This is a probably an unusual thing to say about getting surgery but I had a GREAT experience regarding my shoulder surgery and bicep tenodesis with Dr. Feldman. I have been active for most of my life - distance runner and swimmer for the last 15 years - but I started doing less and less over the last few years as I noticed I was losing mobility in my right shoulder. I worked around it by changing my work out routines, eventually just cycling so I wouldnt aggravate my shoulder... but then I noticed I was having trouble picking my arm up overhead to change my clothes. I'm 27 and still wanted to go back to swimming, so this clearly was not ideal. My consult with Dr. Feldman was short and sweet: if you want your lifestyle back, surgery is the way to go. He certainly didn't push for surgery, he asked me about my expectations and laid out the options for me. I scheduled my surgery for literally the following week. The whole experience was so efficient, especially at the hospital itself. The NYU staff were all so friendly and attentive to detail, the place was pristine, the surgery was on time and my fiance (who was so worried in the waiting room) told me that all the hospital staff were so kind and let him know how I was doing the whole time. I was so nervous in the operating room but everyone there was great and put me at ease. I had three follow ups with Dr. Feldman post-op: at 1 week, 6 weeks, and 4 months. All of them went by quick. At week 1, I had my stitches taken out and got the go ahead to start PT. At 6 weeks, Dr. Feldman evaluated my progress - I was exactly where I should be at that point, based on the PT program he gave me. At 4 months, I was discharged because I am fully recovered and have regained full, pre-injury mobility. I was in a sling for the first 4 weeks, then I was doing PT 2-3x a week for 12 weeks before going down to 1x a week. I've been swimming since 12 weeks post-op and building my strength back up. You'd be surprised how much your muscles atrophy after just a few DAYS immobilized in a sling... so PT early and often is key. Anyway, overall I've had no complications during recovery and for a major surgery, I've had an incredibly smooth recovery process. I would highly recommend Dr. Feldman to anyone considering shoulder surgery. And I want to shout out his entire team, because we are only as good as our supporting cast. A lot of reviews cite the rudeness of him and his office staff but I think they're all doing amazing work. I haven't had a single poor experience with anyone there, they actually went above and beyond all my expectations. Mo was in constant communication, coordinated with my lovely fiance to pick up the ice machine, even helped us with the process of submitting a claim for it to the insurance company. The woman at the front desk is super efficient despite being swamped all the time. When I was scheduling my last follow up, I asked if they could call me the day before to remind me, she was honest and said its probably going to be too busy for her to do that but she can give me an appointment card. I honestly had such a seamless experience with Dr. Feldman, the only thing is that the wait times in the office can tend to be slightly long... like varies between 10 minutes to an hour because he does spend the appropriate time with you to evaluate you and your progress. I am soooooo grateful that Dr. Feldman is even in-network with my insurance. Most people don't appreciate how little the doctor gets paid out through your insurance and are then appalled that they're "rushed" through his office. I've been to doctors offices where doctors speed patients through conveyor belts so they can make as much money as possible, and this ain't it. I think, in total, he was paid like $900 after adjustments from my insurance?! For all his expertise and time, and how much love/care he put into my surgery, that's just insane. I hope the NYU network compensates Dr. Feldman appropriately because he's amazing and they do not want to lose him. TLDR: I really hope to never need shoulder surgery again, but I'll definitely come back if I do. read more

Dr. Feldman is seriously the best orthopedic surgeon around. He has done five surgeries on me - shoulders, torn meniscus and bunions (although he doesn't do feet anymore!) He is no nonsense, talks straight and is very skilled and masterful. The office staff are helpful and everything about my diagnosis, surgery and post op visits has been excellent. I have recommended him to friends in need of an orthopedist and they have been happy with their results. Don't look any further. He is the absolute best at what he does. read more

Ok I meant to update this review but the misunderstanding I had with the office staff was quickly cleared up by Moe. I maintained relationship with Dr. Feldman and they were diligent with processing the worker's comp insurance to allow me to continue my PT sessions. Dr Feldman, Moe, and the rest of the team were fantastic getting me out of years of pain and fixing a shoulder that was pretty messed up. They were all professional and knowledgeable, making me feel like my issues were routine for them - which was a great sign. These guys are pros and I'd trust them with my other shoulder in a second. I started post-op PT 2 months after my initial consult. In between, they sent me to imaging, neurologists, and saw me multiple times to detail and explain the surgery and recovery plan. After keeping relatively still on the operating table and following the rehab protocol to a T, I'm 7 months post surgery, and things feel great! The team took what was a stressful and ponderous experience, broke it into manageable tasks, explained the steps and managed my expectations. I could not be more grateful! This doctor failed to be even remotely kind, did NOT listen to me, which could've caused even more damage or worse, and never checked in for follow up. I had to ask the questions and provide the answers. If you need something (hip, knee, shoulder) repaired, try Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS). They are ace and they listen and have the best rep. And they don't over bill. Feldman's affiliated hospital (NYU Langone) in a separate incident, caused harm. read more

I tore my meniscus in my right knee with a freak misstep walking up a flight of stairs. He knew what it was before the MRI confirmed it, fixed it with a simple procedure and I was back to normal relatively quickly! Highly recommend! read more

Dr Feldman wasn't very attentive to me especially after ending up with a mrsa infection. He was unavailable half the time after the infection was diagnosed. After the surgery to treat the infection I barely saw him. Don't go to him. HSS is the best place to go. read more

Maybe save this guy for when you absolutely need surgery, as the reviews from patients who have had surgery attest to his skill in the operating room. Everyone else should probably stay away. First off, the front desk and waiting room is something out of Kafka. This doctor seems to have adopted a business strategy of packing the patients in and making them wait in order to maintain the assembly line style of his consultations. I waited a solid TWO hours to see him. TWO HOURS. No apology, no explanation and from the other reviews on this site it would appear this is a long standing problem there. When you finally do get in to see him, it's a very cookie cutter approach from a guy who is literally walking out of the exam room the instant he enters. He literally hovered near the door. His head is buried in his clip board, he barely looked at me. Sore knee? Got it, try this brace, take this pill, call a physical therapist. Boom. The pills he prescribed? Extra strength ibuprofen. The brace? Available online for less then the co-pay he charged. The physical therapist? The office hands you a list of places you need to call. Turns out the first one listed has been out of business for over a year! You can smell the cynicism in this office. Finally, Dr. Feldman's manner is brusque and disparaging. Why this joyless, high-strung dude became a doctor is beyond me: he's just a not a people-person. read more

I highly recommend Dr. Feldman for his surgical skill & expertise as well as his ability to connect with patients. I had arthroscopic knee surgery for meniscus tears and the removal of a cyst behind my knee. Now, 4 months later, after surgery and physical therapy, my knee is stronger than ever. I'm a 69 year old woman in good health and my knee was interfering with my active lifestyle. I liked that Dr. Feldman was a sports medicine doctor. I was aware that he had operated on many professional athletes and is a consultant to numerous athletic organizations so I knew he had a lot of experience. He has impressive medical credentials, which are important to me. I also need a doctor that makes good eye contact and treats me like an intelligent partner in my health care. Dr. Feldman satisfied these needs. Dr. Feldman's assistant Mo deserves a shout out for his quick follow up to questions or concerns. I am very happy with the care I received from Dr. Feldman and would recommend him to friends and family. read more

An over 70 yo mature friend of mine needed to see Dr. Feldman weeks after his pedestrian-car accident. My friend P needed medical answers regarding orthopedic delicate issues that has been lingering for 7 weeks after the accident. According to my friend, Dr. Feldman came in the examining room, did not conduct a thorough knee examination (inspection, palpation, etc) so he can provide my friend with an educated guess to P's question. As the Dr was opening the door, half way out of the 'examining room", Dr. Feldman insinuated that my friend is old, his joints will not be the same, and that things are slow for his age. My friend was perplexed and ashamed that a doctor will speak to a patient such as he did to him. "Ashamed", because, my friend is also a doctor, a doctor of dermatology with practices in Manhattan and in the Hamptons. This Dr. Feldman threw out bedside manner since the moment he walked in the examining room. I like NYU, I rated 2 stars for my friend, P, NYU has very good, (not excellent) outstanding services. Dr. Feldman performed meniscus surgery on my left knee five years ago and did the same on my right knee last May. Both knees have turned out well, thanks to Feldman's great skills, using the post-surgery ice box he recommends, and steady P/T. Both times I enjoyed a quick and relatively pain-free recovery. In spite of Feldman's excellence, let's caution anyone who requires coddling that his brisk (even brusque) professional manner means that he's not the guy for you. Feldman clearly states his diagnosis and plan of action but he is not going to pat your hand in the process. (However on the day Feldman did my surgery, his cool, confident pre-op visit was most reassuring.) Feldman's pleasant staff is led by Moe, Carmen, and Carla, who will fill in any blanks regarding procedures, paperwork, and insurance issues. This spring the office relocated to airy new quarters near Astor Place. The Surgicare of Westside facility where Feldman performed my most recent procedure offers clean and safe environs. read more

I had many folks in my medical plan to choose from but I chose dr Andrew Feldman bc he was closest to my work. My appointment was at 10am and i waited for an hour before I was seen!! I've been a patient of Dr. Feldman for over 5 years. I was introduced to his office following a scooter accident in which I injured my shoulder and rotator cuff. I needed surgery, and I can't say enough good things about this crew - honestly, the best practice in town. Feldman is super professional and a perfectionist who never left me feeling unsettled. Mo is the man, always smiling and making sure things are running smoothly. Carmen is super informative and sympathetic, always making sure you're properly prepared and scheduled up. However, the receptionist TYISHA is the best. This woman is the first and last person I see during my office visits and she juggles so much. She has a calm demeanor (and an awesome sense of humor!). I had a horrible electric unicycle accident during the summer where I cracked some ribs, broke my shoulder and tore my bicep. On top of that I have a long history of getting shoulder injuries from snowboarding that went unchecked for years. After this last one I nearly lost use of my right arm. Not good for snowboarding or tennis. Found Dr Feldman via ZocDoc and eventually had the arthroscopic surgery performed by him in December. Scheduling was seamless (his surgery scheduler Carmen was phenomenal), pre-op / post op procedures were clearly explained (Moe is awesome!). Everyone on the team was very professional and NYU hospital is fantastic all in its own right. End result is: my right arm and shoulder are doing great now, better than the uninjured left arm. Doctor walked in with his mask below his nose. The office was cavalier and deceptive about insurance. On zocdoc they said they were in network for GHI. Before the appointment they told me they weren't, but it would only cost me $50. It ended up costing me $200 for a short visit, no X-rays. They also assured me the physical therapist they referred me to took GHI, but that was false. I found out the day of my PT appointment, resulting in a week's delay in starting PT. I waited over an hour after my appointment time (I arrived 15+ minutes early). No one apologized for the wait. Doctor was sarcastic when I accidentally winced in pain. He also made me feel rushed. I had to call and email the office multiple times before they sent me the office notes. The doctor's prescription was illegible; at PT, I had to just explain what I thought he'd said about the injury, because at that point I still didn't have the office notes. I found a different doctor for my follow-up and she's awesome. Didn't keep me waiting, was super nice and thorough, wore her mask without problems, emailed me her notes immediately afterward, and takes my insurance. The nurse and admins were great too. So I don't know why anyone should settle for Dr. Feldman. read more

Surgery is never fun. After dislocating my shoulder 2 major times and many wobbles, it was time to find a solution. I found Dr Feldman from a friend who works in Orthopedics and has personally witnessed a few of his surgeries. He is very direct and to the point, as he literally performs 5 of these surgeries 2-3 times a week- so he knows his stuff. I enjoyed his personality as well and after reviewing 3 doctors, I I completely trusted Dr Feldman to get me going again! The team at his office sets you up with a cooling unit as well to help with swelling and pain. The actual surgery facility was efficient and the people caring for me at the hospital made me comfortable and were very kind. I am now officially cleared, and almost 100% back to my full range of motion. Other than 3 little scars, I hardly notice my shoulder issue anymore :) Thank you Dr Feldman! read more

I am an extreme athlete: long-distance running, swimming, cycling, and soccer, among other things. On average every two years I tear a ligament or break a bone, either knee or shoulders. Dr. Feldman has fixed me every time (this has been going on for over a decade), he is a world-class surgeon. I was told by several people I injured my knee so badly I would never be able to run again and he proved them wrong; I have done two Iron Man races since. I think he is attuned to latest developments in medical world. At the same time, he has also recommended not to have surgery if he thought that would be the better course of action. He is no-nonsense and tells you exactly how he sees it. If you need knee or shoulder surgery, you won't find any better surgeon. Not in NY, not in the US, not anywhere. read more

Dr. Feldman is an amazing surgeon, I had 2 knee surgeries done by him (ACL and meniscus transplant). He's very knowledgeable and will make you feel comfortable with the procedure. His staff (Mo and Carmen) are also great as well, and they really put in the time and effort to make sure you understand recovery time/rehab/future plans etc. I would highly suggest using them if you're ever in need of a orthopedic surgeon. read more

I WISH I could write a better review for Dr. Feldman. He seems like everything you'd want in a sports med doctor: he's experienced (he's written a book and works with the NY Rangers), he's an athlete and a runner, and he's hip, attractive, and wears cool sneakers with his scrubs. HOWEVER. And this is a big however. There is usually a two week-month wait for an appointment, so forget about seeing him if you're having an emergency. Be prepared to wait for at least an hour in the office before seeing the doc (that includes waiting in the waiting room, and in the actual exam room). Expect that Dr. Feldman's resident will examine you first, and essentially be the one to diagnose your problem. And don't be shocked when the doc himself finally appears, only to give you about four minutes of face time--just enough to rehash everything his resident just told you. I've gone to Dr. Feldman four or so times, and I've had the same experience every time. I don't know why I keep going back--probably because of all those reasons I listed at the beginning of this review. But be smart--save yourself the time and money and find a different doctor. Chances are your experience will be better than if you had gone to Dr. Feldman--even if your doc doesn't have flashy sneakers. read more

I saw Dr. Feldman due to a tear in my ACL. He was recommended by my primary care physician whom I normally trust so I thought he'd be great. As I tried to make an appointment with him I quickly learned that his staff is NEVER IN. I eventually learned they also take a TWO HOUR lunch break leaving an answering service to take calls. I have never in my life experienced this at a doctors office. When you do get them on the phone (ONLY if you happen to get them returning your calls - I'm not sure I have ever been able to reach them when I am calling them) it's at least a 2 week wait to see the doctor. The doctor himself was fine but not so great at anything beyond the quick black and white you need surgery here's the deal but I have another patient see you later. Due to this attitude, I avoided surgery for a while not knowing how I felt about this doctor. Fast forward a few months and I threw out my knee running and knew surgery was inevitable. I called the office to schedule surgery and ran into the same can't get ahold of anyone for over a day because the receptionists are awful situation. I finally did schedule surgery and was immediately scared. If I can't get ahold of these people now what happens if I have an issue after surgery? I need to have people I can speak with and who can explain things to me thoroughly. I eventually looked at Dr. Feldman's reviews online and decided I did not want to have this man perform surgery on me. I needed to get my x-rays to go to my new doctor so I called the office to ask what time they would be in "9 am" they replied so figuring since at my other doctors offices when they "open" at 9 the reliable staff is there a few minutes early I arrived at 8:45 hoping they'd get there soon and I wouldn't be quite as late to work. Well, lo and behold De. Feldman's staff DIDN'T GET THERE UNTIL 9:20. They wasted my time and cost me money in making me late to work which I find entirely disrespectful and unprofessional - especially for a doctors office. So Dr. Feldman, I know you work for the New York Rangers and maybe you care about them but it's quite obvious that neither you nor your staff care much for your patients. read more

I had knee surgery with Feldman. Everything leading up to the surgery was fine but post surgery was terrible. First of all, post surgery he did not prescribe the mechanical knee brace (not sure what it's called) that keeps your leg moving. Apparently this is standard these days. As such, My muscle atrophied. When I was younger I could leg press over 1,000lbs so needless to say I had massive legs. After my knee surgery I was just skin and bones - almost complete muscle loss. It was shocking. This meant I had to rebuild my muscle. After 3.5 years I'm still nowhere near where I was in terms of muscle mass. Additionally, I have an odd, almost numbness in my shin now. I told him about it and how it hinders my ability to work out my hamstrings but he basically ignored me. Despite going to rehab twice I still have limited motion and pain in my knee. There was also an incident where it took me 3 weeks just to get someone on the phone to schedule an appointment. I left messages and I called almost every day. No call backs and no one answered the phone. It was astounding. And I will absolutely back-up the comments about his demeanor. He's an openly arrogant guy who doesn't behave as if he cares about his patients at all. Maybe he does and it's just his personality but when you're in a vulnerable state and he's acting like he's got better things to do it's not at all comforting. read more

The knee pain after I banged it on a corner of a metal step turned out to be a microtear. I chose PRP injections after Dr Feldman gave me good explanation on all the options. He just let me make my own decision based on my own research as well. I also trusted him because he was very confident on the procedure and I'm glad I did. It has been 2 months since Dr. Feldman performed arthroscopic knee surgery for a torn medial meniscus. He was highly recommended by my primary care physician as being one of the best orthopedic surgeons in NYC. I'm happy to say that my primary doctor was right. My knee feels great, and now I am able to walk without pain! Personally, I like Dr. Feldman's no-nonsense approach. He gets right to the point and explains everything well. He put me at ease during my pre-op and post-op visits. His office is clean and runs efficiently thanks to his excellent staff -- Benny (PA), Carmen, and Mo. Based on my fast recovery and results, I can confidently say that Dr. Feldman is an excellent orthopedic surgeon, and I would highly recommend him. Thank you for fixing my knee! read more

I had torn the tendon connecting my pec to my shoulder and Dr Feldman did an amazing job repairing it! The staff at his office are incredible and I never waited for my appointments. He also has connections with MRI facilities, so I was able to get 2 MRIs and the hear the results from them within the week. The repair of my tendon was perfect and I have since made a full recovery. I have even started to rock climb again. The scar also looks amazing and healed very well. The office also set me up with a fantastic physical therapy office for my recovery and Dr Feldman was very involved throughout. Would highly recommend his services for anyone with any sort of shoulder related injury!! read more

On the mend thank you to an amazing surgery by Dr. Andrew FELDMAN. Carmen and Dr. Feldman saved the day by managing to get me into surgery right before the holidays. It was a super complicated situation requiring 7 screws a large plate and a ton of bone grafting for a compounded tibia plateau fracture. I have just seen my first post surgery X-ray and am blown away by the incredible results Dr. Feldman was to achieve. I am entirely grateful to have been in great hands and I highly recommend him to anyone needing the most talented surgeon on the East Coast. read more

This Dr thinks that because he is one of the best at what he does and he knows his stuff...that he can treat his patients anyway he wants. I had a knee surgery done by him last year and at my post op visit he discuss in a crude manner that I needed to lose weight and he is right I do but his delivery was rude and disrespectful. I since visit him and like the other patients have receive the same treatment BAD 1 min of his time,after waiting 2 hr he seems annoyed and bother to see me.. I re-injured my knee last week and 2 to 3 week prior my husband injured his elbow. I had been trying to schedule an appointment and was not successful in reaching anyone in the office. So I went to the office today 9/15/14 to get an appointment and to make a complaint, to my surprise he was able to see me. WOW to think I was so happy to get an appointment to see this jerk. After my visit I mention that it is very hard to get anyone on the phone to schedule an appointment...well I guess he has gotten tired of hearing this complaint because today he let it all out on me. He started by saying: "I lose money seeing you because the insurance companies make it hard with what they pay I cant afford to hire extra help" "if you want to pay me $1200.00 cash for this visit I will answer the phone and talk to you myself". he went on and on I was shocked. I asked if he was able to see my husband for his elbow or should he go somewhere else and Dr Feldman said no no I can see him??? Well Dr Feldman make up your mind do you make or lose money seeing insurance patients because I don't see you turning any of them away???? If you lose so much money why don't you only deal with cash?? I get it your tired of us stupid patients complaining we can't get an appointment and we wait 2 hr to see you. We should just be honor that we are allowed to be seen and treated by you. No matter how badly you treat us. I wonder how you treat your staff? I am a human being and deserve to be treated with respect I don't need to be your friend but I do expect some level of professionalism when I see you. Dr. Andrew Feldman's surgery on my left humerus has successfully transformed my broken-in-half arm back to normal after a brutal snowboarding injury this past winter. Dr. Feldman was quick in his diagnosis and quick in getting me under the knife so he could put my arm back together ASAP. After a few months of healing post-surgery, I am as good as new and back to playing tennis. My two-handed backhands have never been better! read more

I was pretty put off by my care at Dr Feldman's office. The nurse and the x-ray tech were both awesome, but Dr Feldman spent about ten minutes with me, and left me almost in tears. I have a month-old shoulder and elbow injury that isn't healing so I finally decided to go see him (my doctor wanted me to go straight to him when it happened). Not unrelated: I also have problems with my neck that are chronic and problems with my foot and knee. So there is more than one thing going on here, but I am not the first person to show up in a doctor's office with more than one thing hurting. I do not need to be told that I am "all over the place." Still, he didn't seem to hear 90% of what I was saying and kept acting like I was confusing him by being "all over the place" If he had been listening he might have been less confused. I was almost in tears when I left. His nurse telling me that they prescribe the same PT to everyone was not especially reassuring. read more

Dr. Feldman treated me for a shoulder separation from a snowboarding injury. Turns out he and his new resident(?) had similar injuries from snowboarding. Be careful out on the trails folks. I've read the reviews here and I have to refocus folks to what matters. Dr. Feldman is the best orthopedic surgeon in the city, by leaps and bounds. Back in May 2010 I had a bucket handle tear of my medial meniscus. Another doctor operated on my knee and I didn't recover for over six months. In December 2010, Dr. Feldman had to perform a second operation to fix what the first doctor messed up. The two experiences could not have been more different. Dr. Feldman was professional, he explained exactly what I needed to do post-surgery, and he was just all around WAY better than the other doctor I had the unfortunate fate of going to. That said, some of the criticisms discussed below I've experienced to be true. It is difficult to find someone at the office to speak with (even when you're at the office). The wait time is long. It is difficult to schedule an appointment. But if you read the reviews for other orthopedic surgeons in the city, you'll quickly realize that this is all too common (unfortunately). When I injured by knee I met with six orthopedic surgeons in the city. Out of all of them, I would recommend Dr. Feldman without a iota of doubt. read more

Dr Feldman has done arthroscopic surgery on both my knees, followed by collagen shots a few years later. All with good results and no problems. Like other commenters here I have found him to be honest, friendly, easy to talk to, and very competent. The assistant guy from somewhere in Eastern Europe is great also. All my dealings with the rest of the staff have always been OK. Until today. I called with a request and the person who answered mumbled his name so I couldn't understand it. Then they were dismissive, defensive, and rude. This seems to be a general problem with many doctors in New York City - great doctors who don't seem to care that their staffs are not necessarily up to their standards. Of course, not true with many, and not typical in my experience with this office either. I've never encountered this sort of thing ever in other places I've lived. You only have to read Yelp comments about many New York City doctor offices to see that rudeness and beyond and incompetence of the office staffs is a pretty widespread phenomenon. Again, I would still recommend Dr. Feldman highly, and this was not a typical experience there. Just a strangely common sort of thing in this city. 2 weeks post-op (right shoulder arthroscopy for medium grade rotator cuff tear and labral tear SLAP 2) and extremely pleased. My physical therapist says I'm already ahead of schedule and I'm feeling surprisingly good so soon after surgery. He's no nonsense and that's what you should expect and want from a top nyc orthopedic surgeon. His staff is great. While not easy to reach on a call they are superb at timely returning calls. For those wondering about the customer service (although I agree with the posters who stress results), I'll give an example. The cold rush machine they gave me for post op treatment wasn't functioning in the first few days. I left a message with the answering service, and no less than three staff members called me back to try and fix it (on Friday night). The doctor called later that night too. In the end I ended up fixing it, yet they didn't charge me the usual (rather high) rental fee of $150. Have had very good experiences with Benny, Carmen and Mo. Not a big yelper here but if I can help a fellow athlete in my position make a good doctor choice then I'm glad I posted. Hope to update in a few months with more good news. I'm over 35 by quite a bit. Because I hate going to doctors so much, I want a doctor who knows what he or she is doing and then gets it done. So I purposely pick doctors who get to the point quickly and clearly, offer me options with no frills. It helps me focus on solution and not the problem because if given a millimeter of an inch, I would either be non-compliant or plop into a pity party about everything. So I need someone no-nonsense that keeps me on the straight and narrow. Dr. Feldman has operated on both my knees (tears and one big-ass baker cyst removal). I don't know if growing up on the Lower East Side makes a difference in how I experience Dr. Feldman's style. It's not particularly rude to me. Any more than me arguing with him is rude either... and any doctor I can shout "oh mo..#*$&)..cker" in front of when something hurts (like a shot) is ok by me. His entire team is GREAT and that tells me a lot about the quality of care I'm getting and the integrity of the doctor. I always take the temperature of staff as a way of gauging the office, business, service. Having worked as support staff, I know that means a lot and reflects a lot about how and who the boss is. Yeah, sometimes the wait is long. But, I've yet to NOT wait long in any doctor's office. I'm always shocked when I'm seen within 20 minutes. Actually, come to think of it, I was in Feldman's office this past Tuesday and I think I waited about 20 minutes. I wasn't paying attention because I was working on stuff. The most important thing for me is that my knees are on their way to recovery. If I have further orthopedic issues I will go to him. read more

After decades of competitive swimming and water polo, Dr Feldman came to my rescue by repairing a torn labrum and bicep tendon on my left side. After an efficient evaluation and discussion about my desire to continue with competitive sports, we discussed the various options and decided on surgery. As a fellow athlete, Dr Feldman appreciates the trade offs of surgical and non-surgical options. Dr Feldman and his team were attentive and professional in their pre and post surgery appointments. After weeks with an ice machine, a couple months in a sling and 4 months of PT, I am back in the pool with nearly full range of motion and now focusing on rebuilding my strength. Six months post surgery I can say that it has been a success. One thing to highlight: Dr Feldman and team can only do so much. If you are not willing to do the hard post-surgery PT work, you might as well not go through with the process. read more

Dr. Feldman is clearly a smart guy, but his bedside manner is brisk & insensitive. Most of the reviews seem to concur. As a person with a serious knee injury as well as a fear of doctor's, being repeatedly complained to by him about how he always has to be the bearer of "bad news" is not comforting. I get it, it's not good news, I'm so sorry you have to be the one to tell me, now can you stop repeating how horrible the news is; I want to know to fix it, not dwell on how horrible it is, or feel sorry for you for having to tell me. I'm getting a second doctor and opinion before continuing with Dr. Feldman. Apparently he knows his stuff, but his bedside manners are shit. read more
