The Tutors were well prepared, had excellent teaching/tutoring skills, were reliable and absolutely worth the investment. A few years back, my son needed help with calculus during his senior year of high school. The UC Davis student who tutored him was outstanding. Rich Lee is helpful responsive and professional in all of the scheduling and business part of the operation too. I would recommend Club Z! without hesitation. Reliable. Valuable. Easy to use!

I am a single mother with a son that is dyslexic. Although my son is very bright, he needs extra support at home with homework in order to succeed in school. I, myself am dyslexic and I cannot give him the help that he needs. I rely solely on outside support. I contacted Rich Lee in 2012 and told him about my situation. He has been the kindest, most understanding man and is very sensitive to my needs. He sent me a bright young girl that we call Yaya. She is professional, smart, prompt, knowledgeable, humble, respectful, hardworking, caring, and patient. My son loves her and spends hours doing homework with Yaya and never gets bored. Yaya is willing to go the extra mile to make sure my son gets what he needs to keep the straight A's he is getting in school. She comes whenever we need her, even weekends and emergencies. She has become part of our family. Rich Lee seems to have a gift of pairing tutors with children. We are so blessed and thankful for coming to ClubZ! We will continue to use Rich Lee's services until my son graduates from high school. I highly recommend ClubZ! to all those struggling parents that seem to think their is no other solutions. I do not know what I would do without Rich Lee and his services. I would like to say thank Rich Lee and Yaya for all your support.

And if you are good at what you do, why would you have to. I almost hired Jeanie to help me with redoing my resume and consulting on what appropriate places of employment would be ideal to apply to based on the strength finder test. She did make a few changes to my existing resume, but I wasn't impressed. Thanked her but it left a lot to be desired. Red flags definitely went up when she referred to my being empathetic as a negative since Empathy is one of my top 5 strengths. Red flags because there is no weaknesses in your strengths when it comes to strength finder. That's the entire point of the system. Instead of trying to improve weaknesses in a career setting, strength finder teaches how to utilize your strengths. This led me to check to see if she was CERTIFIED by Clifton and strength finder and I learned she wasn't. https://www.gallup.com/learning/certification/en/directory - Her website states she is trained, which in my opinion is misleading. I did find a wonderful CERTIFIED coach and it's a world of difference. They're positive and upbeat and definitely know what they are talking about. I had also hired her for tutoring my son some years ago and to help my daughter with essay writing for college application. While I appreciated her help with my son, I didn't realize she hired college and HS students to tutor the kids while charging the rates that she does. More recently I hired a math tutor for my son, paying the same rate, but it was one on one tutoring, and there definitely was a difference. To each their own, but not the sort of place or person I want to do business with.

My son has significant learning disabilities and is falling through the cracks of public school special education which has led to low self esteem, frustrations, anxiety and even school refusal. He told me with tears in his eyes, "Mom, I'm just not a school person" After a summer with Jeanie, this completely changed! He was excited every week to go! He was excited to start the school year this year and he has been asking me monthly, if not weekly WHEN he can start LEARNING with Ms. Jeanie again! He is so excited to be seeing her again! I am so grateful that he feels so seen and supported by Ms. Jeanie and is starting to believe in himself again!

For each time I used the service, I came near final weeks and I usually signed-in in the morning to avoid the crowd. Every time I came with a fully developed paper for word choice check and minor grammar revision. In short, Pros: friendly, informative Cons: time-consuming waiting process, limited tutoring duration SASC is considerate to provide seats, although most of the time they are not enough. The front desk is very friendly and supportive. Every time I signed in, the staff there would tell me roughly how long I had to wait for my appointment. The tutors there were very responsive. They would come into the waiting area to call the next person's name on the wait list. The actual tutoring process was informative and supportive, since the tutors did not rewrite my paper, but provided suggestions on improvements by open questions. Some of my friends also asked tutors for help on higher order of concerns like how to develop their essay and cohesion between paragraphs, and they also gave a satisfactory feedback on that aspect of the tutoring. However, the current tutoring system is still not perfect. Before my tutor guided me into the tutoring room, the most annoying part was the waiting process. SASC has a very strict policy on the wait list: everyone has to sign in the spot right after the previous person and students will lose the spot if their names are called and passed. For reference, I usually signed in at nine, when there are roughly ten people ahead of me, but the system will take about two hours to digest the wait list. On the contrary, the actual tutoring duration is pretty short, only thirty minutes being allowed. Here are some of my tips for you: * Do not wait till the due date to go to SASC for tutoring help. * Remember to bring a hard copy, or SASC will refuse to revise your essay. * Get there as early as you can to avoid the crowd. If you cannot get up early, try to use the online sign-in system for appointments with writing specialists instead. However, those appointments are on a first-come, first-served basis. * Bring your laptop or homework to use the time during waiting. * Use the call-in service at the front desk to check your spot on the wait list if you need to leave and come back later. * Review your paper before the actual appointment. Bring concise and specific questions rather than rely on memory to remember what you want to ask. Please feel free to message me about my experience or if you have any further questions. Hope you can find the help you need in SASC :)

I wrote my name on the sign in sheet and it only took about 5 minutes for a tutor to call me into the room! The tutors were very friendly and explained what my essay was missing in detail. They also suggested ways that I can fix the little mistakes they found rather than just telling me what was wrong. Not only did they focus on helping me fix the small errors like grammar, they helped me look at the bigger picture of my essay. They also really addressed the concerns I had with my essay by making sure my thesis had a clear single focus and my personal examples had enough analysis by the time I left SASC. Overall, my experience with the drop-in tutors for writing was great! I also had the chance to make an appointment and meet with a writing specialist. I made the appointment online at their website and went in to meet with a specialist named Larry. He was also very friendly and helped me really convey the message I wanted to by encouraging me to add more details to my essay. I enjoyed how he didn't do any of the rewriting for me; he would ask me questions about certain parts of my essay and have me write the corrections next to what I had originally written in the margins of my paper. This helped me better understand how I was lacking analysis, and then apply it later on in my writing. He also taught me the TAXES concept. T stand for the topic, A stands for the assertion, X stands for example, E stands for the explanation, and S stand for significance. I've been applying this to my writing and ever since I've been writing very well. Overall, my experience with a writing specialist was very informative and enjoyable. I still continue to go back to SASC for writing help because all of the tutors and specialists are very supportive and are always willing to help. They offer help for any type of writing, not only UWP, and they know exactly what the professors are looking for in the assignments. From one UC Davis student to another, SASC is the place to go when you need help with college writing.

I appreciate that the Mathnasium approach allows each child to progress at their own pace, independent of any cohort. I am so thankful that it allows my child to fulfill her full math potential. When a new student arrives at the Mathnasium, the director will have them take an assessment. Based on that assessment, the student is given an individual program tailored to their needs. The center allows students to have their tutoring sessions at the center, at home through a video call combined with a special software, or both. I found that the tutors are attentive, knowledgeable, and available when students need assistance or need to have their answers checked. I find the math program itself superior to anything I experienced in school and other materials that I have seen. It teaches for understanding instead of memorization, so children can figure out solutions without necessarily being given a way to solve a problem. The materials show the same kind of a problem from different angles, so children learn to recognize the best approach to tackle it. Another strength of the Mathnasium is the ability to customize student's materials. Each set of problems on a particular subject is a in separate packet and depending on different factors those packets can be shuffled to achieve a certain goal. For example, the director looks to make sure that students don't have dense problems on one page after another. She dilutes some of the harder topics with lighter materials from the student's plan. If staff see that a student is stuck, there is always flexibility to make changes. Conversely, if it is clear that a student mastered a subject before completing the entire packet on that subject, staff allows the student to skip pages. The new owner, Shamiran, who took over the center in June of 2024 made numerous improvements that made our experience at the Mathnasium so much better. She ensures that children are progressing and are given extra individual attention where needed. She also keeps kids excited about completing their work through a great selection of prices in the prize cabinet. To end my review I will share this exchange with my daughter: Mom: Why do you like going to Mathnesium so much? Daughter: Pokemon Cards. (one of the available prizes) Mom: No, but why do you like spending time there? Daughter: Hard math.

Max has a ton of resources available besides your own textbook and homework. For example I struggled with topics in calculus 2 that were foundational steps from pre-cal and calc 1 - thankfully Max had pdf textbooks and resources for pre cal and calc 1 that he could easily share with me so I didn't have to waste time searching on google or YouTube for help. When I first met Max I was feeling very overwhelmed, embarrassed, and severely lacked confidence in math. After having a few sessions with him I noticed how supportive he was and how much he genuinely cared about me understanding the material even if it took hours and multiple tries for me to understand it. He never made me feel judged or less than and that was one of the best feelings. The style of tutoring that I did with max was Monday Wednesday Fridays for 1 hour each on zoom. I would listen to my calc 2 lectures & work on the homework problems and when I came a across a topic/problem that I struggled with I would clearly identify what I was confused about. Then after I identified the issue I would email max a detailed explanation of why I was struggling with this specific problem and I would attach a screenshot of my attempted work on the problem. This style of tutoring worked tremendously well for me! Because I would clearly tell max what exact problems/topics I wanted to go over ahead of time we were able to maximize each tutoring sessions together! Max is not the type of tutor who is going to do your homework for you - so if that is what you are looking for then I'm sorry. But if you are a hard worker, genuinely try each problem, take good notes, and care to learn then Max is the tutor for you :) I failed calc 2 with a D in fall 2020 semester. I re-took it in spring 2021 semester with having Max as my tutor and I finished with a 95% in the class. I could go on and on about how thankful I am to have found Max as my tutor, but if you have any questions or want to know more about my own experience feel free to email me at hannahajax7@gmail.com

Not only did Max get me to where I needed to be to pass Statistics, he also showed me approaches to learning that helped me become a much more successful and confident student overall. Max was able to guide me through complex material in a way that was compatible with my learning style and knowledge gaps. He did not so much "teach" me statistics.... he showed me how to approach the material and the concepts and we built a framework for learning that was very successful. Max embodies the very best skills of an experienced tutor and coach. He was with me through the entire semester step by step. We are now tackling Chemistry together. Max is a winning combination with insight and wisdom and the ability to partner with students.
