Statement Regarding Massage Experience in Virginia…read more I visited this establishment for a one-hour foot massage. Before the service began, I requested to see a copy of the massage therapist's license. The individual refused, stating he was "just an employee" and could not provide it. I informed him that, under Virginia law (18VAC115-20-50), massage therapy licenses must be displayed or made available upon request. Instead of complying, he handed me a business card and stated that only the owner could provide the license information. He then refused to offer me any treatment. At the time, there were no other customers present. The staff left me alone in the business while they sat outside in the mall.

Hands down one of the best massages I have received of all time and I've had plenty. My massage…read moretherapist actually listened to what I told her hurt, and was extremely accommodating with the pressure. My neck gives me a lot if trouble since my accident so I try to get a massage once the pain gets too unbearable. One thing that I really like is the fact that I was allowed to whisk away into my thoughts and my "calm place" , and wasn't disturbed by questions or conversation. Immediately after the massage I felt a difference in my neck! It was well appreciated. I definitely will be returning and referring friends and family.

I wasn't really happy here…read more I got a Groupon, first of all, which gave me the wrong address to go to. The first two emails gave me an address- which I went to- but the last email right before the appointment had a different address I didn't notice. So I went to place 1- wasn't right. Then drove to place two, was late (because again I was given the wrong address) and so my 75 minute massage turned into a 45 minute one. I wasn't given an apology or anything, I even showed the woman the first email she sent me with that address. The massage bed was dirty with oil, I actually included a photo because I didn't want to sound like I was exaggerating. I bought 75 reflexology, hot stone and paid an extra 15 dollars for deep tissue. Britney I believe did mine, and there was zero reflexology unless you include her circling my foot around my ankle. 5 seconds tops. She didn't do what most massage therapists do, which is when they find a knot or specific area- they work it out. Instead it felt like she was just sort of giving everything a quick go over. (I actually filled out paperwork prior to this explaining the areas needing work) My back which was by far my worst area- she did in 5-7 minutes. Literally did nothing. The pressure wasn't the issue so it's not as though telling her to increase it would help. I was SOAKED btw at the end in oil, I felt so gross. And I've had a million massages, so I understand the use of oil. But this was excessive. Oh! And in the middle of the massage she had to stop at least 7 times to do something or prepare something (I don't just mean the hot stones which I understand she had to heat up and get) for like 45 seconds each time. She'd be bumping stuff around, I heard items fall and 45 seconds is kind of a long time to wait while getting a massage that it makes it way less relaxing and flowing if it's stop and go a lot. The only things that were great was the foot massage(that was EXCELLENT) and both women I spoke to were in general very nice. I just wasn't happy with my massage. The decor was also nice. Also at the end I asked if I could tip on the card and with the massage therapist literally standing next to me the woman asked "so how much will you tip her?" So it was awkward. I wanted to say "honestly 5-10% because it wasn't great at all" but felt weird being that big of a jerk so I did 20%. I hate writing bad reviews especially for a place with only 1 review so far so I know it will impact it... but this is some real honest feedback. Update: They contacted me on their Facebook review replies and essentially called me a liar, telling me the photo I took wasn't accurate and that I lied about the tip. I saw another review from someone on their Facebook who had similar issues and was also responded to badly. They said God told them to focus on positive reviews not bad ones

Zen Foot Spa is amazing!!! I just went for the third time. Each service has been similarly perfect…read more They really get in there. I had only ever been to big chain massage places and it's always hit or miss, the therapists often talk to me a lot, they use showy techniques that don't really help me. Zen foot spa uses reflexology, hot stones, and physiology to really make you feel good, and they don't bug you with conversation so it's a very serene environment. I get so relaxed after that I feel like I'm under the influence. The pricing is very fair!! Much more reasonable than the chain places and it's consistently been worth paying for. Love this place. Btw it's quite nice inside!!

What a wonderful experience. Two of my friends and I went for hour-long foot massages. The place is…read moreso soothing and calming, and the treatment room is beautiful. We each laid down on the "bed" with our feet dangling into a container of warm water. A blanket was put on each of us. While our feet were soaking, the massage therapists rubbed our arms and hands. They proceeded to wash and dry our feet after the arm massage. The foot and leg massage was beyond heavenly. Two of us dozed off. It felt like every cell in my body was soothed. They rubbed our feet and legs with their hands and then with hot stones before finishing by wiping and drying us. I have never had such a wonderful foot massage and I get full body massages every two weeks from another place. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is because communication was difficult. I have two bad hips. When my massage therapist manipulated my legs, I almost yelped in extreme pain. I jumped and bit back tears a few times. Next time I go, I will do better at communicating my issues before we start and I will try to make sure they understand me. I slept so well last night! I DEFINITELY will go again. My two friends said the same thing. Hmm...maybe a monthly girls day idea.

When I arrived the ladies were very friendly and made me feel welcome. The shop was small with only a few massage rooms but it was very clean and organized. The massage room was a couple's massage room so it had two beds although it was just me. It was simple but relaxing with dimmed lights and a nice smell. My massage therapist was very sweet and told me to let her know if it was too much. I like my deep tissue massages very deep and she did not disappoint. She spent a lot of time really working out all the knots in my shoulders. I also really loved when she used the hot stones over my back which was heavenly. She ended the massage by stretching me out a bit which was nice for my worked muscles. I left the massage feeling very relaxed and much better.
