Had a cracked wisdom tooth so it had to be cut out. Dr Matt Zieman explained the procedure and…read morelistened to my concerns. Procedure was done in the morning and Dr Matt called me personally that evening to check on how I was doing. Office staff was great as well.

If I could rate them a 10/5, I would. I had a total of two appointments, one several weeks ago for my consult and today for my actual procedure. Both times I waited no more than 10 minutes in the waiting room, which were clearly busy each time with other patients. The facility is clean, staff members are all very friendly. I like when staff talk just in random, "Hey you are my daughter's age.", "Your nails are so cute.", "Can I get you a warm blanket?". As a healthcare professional, this helps patients relax and feel, well, like family. Dr. Pfeffle on both occasions spent at least 25 minutes speaking to me 1:1, educating me on side effects, showing me my X-ray, and answering any of my questions, patiently. According to his diploma, he has been in orthodontics for 30+ years. I was very impressed with his care, along with his staff members. Thank you Bay Area, keep up the excellent work.

I had my wisdom teeth pulled by Dr. Dean on 11-24-25. Prior to the procedure, everything was…read morecompleted to provide for a cost estimate for the work. I was to owe $50 for my deductible and that was it. Now, well after the fact and with insurance involved, I am being told I owe more. In fact, I have received more than one letter outlining different amounts that might be due. One dated 1-12-26 says "Please pay $2,335.00 by 2-2-26". Another dated 1-20-26 claims I owe $625.00 due immediately. The fact of the matter is, I likely owe nothing, but I needed to get someone from their office to justify to the insurance company why the surgical codes billed were necessary. Such as simple ask, where the answer gets the office paid, and gets me out of the discussion. Win win. But no. It was already unpleasant to receive letters stating that I should provide "immediate attention" to the situation, but even more so when I had to leave a message twice (three days apart) to get someone in the office to respond. Definitely not "immediate". Don't expect me to act "immediately" if your team cannot act immediately. Prior to calling the office, I called my insurance to see what they would say is the issue. The issue is, the office billed for surgical codes and procedures, yet provided no notes to justify why the surgery was needed (as opposed to a simple extraction). When the office representative called me back, she was very short and unsympathetic to my situation. She basically told me it was my problem, and that all the paperwork I received prior said "estimate" so it is what it is. She said your office does not submit "notes" and only submits an x-ray. She told me the x-ray is enough to which I stated it obviously is not.....as here we are. I asked if there was any way to get the justification over to the insurance, and was told perhaps if they wanted to send something....but your rep was not willing to do anything to help facilitate the reconciliation or to make that happen. It is unfortunate, after having trusted your office to help me navigate this journey, that she could be so unwilling to assist or to help provide for some type of mutually agreeable solution. I shared my feelings also about being in the middle between their office and the insurance company trying to mediate but that was of little concern as well. I contacted my insurance again, and ultimately was told that they would pay the claim out, but they do need some type of surgical notes or explanation as to why my teeth had to be surgically removed as opposed to a standard extraction. They provided the attached EOB, and said I could write back with my own narrative as to why the teeth needed to be surgically removed......but I am not sure I am qualified or would provide what they need to justify the charge/procedure. I tried to call the office back, and to speak with someone else to simply see if anyone could help in providing a simple justification statement outlining why surgical removal was necessary. I think this is a simple request to a simple issue, and again hate that a staff member with less than stellar customer service skills felt it appropriate to dump a $625 bill in my lap, instead of working with me to resolve the matter (for all involved). At the time of this review, the issue remains unresolved, and I await a response from the office to see if they will provide me with the justification my insurance seeks in order to pay the claim.

I scheduled an appointment for consultation for a tooth extraction about 9 days ahead. I verified…read morewith my insurance company that they're in my network before I called. I completed the check in process via their website days before my appointment including providing insurance information. At checking in the receptionist asked $250 for consultation fee stating that they're out of network. I checked on Aetna app again, it showed that they're in network right at the desk. They said they will run it again. Before they did anything I had the actual consultation with Dr. Greskovic and headed to the checkout. They wanted me to sign a form that if the insurance company will not pay I will be responsible for the fee. She also stated that once they verify insurance payment then they will call for scheduling the procedure. I called my insurance company right there and they verified again that the provider is in network. I put the representative on speaker, then the doctor stated that they will need a predetermination which basically a guarantee for getting paid from the insurance company. Per representative it would take at least 2-3 weeks. When I scheduled this appointment I was told that scheduling the procedure will be quick. Well it didn't happen. They don't care if you hurt and need timely service. Their whole attitude gave me an impression that they really don't want to file the insurance claim or deal with them just want their money from me. They should verify the insurance coverage before the scheduled consultation and give me a call prior if there is any problem. Every decent provider proceed with insurance verification prior to the appointment. I missed work for nothing today, that tooth has to be pulled ASAP, just finished a round of antibiotics because it was hurting bad. There is a huge problem in that office, either the staff doesn't do their job or that office actually might not be honest about the finances. When I was leaving the doctor was loudly laughing but I let him know that I've heard that. The office staff wasn't the nicest either. The irony is that actually I work for the same insurance company. I know exactly what providers should do, how to deal with insurance etc. I already filed a grievance at the insurance company, because I know how to do that and I know what are the costumer's rights. I am very unhappy not only because I didn't get the care but because I felt that the whole staff including the provider was dismissive and dishonest.
