Instead of trying to improve weaknesses in a career setting, strength finder teaches how to utilize your strengths. While I appreciated her help with my son, I didn't realize she hired college and HS students to tutor the kids while charging the rates that she does. More recently I hired a math tutor for my son, paying the same rate, but it was one on one tutoring, and there definitely was a difference. I can't say I gained the courage to take the plunge after our sessions to pursue my true passion(s) in life, but I did get closer to my true self in my career path. Sometimes the more measured, incremental approach is wiser anyways. Jessica helped me with closing the door on a past career that was not the right fit, which had been hard to let go of. It is challenging to get anywhere in 4 sessions with a new coach, but I was surprised by the amount of ground we covered. The very first session that I had with Jessica, I wanted to work on my relationship to divine partnership. This was a concept that Jessica was perfectly able to speak into. Very quickly she let me empty all of the thoughts that I had in my head out.. all of my complaints, beliefs, self-talk, etc. She gently guided me through my body to begin to discover the truths that I was working with inside. Much of it was discover of the answers that were in my body, waiting to be heard. The whole time, Jessica was tuned into my field and was able to give me a beautiful and accurate reflection of what was happening inside me. This skillset of hers greatly helped my navigation of my own energetic and emotional landscape, as if felt like I had another set of eyes seeing inside myself. Jessica works on a quantum level with her clients, so expect some quantum weirdness (as in surprise miracles). I found her skillset to be far advanced from what you might get from the average therapist/coach. This was profound stuff, and she was able to navigate it simply and economically with time. My second session I wanted to work with her on body image, my relationship to beauty, my own sense of self-love, and my relationship to the marketplace of single life. This was a subtle issue for me, as I've done a lot of work on it, do healing work on other people around it, and know it well. Trite answers were not going to be enough for it. Jessica was able to reveal more of the structure of my thinking and what agreements and ideas had anchored unuseful paradigms in place. Jessica again used so much of the intelligence that was already alive in my body and in my field. She was able to navigate the hologram of my reality adeptly, moving very quickly to the juice of it. Even more important... my body has been amazingly tingly all the way through each session. Usually within 5-10 minutes of talking to her, I already feel my body beginning to release and go into an energy shift with lots of yawning and tearing up at my eyes. This is always a sure-fire way for me to know something is lifting. Truly a gem. You will not find an experience of this caliber in many places. Worth driving to or working over the internet with. I thought, why not, I must be doing something wrong here. We met at a coffee shop after I had sent her my current resume. In the most polite way, she ripped it apart. She clearly outlined the steps needed to fix my resume, and gave me a quote then and there. I was sold! Even though she admitted to never working on a resume in my profession before (audio production), she was all in. We set up successive phone meetings to talk about my resume. Max has a ton of resources available besides your own textbook and homework. For example I struggled with topics in calculus 2 that were foundational steps from pre-cal and calc 1 - thankfully Max had pdf textbooks and resources for pre cal and calc 1 that he could easily share with me so I didn't have to waste time searching on google or YouTube for help. When I first met Max I was feeling very overwhelmed, embarrassed, and severely lacked confidence in math. After having a few sessions with him I noticed how supportive he was and how much he genuinely cared about me understanding the material even if it took hours and multiple tries for me to understand it. He never made me feel judged or less than and that was one of the best feelings. The style of tutoring that I did with max was Monday Wednesday Fridays for 1 hour each on zoom. I would listen to my calc 2 lectures & work on the homework problems and when I came a across a topic/problem that I struggled with I would clearly identify what I was confused about. Then after I identified the issue I would email max a detailed explanation of why I was struggling with this specific problem and I would attach a screenshot of my attempted work on the problem. This style of tutoring worked tremendously well for me! Because I would clearly tell max what exact problems/topics I wanted to go over ahead of time we were able to maximize each tutoring sessions together! Max is not the type of tutor who is going to do your homework for you - so if that is what you are looking for then I'm sorry. But if you are a hard worker, genuinely try each problem, take good notes, and care to learn then Max is the tutor for you :) I failed calc 2 with a D in fall 2020 semester.
