I was very impressed with his website and portfolio, so my fiance and I set up a meeting with him. During that meeting with Rob, we were blown away about how much he knows about photography. You could tell he has a passion for this. My fiance(now husband) wanted to book Rob right away, but I didnt want to put all our eggs in one basket right away. We met with another solo photographer who could not even compare to Rob and we met with a big box company who insulted us and really just tried to sell their "made in italy" custom books, not the photography. Rob was always prompt with getting back to me as I had a lot questions and he explained everything. Our engagement session was a blast and when I saw the proofs, they were just perfect! Before the wedding, Rob was in touch with us and suggested an alternate site for wedding pictures. When we drove by, I fell in love with it! However, due to the heat on our wedding date, we went back to the bar my fiance (husband) met at and Rob was completely on board! The week of the wedding called us and we were able to discuss day of planning and we were all on the same page! For the day of, Rob and his crew were on time and started snapping away! He was professional, but fun to work with! I can't wait to see the pictures!!!! We also used his digital photo booth which was something new as the "strips" are emailed to the parties instead of printed out. Some of the pictures I took with friends turned out okay, but some were really dark which was disappointing. Overall, his price is reasonable for the area and I always believe you get what you pay for with photography. He is passionate and knowledgeable about the industry, is easy to talk to and provides a great product.

He subtly coaxes you into the right position, getting the scene balanced and perfect without saying much. Then he does this cute smile and says only, "awesome." Then he snaps some amazing photos. Chad did both our engagement and wedding photos and we couldn't have been much happier. We spent a lot of time investigating dozens of wedding photographers in the Chicago area, so let me save you a lot of work: if you're looking for something arty (but not too arty), something that has a sort of photojournalism feel while still beautiful, and photos that are rich in color and are a fantastic mix portrait and candid shots, Chad is your guy. And working with Chad was good. He's a bit goofy and shy when you first meet him, but he always made us feel comfortable when he was at work. Especially the engagement photos can feel little odd and first (who really has experience being casually photographed for two hours), but he did a great job easing us in. The pics turned out wonderfully. On the big wedding day, I heard nothing but great things about Chad from the guests. He was all over the place without getting in the way and was always willing to snap a small group shot when asked. If I were to say anything critical, I would point out one indelicate moment. Before he left at the end of the reception, he asked me for the rest of the payment for his services. I totally understand that he has probably been burned in the past with people waiting months past their wedding day to ante up, but I wasn't really in a "transact business" kind of mode in the waning hours of my wedding reception. But, easy fix: just make sure you take care of these details ahead of time. Chad's pricing is maybe a bit above the wedding photo average, but in my opinion, his work is well, well above average. This is partially because I had the time of my life at my wedding, of course, but also because Chad's photos of the event are BEAUTIFUL! He made the lighting look perfect (although I know it wasn't), the compositions look balanced and interesting (who knew my parents' backyard was so fabulous?), and he found really cool spots to take photos that show off Chicago's beauty or the natural surroundings while framing the people in the photos perfectly. Plus, I've never been so dolled up in my life (and don't expect to be again), so it's wonderful that Chad captured the moment, and the beauty of all my guests as well! Let me start by saying that if you do alot of hunting on Yelp like I did, and look for pro photographers with a lot of experience, you will be hard-pressed to find one as flexible and affordable as Julia. She was recommended to me by another pro photographer. Though her Yelp profile is new, she's been around and established for years on her website YouMePhotography.com . After seeing her impressive portfolio and her rates, I knew I wanted to book her for the event. Julia shot the wedding of John and Sofia on April 25th, 2015 at the Four Seasons Hotel in Chicago. She was the type of photographer who was very conscious of capturing genuine and intimate moments as well as the prepared ones. And she approached it all with a big smile and knew how to make people feel comfortable and get the best out a picture be it a solo pose, couple shot, or pictures with the whole family. I've seen photographers before who just roll through a few planned poses, take the pics, and call it a day, but not Julia, she was dynamic, took both spontaneous photos and knew how to direct the most flattering ones, and adapted to the ever-changing settings and situation. My favorite part of all was where Julia had already researched around the hotel and found nearby within walking distance, a beautiful castle-esque locale complete with courtyard and garden. But it turned out to be 40 some degrees outside and windy that day so she asked the bride and groom if they still wanted to go to there or she could find something else on the spot. But they were up for it and what resulted were the most beautiful shots from the wedding with great direction to make those special moments happen. All in all 11/10. I will definitely be booking Julia again for future events in Chicago.

I say amazing cause her one kid is totally paparazzi shy. Every time I have tried to take a pic or anyone else, this kid blinks or turns his head, frowns or whatever. Tiia was able to photograph him smiling and having fun which is a first. I LOVED the gallery wall Tiia created for my girlfriend. Anyone that knows me, knows that I am a art wall sucker. When I first spoke with Tiia I immediately liked her. She has a really great personality and is just plain friendly.
