Cindy is just as sweet in person as she is on the phone. She sat and talked with me about what I…read morewanted for my cut and suggested tips for me to try in order to get the perfect beach wave (I have 2b waves). She ended up cutting my hair perfectly. It's beautiful layered and feels so healthy. The cuts here are a bit pricy but I think a good cut every few months is worth the money. **the salon is located upstairs!!

I liked Abstract A. I saw Jordan, and she was very personable. I didn't want a complicated trim,…read moreand she delivered. Bonus points for calling me to let me know that the client ahead of me was running far over time and that I should wait to come in - the space is small, so I wouldn't have wanted to wait there, and I was able to work at home until my appt. The price is the best I've seen in Cleveland and they give student discounts, which, in addition to client pics online and a good location, is what primarily drew me here. However, I do recommend double checking with your stylist about how much you will owe -- I went in thinking the price would be the same as online, but was charged more, so even though it's not very expensive, I would recommend double-checking. I got a very standard trim, and Jordan did a great job taking off all of my dead ends. I perhaps might have liked more layering than what she did, but she respected that I wanted to be able to pull all of my hair back into a ponytail, which was still very much possible. The main downside was that she waited far too long to straighten my bangs, so by the time she wanted to do them, they had already dried in a super weird way and needed to be re-wetted and re-dried before she could trim them. I told her this was going to happen, since I have super thin hair, but I don't think she believed me. But overall, I got a really nice cut, and will likely be coming back.

Went to Manifest on a Thursday evening with a friend to do some light studying while pampering…read moreourselves. Well worth it. *Book in advance For a regular manicure and express pedicure for two, I recommend you book at least two weeks in advance to schedule your preferred time. We booked ~4 weeks out for a weeknight reservation that suited both of our schedules. *Plan to come early or stay late to enjoy the ambiance. We arrived about 20 minutes early. This gave us ample time to take off our coats (they have a coat rack at the entry), pick our color, grab a seat at the bar, peruse the menu, take a few sips while doing work. *Great cocktails Stephanie was at the bar, and she makes a great cocktail. We ordered apple butter bourbon, a cold weather take on an old fashioned. She had makers mark, woodford reserve, and bulleit. I went with woodford. Not too sweet, whiskey forward, and you're able to appreciate all of the flavors. Wonderful. * The selection for regular (not gel) polishes is limited. I was hoping to paint my nails green, but there were only 3-4 options. I saw the perfect range of shades in the gel selection, but alas nothing similar in the non-gel polishes. They do have other pretty colors, so be flexible. * This place is a great experience. It was not the best non-gel manicure or pedicure I'd ever gotten, but when you put the rest of the pieces together (the decor, the staff, the drinks, the conversation, the Van Aken location, the amount of time I spent there, and more) that for only $70 I felt amazing. It was probably one of the most enjoyable experiences I've had at a nail salon. I'll definitely come again with a friend for a night of cocktails and pampering.

A few things: You said I booked a $25 beard trim. What I actually booked was a $32 (obviously,…read morebefore the reversal). I can show you the receipt. You said I was 11 minutes late. 11 minutes. Most dentists, doctors' offices, and social services offices provide a grace period of 15 minutes. That's a reasonable accommodation for traffic conditions. Even still, being 11 minutes late has nothing to do with me not having an empty chair when I got there. I could understand if it was 20 minutes. I arrived early to my 1st and 2nd appointments; and, the 1st appointment was good , which is why I booked the 2nd. I still waited 30-40 minutes before the second appointment began. On my 3rd appointment, I waited 10 minutes until the receptionist was off the phone just to be checked in and told that another barber would be completing my service. I said OK and was told he was finishing up. I waited another 10 minutes (while I read the reviews of the lounge) before I walked out. If we are talking about punctuality, I'll give you the 11 minutes, and you still owe me some time. I guess all those other people in the reviews complaining about your double-booking were 11 minutes late as well. You already stated in your own words, "To feel slighted is absolutely understandable and I will personally own that." There is nothing more to say after that. To accuse me of being condescending when all I am doing is telling my side tells me two things. #1, you don't know what condescending means. And #2, you don't know what accountability means. Lastly, I have never seen or spoken with a Lozell S. I spoke with a woman that day. I did not get her name. I was never asked, nor was I ever offered an opportunity to speak with the owner. If I had, I would have taken that opportunity. I am a reasonable person. I asked her if I could receive 50% back. She said no refunds. I said OK. She never mentioned a refund at all. I took it like a life lesson, and I left peacefully. I did not know I had been given a refund until after I left my initial review. Even then, I only asked for 50% back. If anyone says anything different, it is a lie. I did receive the deposit back, and it is appreciated. To anyone reading this: Read my comment carefully. Then read the response from the owner. Then ask yourself if you really want to take the chance of having to deal with this. A professional owner would have stopped at "To feel slighted is absolutely understandable, and I will personally own that." Instead, this owner would rather call the customer a liar in a Yelp review. Read the other reviews and ask yourself if you think I'm lying. This has been wild.
