful view of the (man-made) lake and some greenery. We chose to have our reception during noon time so we can take advantage of the natural light. I had an easy time dealing with them for my wedding. They were approachable and assisted me throughout the planning months. Since it's very bare and mostly white, it is easy to decorate the place according to how you want your wedding/event to be. I also like how there are enough restrooms and a specific parking lot to make it more convenient for your guests. I would definitely recommend this place for an event!

Different looks and themes can easily suit simple venues, thus making it more versatile and could easily be offered to clients. Monochrome in Nuvali is exactly that. With two halls and one smaller function area in the middle, all three can be combined to accommodate up to 800 guests. The airconditioning units are elevated and built into the walls so there is even more potential for the flexibility in positioning key area like the stage, musicians, the VIP tables, etcetera. At least one side of each hall is all glass, giving guests a beautiful view of the garden and the man-made lake at a distance. Upon renting the venue, clients can also utilize the holding rooms to freshen up or use as storage. I once personally handled a wedding with the reception at Monochrome. We used the holding room for the couple to freshen-up, get retouch for make-up, and it was also from there that they made their grand entrance, descending from the stairs for all of the guests to watch.
