Wanting to venture out and see what else was out there I went to the Midland parks and recreation website and found a list of playgrounds in the area. We decided to go to Grafa Park today and WOW! It. Is. AWESOME!! The playground is HUUUUUUGE! There is so much to do on it: climb, slide, explore! It's super tall too (which, with a 18mo, I had to get up there with him because the openings for the ladders make me SUPER nervous.) But, hey, it was so much fun for me too!!! The slides are GREAT! There is also a huge walking track around the reservoir(???) I think that's what it is. My kids (and I) LOVED it! We brought a sub sandwich, chips and our drinks and had a picnic at one of the many picnic tables here. There are also plenty of benches and shade trees too! So glad we found this park! We can't wait to come back!!!!

This is a very sweet park which we are so happy to have found! It's not so big but there's a…read morewonderful play structure on one end and a big lawn with a walking trail on the perimeter. And best of all, lots of SHADY TREES! We've found an evening walk here to be a nice way to wind down the day. It's very relaxing as there's often a cool breeze funneling under the trees and a high gate between the park and the road to protect from all the cars. Nestled enough within a neighborhood that it isn't dusty (locals know what I'm saying!) and full of people playing with their dogs and families until sun down, so it feels very safe. About the dogs - they've always been good boys and girls and we have had no problems at all with them. However, we have found a lot are actually off leash when they play so just an FYI, if it's not your thing.

My favorite would be bounce classes taught by Patience Jones. She always has great jams lined up, gets your heart rate up in fast-paced cardio sessions, and truly makes you sweat. My daughter attended this gym for a couple of months to hone her tumbling. Her trainers sat around…read morewhile she used the time as a de facto open gym time. The signup process was easy, but the cancellation process nearly impossible because the gym doesn't answer the phone, has a full voicemail, and doesn't list their email anywhere. I tried cancelling on the payment portal, but the best I could do was send a message which was never acknowledged. I finally found someone on their Facebook page who refused to allow me to cancel without paying an additional month. They pointed to language in their payment policy that does not actually say that registration is recurring or that payments are automatic. I guess they can keep the lights on as long as they can get enough folks to sign up and struggle to cancel for poor service for a few months at a time.

I got invited by a coach from F45 and I'm so glad I said YES because this was NOT what I expected in Midland. Neon lights, club lighting , selfie spots everywhere, cute merch, a full lounge area... like why am I working out but also ready to order a drink and stay awhile? The class itself was so fun. Loud music, rhythm based lifting, cycling in a separate room, and these cushy numbered mats that every gym needs immediately because my knees felt respected for once. Locker rooms, showers, everything you need. Also the vibe is just cool. You actually want to be here, you want to take pics, you want to hang out after. My only tiny note is I wish they were on the ClassPass App because this place deserves to be discovered by way more people. Honestly I see so much potential here it's kind of wild. This space is perfect for a wellness bar , IV drips, events, Soundbaths, infrared yoga , pop ups, even a little juice or acai or smoothie situation business would go OFF in here. Like a buisness within the Business to keep the community pouring into a speakeasy style wellness bar . It already feels like a whole experience, not just a workout. I had such a good time and I'll definitely be back... especially when those cute socks are restocked and those trucker hats are for sale because I'm still thinking about them.
