It's amazing really! This greengrocers sells some of the loveliest fruit and vegetable that you'll find. It makes such a nice change to be able to walk into a shop and see earth and leaves and think, oh yes, that's right, vegetables come from the ground! And apples grow on trees. It's all too easy to forget this when you're just picking up plastic bags of fruit from the supermarket. The service here is wonderfully friendly, and they never fail to stock beetroot and rhubarb when I want it most. Satisfactory indeed, my friends. This is a definitive cockroach shop, in a good way! If only Laura's was in Penarth instead, then it would pretty much be perfect.

I was first given one last year and it was so different and tasty that I have sent a couple since. I suffer from hayfever so while I love flowers the pollen can really irritate me. I think this is the perfect alternative and they look so cool they would be amazing to have at a wedding or event if people could keep their hands off them for long enough! They deliver to the whole Cardiff county. They aren't cheap but then they probably don't cost more than sending a bouquet and at least they getting eaten and not just wilt away.

As soon as I went in someone asked if I needed help. It took me a moment to answer, overwhelmed as I was by both the great service and the heady scent of pollen. She helped me put together a bouquet, suggesting flowers and foliage to fit in with our colour scheme and budget. She was fantastic. I left only reluctantly.

They even manage to have the right smell: far away places mixed with a slight musky aroma. For yourself or for gifts, this is a truly charming shop where you'll not be likely to go too far wrong. It's a lovely shop, well stocked with environmentally sound products that have all been sourced from fair trade companies. I set up projects in India, when I was in my twenties, for Trade Not Aid, the non exploitive trading arm of The Body Shop International, and so I am keenly supportive of all who operate with the same ethos. But, even if I wasn't, I would still shop here. They have a great kids section as well as plenty of affordable high quality gifts for adults. The cards are pretty good too. The people who run the shop are lovely too. It's always really peaceful, and you are allowed to browse for as long as you like without interference, but help is on hand if you need it.
