this is for today's service, but, in all honesty, it's for EVERY time i've been in this store ... i walked in today with a weird question, i'd bought a nightlight (shown below) that had "sketchy wiring" but, i definitely wanted to use it in my grandson's room, but, didn't trust the innards ... after telling the pros what i was wanting, they looked at each other and then one headed into the ATTIC of the store to get down something from the Christmas selection (a light set they use for train / Christmas villages) ... definitely above and beyond for a $10 sale, but, honestly, that's what they ALWAYS do :) ... we are so lucky to have them !!!! read more

Sold me a faulty part. Not even 20 min later, went back to exchange it. Lady at the counter "we can't exchange this". Yeah policies and all but damnit ACE you lost a local customer with this one. These parts along w others such as capacitors, contactors, transformers sometimes come faulty. read more

I bought a new 5lb. propane tank and had it filled at Anderson ACE Hardware. They insisted my 5lb. tank was a 10lb. tank and charged me accordingly. I question the amount and price with another employee. I was still charge for a 10lb tank. I have the tank box from which the tank came and it clearly states 5lb. tank. Rip off and nobody cares. They are too quick to dismiss the obvious and rip off the customer. Stay away! read more

This is my favorite hardware store anywhere. They have almost anything you can imagine for most any kind of project including odd ball screws I've needed to build or repair radio control models, custom furniture, and things around the house. If what you want isn't in their store you might find it by doing a search on their website like I did when I needed some high quality bicycle accessories. Aside from that they are some of the friendliest and most helpful people I've met anywhere. A+ read more

This place rules. They pack so much into the little place - it feels like they have more than Home Depot (at least more of the little stuff I'm usually looking for). I always go there for little nuts and bolts, because they have an entire huge aisle dedicated to it. I particularly like their hex head metric bolts that are stainless - the sucky ones from Lowes (black ones) get rusty... and that sucks. Pricing seems fair - probably right on par with the bigger competitors. Always really nice - it feels like a down home hardware shop. Not that I have anything against the other two mega chains. Their parking can kind of suck sometimes - but they're popular, and people just don't know how to park sometimes - not their fault! read more

I prefer going to Ace over the mega stores like Loews and Home Depot . I go to Ace am greeted when I walk in ,usually someone is right threw asking if they can help . In most cases I can make my purchase and be gone before I can find the aisle I need in the mega stores . Ace has a good return policy and I find most everything I need, have paid and home In minutes . Bill Anderson seems extremely knowledgeable and has guided me in some technical issues of home maintenance . My wife is even a fan and enjoys browsing . I would give them a 5 star but for the fact that they don't carry as large of selection as the Mega's . read more

Decent service sometimes. I would give this two stars but at least they know how to swipe your card for the purchase. This Ace is not as described in their commercials. Went recently to get a piece of glass cut and had to go back as it wasn't the right size. If you ask where something is..."it's over there on Aisle 11." I have been going to this store for several years because it is close to my house, their prices are comparable to the big guys and because I like giving my business to the local merchant when I can. One of the reasons that I do not like going there is because of their people. I don't think that I have ever gone in and felt appreciated for my business. The most recent incident was when I bought a custom made window screen. Turn around time was great, it was ready the next day while the other Aces quoted at least a week. The main problem was that it did not fit right. I had taken them my old screen so they would have the right dimensions to work with. Now I know that you can't always get it just right but when I returned it their collective attitudes were anything but apologetic. After about 10 minutes or so I finally got my refund. When I walked out of the store not one person had said "I am sorry for the trouble". In fact, the cashier gave me a very sarcastic "Have a nice day". read more

Ace Hardware on Providence is THE hardware store to go to for all your odd ball needs as well as your regular stuff. The staff is always helpful, they don't just point you in the direction of the product, they take you to it. I can usually always find that odd nut or bolt I need, or that product didn't know I needed but did. It has the feel of the old local hardware store, you almost expect to see Floyd and Andy sitting in the corner playing checkers. That is the way I like to do business. read more

I have always found this Ace the best! They are always helpful .If you did't find that true is cuz they don't try to hustle you. Just ask. The have even put tools together for me. Always loaded my car . Helped me with my cc & $$ when my hand gets bad or I feel I'll. AND THEY HAVE WHATEVER OUR HOUSES NEED AVAILABLE ,UNLIKE BIG BOX STORES.THOSE STORES SPEAK TO THE POINT OF NONSENSE CUZ CORP.RULES.
