The suction pulls out the stagnation in the muscles and brings it to the surface of the skin, leaving the infamous cupping "marks". Cupping marks are NOT bruises. They are the result of stagnant interstitial debris being released during treatment and may last a few hours to a few days. "What is Gua Sha?": Gua Sha is scraping of the skin to stimulate microcirculation of the soft tissue. It is meant to increase circulation and rid the body of stagnation that is the cause of inflammation. Gua sha also helps to break up myofascial adhesions and helps get rid of stubborn knots. The scraping may cause the tiny blood vessels in the skin to rupture, resulting in the gua sha markings. However these fade fairly quickly, usually in a few days. "What is CBD?": CBD, or Cannabidiol, is a non psychoactive chemical from the Hemp plant. CBD works with our body's natural Endocannabinoid System to ease pain, inflammation, arthritis, depression, anxiety, and more.

I came after purchasing a 60 minute Groupon. I walked up a flight of stairs and down an old hallway…read morewith several doors on either side that led to individual studios. Daniela was waiting for me and led me into a small room. She immediately noticed that my socks had left red marks on my legs and she implored me to never wear them again as it was cutting of the flow of blood to my feet. I have to say I had never been sock shamed before! She was more gentle than anything, not using too much force. I definitely did not feel tight afterwards. She also explained some potential issues in my spine and hips and showed me how to sit properly so that I was centered on my sit bones. So even if I didn't understand all the specific body terms and what not, I was glad that she gave me some ideas to take with me.

So I found this Groupon ad for a 90 minute massage and wanted to purchase this for my mother who…read moresuffers from arthritis. Before I make any purchases I like to be very clear and mention my request ahead of time to avoid any miscommunication, prices/fees, etc. I called the number given which seemed to be a cell number opposed to an actual business number. Ok that's cool. So the chick sent me straight to voicemail and texted my phone to "Please text me". I did exactly as she requested and was very clear as to what I was looking for. Approximately 5-8 mins after the text, I received a call from Daniela as she stated her name. This heifer had a nerve to have a very terrible demeanor over the phone. She sounded like she was mad I was trying to give her a little business. She then complained my text was "too long" to read. Ummmm.... isn't that what you asked me to do???? So she began to banter back and forth with me over a call versus a text! What professional does this?! Needless to say the turn up came very quickly for me and I had to give Daniela Stevenson a piece of my mind. This is why I call and inquire before I purchase because if you mishandle or disrespect me, you don't get my money.

I purchased the Groupon in the evening after they'd closed but called the next morning and was able to be scheduled for a facial within two days, awesome! The inside of the place was very nice and the staff was all welcoming. They immediately got me some cold water while I filled out my waiver. My aesthetician who's name I want to say was Jenelle was very attentive. She asked about any skin care concerns I had, be sure to note any products you are actively using on your skin. My facial was very soothing and relaxing and the spa is kept at a quiet volume so there are no interruptions. I will definitely be back for a massage and more facials in the future!

So want to give them five stars!…read more It took forever to redeem my Groupon for this venue but the wait was worth it! I gifted my mom a 60 minute massage to this venue as a just because gift. And she absolutely loved everything about this place and the massage itself...super relaxing (her words)! While I want to give them 5 stars, scheduling the appointment was a headache. I scheduled the massage way in advance, but I had to reschedule it to accommodate my mom's every changing schedule. I would like to think, if I kept the original appointment. as is, then I would have experienced no issues. Yes, issues exist from time to time, beyond ones control, but the customer service I received for weeks was super unappreciated. After the runaround and a cancellation 30 minutes before the appointment.. Yes!! I was in route to the appointment and received a call 30 minutes before (appointment scheduled weeks in advance) and the young lady advised "we will have to reschedule your massage because ______ has left for the day. I was super annoyed! But after I calmed down and rescheduled... all went well. My mom had an appointment on a Friday afternoon and my babe had an appointment on a Saturday early evening. They both gave the massage 5 stars and look forward to returning super soon. This venue is located in the heart of Phoebus, a historic area in Hampton. There are several mom and pop shops nearby. This venue is also owned by those that own Mango Mangeaux restaurant that is walking distance from the spa. They also have a boutique hotel that's now open for business. Once we arrived, we were immediately greeted. My mom was asked to fill out paperwork before services were rendered. We were offered fruit infused water. I loved the smell of the spa...smelled refreshing and was super inviting. And I love the orange color concept. I was tempted to schedule an appointment just based on the ambiance. I would highly recommend you all try this place. There is only one masseuse and she offers massages for men and women. Check Groupon you may find a discount there. They offer other spa services as well. Make sure you schedule your appointment way in advance. Weekends tend to fill up super quick. They will also call to confirm your appointment a day or two in advance. Just a note, if you run into concerns of no return calls after leaving several voicemail messages, reach out to the restaurant and ask to speak to a Manager. I resulted to that after a week of no return phone calls and I received a call within 24 hours from the spa. Free parking is available on the street. I do not believe a parking garage is nearby. But visiting the spa on a weekend and a weekday parking was not an issue. Have fun and enjoy life!
